Israeli Forces Escalate Raids in Northern West Bank
Local sources reported that troops raided the town of Zeita, where soldiers stormed the home of the Ibrahim Abu al-Izz family. The family was forced out at gunpoint, and the home was seized and converted into a military outpost. Soldiers raised the Israeli flag on its roof, a move residents described as both symbolic and provocative.
Simultaneously, military vehicles moved into the nearby towns of Anabta and Bal'a, where Israeli forces were seen patrolling residential streets, searching vehicles, and restricting the movement of civilians.
According to the Wafa news agency, this escalation is part of a broader and sustained military campaign that has placed the Tulkarem area, including the Tulkarem and Nour Shams refugee camps, under a suffocating siege. Infantry units and armored vehicles have been deployed across main roads and alleyways, with soldiers reportedly firing at anyone attempting to return to their homes or check on their properties.
Israeli forces have seized control of large sections of Nablus Street, forcibly evicting residents from several apartment buildings and turning the area into a heavily fortified military zone. Parts of the northern and eastern neighborhoods near the Tulkarem camp remain under direct military control, with checkpoints, bulldozers, and heavy vehicles present throughout the area. Some buildings have now been under occupation control for over four months.
The relentless raids have caused widespread destruction and displacement. At least 14 Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of the escalation, including a child and two women, while dozens more have been injured or arrested. The military operations have also caused extensive damage to homes, shops, and infrastructure.
Over 25,000 residents, representing more than 5,000 families, have been forcibly displaced from the Tulkarem and Nour Shams camps. More than 600 homes have been completely destroyed, and an additional 2,573 have been partially damaged. The entrances to both camps remain closed off by military barricades, effectively turning them into ghost towns.
In a related development, Israeli forces also stormed the village of Marah Rabah, south of Bethlehem. The head of the village council, Hussein al-Sheikh, said that an army unit stationed near the Al-Atqiya Mosque stopped and searched Palestinian vehicles and checked citizens' IDs, adding to growing fears of a broader military expansion across the occupied West Bank.

Israeli Forces Escalate Raids in Northern West Bank
DaysofPal – Israeli forces carried out a fresh wave of military raids in the northern occupied West Bank, storming several towns near Tulkarem, amid an intensifying campaign that has led to mass displacement, civilian casualties, and the transformation of entire neighborhoods into military zones. Palestinian Ministry of Education: Over 18,000 Students Killed Since October 2023
DaysofPal – The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced on Tuesday staggering figures reflecting the devastating impact of Israel's ongoing assault on the education sector in both the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023. According to the ministry's statement, a total of 18,243 students have been killed and 31,643 injured during this period. In Gaza alone, 17,175 students were killed, and 26,264 were injured. In the West Bank, Israeli forces have killed 140 students, injured 927, and arrested 768 others. The toll among educational staff has also been severe: 928 teachers and administrators have been killed, 4,452 injured, and over 199 arrested in the West Bank. Educational infrastructure has suffered massive destruction. In Gaza, 252 public schools have been severely damaged, of which 118 were completely destroyed. Additionally, 91 public schools and 91 UNRWA-run schools have been bombed or vandalized. University facilities have not been spared—60 university buildings have been entirely destroyed in Gaza. In the West Bank, 152 schools and 8 universities and colleges have been raided or vandalized by Israeli forces. Fences and perimeters of educational institutions in Jenin, Tulkarem, Salfit, and Tubas were also destroyed. Given the dire security conditions, university education has moved entirely online. The ministry highlighted a particularly egregious incident where the Bedouin Ka'abneh School in Jericho was forcibly evacuated after Israeli forces assaulted the premises and confiscated its contents. The statement concluded with a grim note: 25 schools, along with their student and teacher populations, have been permanently removed from the educational registry due to total destruction. The ministry emphasized that these acts amount to a deliberate targeting of future generations and constitute a blatant violation of international law and humanitarian norms. Euro-Med: Gazans Now Have Less Space Than Guantanamo Detainees Amid Ongoing Genocide
DaysofPal – The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has revealed alarming new data showing that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are now confined to less than 15% of the territory, around 55 square kilometers, leaving each individual with under 24 square meters of space. This is less than the space allocated per inmate at the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay. In a statement shared with SAFA, the organization said roughly 2.3 million Gazans are being crammed into a shrinking area under continuous Israeli bombardment, siege, and the near-total collapse of essential services, including food, water, shelter, and healthcare. Most are also blocked from returning to their original homes, which have either been destroyed or declared off-limits by Israeli forces. Euro-Med described this situation as 'part of a deliberate Israeli policy constituting an act of genocide aimed at uprooting the population and erasing their physical and demographic presence.' The statement stressed that Israel's campaign in Gaza is no longer confined to destruction or mass killing—it amounts to an effort to erase the Strip and its people altogether. The Monitor highlighted that more than 85% of Gaza's territory has been declared closed military zones, either through direct military occupation or forced evacuation orders. As a result, the entire population is effectively detained in what the organization called 'a massive internment camp,' with population densities in some areas—such as Al-Mawasi—reaching over 47,000 people per square kilometer, the highest anywhere in the world. The human toll of this confinement is compounded by the catastrophic damage to infrastructure. Over 92% of homes have been destroyed or severely damaged, along with more than 80% of schools and 90% of hospitals. All universities in the Strip have been completely demolished. Israeli forces are reportedly removing rubble and transporting it into Israel, further obstructing any possibility of rebuilding or return. The statement classified mass displacement and destruction as both war crimes and crimes against humanity, particularly given the absence of military necessity and the failure to provide protection or humane alternatives. Euro-Med urged the international community to recognize that what is happening in Gaza is not an evacuation—it is 'a systematic erasure of an entire people.' The organization called for immediate and meaningful global action to halt the genocide. This includes imposing sanctions on the Israeli government, facilitating unrestricted humanitarian access, and launching criminal investigations and prosecutions targeting those responsible for war crimes. The Monitor further called on countries with universal jurisdiction to issue arrest warrants for Israeli political and military leaders implicated in the atrocities and to initiate legal proceedings in line with international obligations. Finally, the statement urged the International Criminal Court (ICC) to expedite its investigations into Israeli crimes in Gaza, explicitly including genocide and forced displacement within its mandate, and to expand its list of arrest warrants to hold all perpetrators accountable.
