Saturday Night's Main Event XL could turn into one of the most unforgettable nights in
WWE
this year. While fans are excited for the showdown between
Seth Rollins
and LA Knight, unexpected twists on SmackDown have opened the door for something even bigger, the shocking return of
Roman Reigns
.
After months away, the Original Tribal Chief might be stepping back into the spotlight. But this time, it may be for more than just a comeback. With the power balance shifting on RAW and SmackDown, Reigns could arrive right when WWE needs him the most.
LA Knight's spot in danger as tensions rise
Seth Rollins
has been at war with several top names since forming his faction, and
LA Knight
has been a major target. Their feud has grown intense in recent weeks, building toward their match at Saturday Night's Main Event XL.
But during the latest SmackDown, things took a sharp turn.
Knight teamed up with
Jimmy Uso
to face
Solo Sikoa
and JC Mateo, yet after the match, he was ambushed by
Bron Breakker
and Bronson Reed. With Knight possibly injured, WWE might be forced to find a replacement at the last minute. That's where the real news begins, could Roman Reigns return?
Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed take out LA Knight: SmackDown, July 11, 2025
Reigns has not been seen since being taken out by Rollins and Breakker after WrestleMania 41, but his name keeps popping up on television, fueling excitement that his return is near.
A Roman–Rollins showdown would instantly raise the stakes and create headlines worldwide.
WWE Hall of Famer backs a reunited Bloodline
The return of
Roman Reigns
could also bring back something fans have dearly missed, the Original Bloodline. Along with names like Jey Uso and Jacob Fatu, there is talk of the family again uniting. WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, on his podcast, Rikishi Fatu Off The Top, even addressed the idea of becoming part of it:
Hello! - Rikishi Fatu - Off The Top (Episode 66)
'Well, you know, to be honest, I think when it comes to those guys, you need the player, players.
Definitely, Roman Reigns has to be in that conversation. Would it make sense to come back and have Roman with Big Jim, with Jacob and Jey? You follow me? You know, maybe there's a new Wiseman there with the [OG] Bloodline. There's something people, you know, just—they've been waiting; they've been asking, and, you know what I mean, for me, I was, like, you know, I was like, to give the fans what they want.
'
Adding Rikishi as Wiseman would give the Bloodline a fresh voice and a wealth of experience.
It would also deepen the family storyline, creating must‑see television week after week.
With the two‑night SummerSlam on August 2 and 3 quickly approaching, a surprise return at SNME could light the fuse for an epic main event on the grand stage. Merch sales, crowd energy, and rumors would skyrocket, giving WWE yet another blockbuster summer moment.

Roman Reigns' return to the spotlight could completely shake up WWE's landscape. Whether he steps into battle with Seth Rollins or begins a Bloodline reunion, the Tribal Chief's comeback might steal the show at Saturday Night's Main Event, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter in WWE's biggest storylines.

When will Rey Mysterio return to in-ring competition after being injured? WWE expert Dave Meltzer has an update

Rey Mysterio, one of the biggest names in the WWE has been missing from in-ring competition since April when he suffered an injury on the SmackDown before WrestleMania 41. This forced him to miss the 'Show of Shows'. His impending return is one of the most keenly discussed topics among fans. Speaking to Indiatimes, veteran journalist Dave Meltzer revealed the timeline for his return. Dave Meltzer sheds light on Rey Mysterio's future Dave Meltzer, the founder of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, is one of the most respected names in pro wrestling journalism. The veteran analyst specialises in covering the WWE and frequently shares his frank opinions on the product on social media. Speaking to Indiatimes, he revealed that Rey Mysterio is expected to return to in-ring competition in August. This suggests that he is likely to miss SummerSlam, which is slated to be held on August 2 and August 3. Rey Mysterio tore his groin and busted his eardrum right before WrestleMania 41 in April. The groin injury occurred during a tag match on SmackDown. He also injured his eardrum around the same time. He later underwent surgery for the same. This injury forced him to miss WrestleMania 41, where he was to take on El Grande Americano in a grudge match. He was replaced by Rey Fenix in the bout, who lost. Rey Mysterio made his unofficial return to WWE programming at Worlds Collide in June and appeared during the opening segment. He, however, was not cleared to compete at the event. Is a Rey Mysterio-Penta feud on the cards? Penta has emerged as WWE's resident 'Luchador No 1' in Rey Mysterio's absence. The former AEW star even main evented Raw recently when he took on Seth Rollins in a losing effort. Penta squared off with Rey Mysterio in the Royal Rumble match and held his own against the veteran. It remains to be seen if the two lock horns or cross paths again once the 'Master of the 619' , who is being advertised for Survivor Series this November, returns to in-ring competition. He may also resume his feud with El Grande Americano.

