Jonathan LaPaglia looks downcast during a family stroll in Los Angeles as he is seen for the first time since being brutally fired from Australian Survivor via email
The 55-year-old appeared downcast as he went for a family stroll in Los Angeles on Tuesday, just hours after Daily Mail Australia revealed that LaPaglia was left blindsided after learning of his sacking via email.
LaPaglia, who had been the face of the franchise since 2016, was spotted on a family walk with his wife Ursula Brooks and their daughter Tilly.
The TV star showed off his muscular arms in a singlet and appeared deep in thought as he walked alongside Tilly, who held their dog's leash.
He completed his casual look with navy shorts and a pair of comfortable sneakers.

The 55-year-old appeared downcast as he went for a family stroll in Los Angeles on Tuesday, just hours after Daily Mail Australia revealed that LaPaglia was left blindsided after learning of his sacking via email
Daily Mail Australia exclusively revealed on Tuesday, the first LaPaglia heard of his sacking was in an email from producers at EndemolShine Australia, the company behind Survivor.
This was before anyone from Ten had the chance to pick up the phone.
The message pinged in his inbox after he had wrapped filming on his last season of Survivor, Australia v The World, which is slated to air later this year.
'He got an email first. That was the initial comms from EndemolShine,' a source said.
'Then a call came from Ten, but by then it was already done. It's really not how you treat someone who's been part of the show for almost a decade.'
The decision to break the news via email, described by insiders as 'clinical' and 'cold', has shocked those involved with the show.
'It wasn't just a job to him,' the source added.
'Jonathan took this seriously - gym, set, repeat. If you've ever watched the man storm tribal council in head-to-toe linen, you know he gave it everything.
'He was passionate, outspoken and protective over the format - especially when production barged in with changes.
'I cannot stress this enough: JLP didn't just show up to read lines. He lived it.'
According to multiple insiders, the decision to replace LaPaglia was made well before Australia v The World began filming in September last year, but was kept tightly under wraps to avoid overshadowing the season.
'It was locked in for months,' one spy said.
'They wanted to avoid a backlash during filming and post-production - but now the torches have been lit, and not just in Samoa.'
Soon after Daily Mail Australia broke the news of his axing, LaPaglia issued a statement confirming he had been dropped - describing his exit as the one blindside he didn't see coming.
'Australian Survivor has seen some of the most epic blindsides over the last 10 years, but this one might just be the craziest of them all… because it happened to me,' he wrote on Instagram.
'I received a call from the network thanking me for all my hard work and dedication to the show but for next season they are "going in a different direction". Ratings had dipped a bit recently and they wanted to do something drastic to shake things up.

Sources close to production say that LaPaglia was 'devastated' after learning Genat was in talks with both the network and production to replace him
'So for the first time ever this is not a tribe swap, but a host swap. Yes, you read that right.'
'I wish I could say, "Before we go to vote, tonight is a little different… no one's going home." But I can't. None of that non-elim bulls**t tonight! Someone IS going home. And with no idol in my back pocket, that someone is me.
'It has been one of the greatest adventures of my career to helm Australian Survivor, so it is without a doubt the hardest challenge of all to snuff my own torch but here goes: "JLP… the tribe has spoken".'
While no replacement has been officially announced, our sources say Survivor: All Stars winner David Genat will step into the role from 2026.

Move over, Dickie! Meet Channel Nine's rising new star anchor who could take Richard Wilkins' job - and the ladies are already swooning
It appears that Channel Nine could have a rising star on its hands. Aspiring TV presenter Chaad Hewitt caused quite a stir recently, when he made an appearance on the Today show. After wowing Karl Stefanovic with his anchor chops in a university assignment, Chaad found himself front and centre on the Today set recently. He shared a clip of his on-air experience that saw him stepping into the rather large shoes of Nine entertainment veteran Richard Wilkins. 'Today we found an aspiring entertainment journo and if you squint he looks like a young Richard Wilkins,' Karl said on air. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. A side-by-side photo was then shown on screen, highlighting the similarities between the pair. 'Somebody needs to do the math, because my mum worked at MTV in the '90s so what's going on there?' Chaad joked, referencing Richard's stint at the music television station. 'Who's your daddy?' Karl excitedly asked, which elicited quite the laugh from the rising star. Chaad was full of gratitude for his big television break. 'WHAT AN HONOUR to share my first full day of learning as an anchor with the team @thetodayshow,' he wrote on Instagram. 'I couldn't have asked for a more special experience with the amazing team and mentors. While sharing the stage in place of Dicky, this little moment caught us all off.' Despite Chaad's anchor gig only being temporary, it seems he has struck a chord with breakfast TV viewers. Karl commented on a clip of Chaad on air with: 'Loved having you, son,' to which one viewer replied: 'He needs to be a regular.' 'Today we found an aspiring entertainment journo and if you squint he looks like a young Richard Wilkins,' Karl said on air Another chimed in with: 'Never has there been a man more suited to the screen.' 'From now on, I love watching the news,' a third swooned. It looks as though Dickie might have to start looking over his shoulder, with Chaad already a triple threat. Aside from being an aspiring entertainment reporter, Chaad is also a model, after being discovered by Gold Coast agency Reel Management in 2020, and has since worked with the likes of BOSS and Polo Ralph Lauren. According to his LinkedIn profile, Chaad is also a budding actor, having hit the stage for the Queensland Drama Academy in Flood. He also nabbed a gig as actor Stacy Clausen's stand-in for the 2023 film True Spirit. Chaad recently revealed that his Today show stint all came about thanks to a university assignment. The second-year journalism student at Bond University posted an after-class exercise to social media that attracted half a million views. After seeing the video, Karl reached out with an offer for the rising star to appear on the show. 'Karl said, 'I want to bring you on the Today show'. To be honest with you, I thought he was joking… I didn't think he was being serious.' Turns out Karl was deadly serious with Chaad adding: 'Karl actually said, 'you can be the anchor!' In a matter of about two hours, they had everything sorted.' He also revealed that his Today cameo did the trick with the network, with Nine keen to stay in touch.

