Rennes sporting director ‘anticipates' Arnaud Kalimuendo departure
In his first press conference since trading RC Strasbourg Alsace for Rennes, Désiré revealed the Breton club's intentions in the current transfer window. One of his main priorities is bringing down the size of the squad. Currently, there are around 40 players under contract. He wants to bring that number down to between 22-24.

There are expendables that Les Rennais are trying to get off their books, such as Birmingham City target Kyogo Furuhashi, however, some key players could also leave, such as Kalimuendo. As reported by L'Équipe earlier this month, the France youth international is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur, who next season will play in the UEFA Champions League.
'In this sector (up front), we are anticipating Kalimuendo's eventual departure,' said Désiré. Whilst there are not yet any offers on the table for the striker, that is not expected to remain the case for long.

Sevilla outcasted Premier League goalkeeper as shock option
New Sevilla boss Matías Almeyda is planning some urgent last minute moves in the La Liga summer transfer window. The Andalucians have been hamstrung by no European qualification and ongoing financial issues which as impacted Almeyda's ability to spend on new faces. As Suso and Saul Niguez moved on from the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, only Alfon Gonzalez and Gabriel Suazo have come in, both as free transfers. However, the new man in charge is looking to bolster his goal keeper options, with Newcastle United's Odysseas Vlachodimos now a target, after failing to break into Eddie Howe's plans in his debut 2024/25 season. Nick Pope remained as No.1 on Tyneside, with Martin Dubravka as back up, and Vlachodimos played just 45 minutes of EFL Cup action across the entire campaign. The Greek international is rumoured to be furious over broken promises following his move from Nottingham Forest last summer and the No.1 spot could change again for Howe. Goalkeeper changes at Newcastle and Sevilla England international Aaron Ramsdale is being targeted on loan from Southampton with Pope and Dubravka both out of contract in 2026. Image via Diario AS Sevilla's current first-choice, Orjan Nyland, is also out of contract at the end of 2025/26 and the club have not indicated renewal plans for the Norway international at this stage. A fresh update from the Daily Mail claims Sevilla are exploring a loan offer of their own, if Newcastle secure Ramsdale, with Vlachodimos viewed as a perfect candidate to battle with Nyland. Howe is happy for the former to move on, after being unable to find a place for him, but he may seek assurances over his playing time in Spain before agreeing to a move. A sale will allow Newcastle to refocus on their key transfer priority with confidence growing over their ability to keep hold of talisman Alexander Isak despite Liverpool's latest transfer offer.

£600m+ Adidas deal sets up STUNNING Alexander Isak signing
Liverpool's new 10-year kit deal with Adidas is finally up and running. The Reds - from August 1 - will be outfitted by the German sportswear giants. Adidas takes over from Nike - who have supplied Liverpool's kit and apparel over the last five years. The Nike deal was valued at a base £30m per annum - with Liverpool enjoying a reported 20 percent royalties from replica kit sales and other merchandise. Shop the LFC Store LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! LFC x adidas Shop the goalkeeper range today LFC x adidas Shop the new adidas range today! The basic Adidas deal represents a SUBSTANTIAL increase in basic income from the club's main kit supplier. Adidas paying even MORE than £60m For starters it's believed Liverpool stand to benefit by FAR more than the initial £60m per year which has been reported. And the deal lasts 10 years - providing a guaranteed income stream worth over £600m stretching into the decade ahead. Factor in the sales and performance bonuses and you can see how lucrative this tie-up will end up being. Liverpool will now be better able to forecast budgets in the seasons ahead - as well as remain in line with PSR obligations. And the way that transfers are accounted for in the club's books could also mean that this Adidas deal proves VERY useful in the chase for Alexander Isak. © LFC Isak could cost only £30m a year So-called transfer amortisation means that a deal worth £150m - for example - would only impact accounts by £30m per year over a five-year contract. Given that Liverpool have guaranteed themselves a minimum £30m uplift per annum simply by switching from Nike to Adidas, the benefits of this kit deal alone could pay Isak's British record transfer fee of £150m. Isak a flagship Adidas player And don't forget Isak's long-standing relationship with Adidas football. He has been wearing Adidas boots since his days as a teenager back at AIK. The 25-year-old has featured prominently in Adidas promotional campaigns - for Newcastle and through personal endorsements. If he moves to Liverpool he will be joining one of the biggest attractions in the football world - meaning a huge opportunity exists for mutually beneficial marketing deals.