Exclusive: Rhea Ripley to score an emphatic win over Iyo Sky at Evolution 2?

Iyo Sky is set to defend the Raw Women's Championship against Rhea Ripley in the main event of Evolution 2, slated to take place on July 13. Both women are A-List performers and have emerged as mainstays of the division in recent times. This has made it difficult for fans to predict the winner. In an exclusive interaction with Indiatimes, a veteran writer weighed in on the possible outcome of the match and chose a clear winner. Vince Russo feels Rhea Ripley will win at Evolution 2, here's why Vince Russo has been an integral part of the professional wrestling business since the 1990s. He has worked with leading promotions such as WWE, TNA, the now defunct WCW. In an interview with Indiatimes, he said that Rhea Ripley is likely to capture the title at Evolution 2. He pointed out that 'The Genius of the Sky' went over last time, making her opponent the clear favourite. 'They just keep going back and forth with Rhea and Iyo with no story. So I would assume it's Rhea's time to go over,' said Russo. Iyo Sky beat Rhea Ripley on Raw ahead of WrestleMania 41 to capture the title. She then retained it when a rematch was thrown out by the 'Guest Referee' Bianca Belair, Iyo eventually held on to the belt at 'The Show of Shows, in April, ' when she pinned Bianca Belair to win a triple-threat match that also included 'Mami'. Iyo then chose Rhea as her opponent for Evolution 2 on Raw. Interestingly, the two have tremendous respect for each other. Not too long ago, they teamed up to defeat Roxanne Perez and Giulia on Raw. About Evolution 2 Evolution 2 is a women-only Premium Live Event that brings together the biggest names from the WWE. Besides Iyo-Rhea, it also features several high-profile encounters. Tiffany Stratton will be defending the SmackDown Women's Championship against Trish Stratus. The event will also see Becky Lynch defending the Intercontinental Championship against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in a triple-threat match. Raquel and Roxanne Perez (substituting for an injured Liv Morgan) will put the tag titles on the line against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, Sol Ruca and Zaria and The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane). Naomi and Jade Cargill will be taking on each other in a No-Holds-Barred match at the PLE, which comes just a few months after their intense encounter at WrestleMania 41. Additionally, the event will host a battle royale. The winner of this match will get a World Championship shot at Clash in Paris. NXT Champion Jacy Jayne will also be defending her title against Jordynne Grace. Evolution 2 will stream on Peacock this Sunday.

'I've got over a hundred friends and family that came over from all over the world," he continued. 'The fans in Atalanta have been absolutely wonderful. I love you, I couldn't have done it without you," the 58-year-old said. 'Everytime I step into this ring, it is because of every one of you. All these kids, they are the reason why I did what I did," Goldberg stated. 'I grew up wanting to be a professional football player. I was lucky enough to play for University of Georgia, Go Bulldogs! And I was lucky enough to play for the Atlanta Falcons," he said. 'And I was lucky enough to beat Hogan in front of 45,000 of you all," Goldberg added. Respect And Helping Hand Goldberg added that he never thought of the moment of retirement but thanked hi friends and family, who were present beside him in the ring, in addition to all the fans. 'I've never thought about this moment, cause I never thought it would come. But, I couldn't have done it without you. Each one of you," he revealed. 'And these people who are in the ring with me, my friends and family, I don't know what to say, but it has been one hell of a ride." 'There ain't going to be another Goldberg, except for the boy here," he said pointing to his son. 'Treat everyone like you would like to be treated. Black, green, purple, Christian, Jewish. I don't give a damn." 'You treat every single human being with respect, and if I did anything in my career, I honoured that and tried to pass that down. And everyone in the ring with me, that is their character too," he said. Tributes And Heirlooms Goldberg went on to thank everyone who helped out during the time of need to those affected by the flood in America. 'It has been one hell of a ride, but that doesn't mean I'm going anywhere. I ain't going off the plane by any stretch of imagination. This ain't goodbye, I'll be doing other stuff and I've just begun," he said. He thanked his wife for her support throughout and paid a tribute to her late father before concluding with an iconic micdrop. 'But I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and the one person who is with me, is my beautiful wife," he said. 'This goes out to my father-in-law, who passed away last week. This goes out to all the flood victims in North Carolina and everyone affected, and if there is anything I have learnt, it is that you are never too good to lend a helping hand," Goldberg added. 'I am damn proud of all my neighbours who went North, South, East and West to lend a helping hand," the wrestler said. 'Treat everybody with respect. This can be a very crappy world if you let it. But if you stand up and put your foot down and lead by example it is going to be one heck of a ride," Goldberg added. 'And I want every one of you to take that ride with me. Micdrop," the icon signed off. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.