Keith David is overcome with emotion as he leads big names announced to be on Hollywood Walk Of Fame
It was one of actor Keith David's most emotional moments ever - and he wasn't even acting. The Emmy-winning entertainer, 69, was overjoyed Wednesday as he was announced as one of the next people to get a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame, sometime in 2026. David, who has been seen in films such as Crash, The Thing, and They Live, took to social media posting a clip of his reaction to the honor, which actor-comic Eugenio Derbez announced. When his name was announced as an honoree, David was seen with his mouth open, grabbing his chest at the happy surprise. 'What a surprise!' he said in a post on X. 'Being blessed to get to do this for a living is enough for me; to be recognized for my contribution to the arts is the cherry on top.' David added, 'Thank you, Hollywood Walk of Fame & Hollywood Chamber for this honor. This will be a wonderful birthday present next year.' He subsequently posted on TikTok: 'Thank you, #hollywoodwalkoffame & Hollywood Chamber for this honor.' David added: 'A special s/o to my wife, @Dionne Lea – my greatest supporter! This will be a wonderful birthday present next year.' In order to be eligible to receive a star, an entertainer has to be nominated for the honor and agree to it ahead of time. Other notable names who were announced as future star recipients included Miley Cyrus, Demi Moore, Timothée Chalamet, Shaquille O'Neal, Rami Malek, Emily Blunt, Noah Wyle, Rachel McAdams and late filmmaker Tony Scott. David's clip was a hit with users on the MadeMeSmile subreddit as fans flooded the thread with supportive comments of the actor and his vast archive of performances, both in live-action and voiceover roles. One user wrote of the venerated actor: 'Icon. Long overdue.' Another user, speaking to the latter point of the honor being overdue, added, 'Seriously! This man is in some of the biggest movies of the 80s and was a genuine box-office draw. 'I'm sort of surprised this is only happening now.' Said another Reddit user: 'He does, he scared and creeped the hell out of me in Requiem For A Dream, and it's funny seeing how warm and loving he is. That's always what I think of when I see him.'

The Project's Georgie Tunny announces surprising new TV gig after show's axing
The Project's Georgie Tunny has announced her new gig following Channel Ten 's shock decision to axe the long-running news program. The 34-year-old revealed on Thursday she will be joining Ten's new current affairs program 10 News+. 'I've always been a fan of news delivered differently and am excited to be staying with the 10 family,' she told 'Can't wait to see where this new chapter leads!' 10 News+, hosted by recently poached Seven journalists Denham Hitchcock and Amelia Brace, made its debut on Monday night. It has received mixed reviews from viewers, with many sharing their thoughts on X. Several compared 10 News+ to A Current Affair with one posting: 'This is like ACA. Going to people's houses to talk and them avoiding the cameras.' 'You replaced The Project with a Temu ACA not seeing @theprojecttv is incredibly depressing. 10news+ sucks!' complained another viewer. Someone else said: 'This is proper @Channel7 style commercial JUNK. It's like watching a cross between Fox News and Anchorman. Why the silly 'news' voices!?' One more person tuning in at home asked: 'Anyone else bored so far?' while someone else said, 'please no more long investigation reports it's 6pm'. 'Oh dear. I thought I would give 10 News Plus a go.I feel like we have regressed 20 years! An inauthentic painfully choreographed attempt at current affairs!' one said. 'Dribble. Won't last the year' a viewer said with another adding, 'Felt like it was a Comedy Company parody from the 80s. The fist pump at the end? Yikes.' Not everyone was so negative with one fan writing: 'Loving @10NewsPlus - strong launch story. Is this the new Schapelle Corby story we all need to know about. 10 news should be very proud.' The first episode included an investigation on drug-smuggling Melbourne mum Debbie Voulgaris and a sit-down chat with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. The Project aired its final episode last Friday night. It was announced last month that it would be pulled from the schedule after 16 years and more than 4,500 episodes. The Project hosts Waleed Aly, Sarah Harris and Hamish Macdonald are set to exit the network, while comedian Taunton will continue his guest appearances on other Ten shows.
