CRPF is the best among paramilitary forces: Bandi Sanjay
Hyderabad / Ranchi: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar praised the remarkable courage displayed by CRPF forces in combating separatism in the Northeastern states, Maoist activities in the Nothern states, and terrorism, including in Jammu and Kashmir.
Bandi Sanjay on Friday at Jamshedpur garlanded the statue of revolutionary hero Birsa Munda and paid tribute to him. Then, visited the CRPF headquarters and inaugurated several new buildings during a ceremony attended by MP Vidyut Baran Mahato, Additional DG Amit Kumar, and officers Shalini and Saket Kumar, along with several senior police officials. A two-minute silence was observed in memory of those who lost their lives in the Ahmedabad plane crash. Bandi Sanjay, addressing the after the inauguration, stated, 'The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is one of the best paramilitary forces in the world. It is an honour to inaugurate the new buildings at the CRPF headquarters in Jamshedpur. The services and sacrifices made by CRPF forces for the security of our country are invaluable. The CRPF is well-equipped to effectively handle a variety of challenging situations.'
He inaugurated 480 Type-2 and 24 Type-3 family quarters, as well as a storage building, a tradesman's shop, a 20-bed hospital, an officers' mess, and a main barracks for 180 personnel, on a 165-acre site at the CRPF Group Headquarters in Jamshedpur. 'These residential quarters will provide a safe environment for CRPF jawans and their families, ensuring their children receive a good education and enabling the personnel to serve the country with peace of mind,' Bandi Sanjay stated.

Rameswaram: Chief minister M K Stalin has sought immediate diplomatic intervention from external affairs minister S Jaishankar for the release of eight Rameswaram fishermen who were arrested by Sri Lankan navy in the early hours of Sunday. The eight were among fishermen in more than 300 boats which ventured out to sea from Rameswaram on Saturday. They were allegedly fishing near Talaimannar when they were apprehended for crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), and their mechanised boat was seized. In a letter to Jaishankar, Stalin said such arrests, especially during the early days of the resumed fishing season, cause serious disruption to the lives of coastal communities. The CM called for proactive diplomatic efforts to prevent recurrence of such incidents. The arrested fishermen — S Sesu, 39, N Annamalai, 55, N Muneeswaran, 35, V Kalyanaraman, 48, U Selvam, 28, S Syed Ibrahim, 35, K Kanthavel, 67, and B Balamurugan, 24 —were taken to the Lankan naval base at Talaimannar and are expected to be handed over to the Sri Lankan fisheries department. Bhopal: Union minister and Tikamgarh MP Virendra Khatik reportedly walked off the stage after facing alleged humiliation during CM Mohan Yadav's event in Niwari district. The incident occurred at the Devi Ahilyabai Nari Sammelan held on Saturday in Prithvipur town, where Khatik's speech was allegedly interrupted by a community leader. A video of the moment has gone viral on social media, stirring political debate. More parties will join NDA in T.N; DMK-led alliance on the verge of collapse: L. Murugan
Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and former BJP Tamil Nadu president L. Murugan on Sunday said a few more political parties in Tamil Nadu were expected to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the run-up to the 2026 Assembly election. Mr. Murugan told journalists in Chennai that the DMK-led alliance was on the verge of collapse, and several parties in the front were likely to come out of it.
