One more session was needed for the New York Giants' wide receiver corps before they reach training camp this week. Malik Nabers and a handful of his teammates linked up out in Atlanta to put in some work.
This wasn't the first pre-camp outing for the Giants' wideouts. Recently, a large group of offensive players joined the veteran quarterback Russell Wilson out in San Diego, California, to put in some work and participate in off-field activities.
It's been a productive summer for Nabers, despite his absence at the team's minicamp sessions.

Back in the spring, Nabers was revealed to be dealing with a toe injury. As a result, the Giants wanted to take it easy with their star player. He was not cleared to participate in OTAs or mandatory minicamp. It was valuable time missed with Wilson, but the two made up for it out West, as they got to work.
Russell Wilson Explains Malik Nabers' Impact
When Russell Wilson wrapped up his one-year run with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he hit the free agency market to search for his fourth team.
The Giants had their eyes on other potential additions, such as Aaron Rodgers. Eventually, New York landed on the combination of Jameis Winston and Wilson.
While the Giants didn't seem to be Wilson's only option, the veteran quarterback made it clear that the opportunity to play with Nabers was too intriguing to pass up.

He would later add that he signed with the Giants because he "really wanted to play with someone special," like Nabers.

Nabers was expected to be a star coming out of LSU in 2024. In three seasons, he appeared in 38 games and caught 189 passes for just over 3,000 yards. Nabers had 21 touchdowns, with 14 of them coming during his final season in 2023.
The Giants selected Nabers with the sixth-overall pick in last year's draft. Despite the inconsistent play under center, Nabers would thrive throughout his rookie season with the Giants. He was targeted 170 times and caught 109 of his passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns.
New York hopes that Wilson is the answer for the full season. Nabers is poised for another major season on the Giants' offense.

Verlander ends historic 16-game winless streak as Devers' 2 homers power Giants past Braves

ATLANTA — Justin Verlander ended the longest streak of starts in a season without a win in Giants history, Rafael Devers drove in four runs with three hits, including two home runs, and San Francisco beat the Atlanta Braves 9-3 on Wednesday. The 42-year-old Verlander (1-8) had been winless in his first 16 starts, the longest stretch by a Giants pitcher in a single season in franchise history. The three-time Cy Young winner, who finalized a $15 million, one-year deal with San Francisco in January, allowed one hit in five scoreless innings and overcame five walks. Devers went deep off Spencer Strider (4-8) in the fifth for the game's first run. Strider then hit Willy Adames with a pitch before Matt Chapman's two-run homer gave San Francisco a 3-0 lead. Devers added a three-run shot off Dylan Dodd , who was recalled earlier in the day, in the sixth. MARLINS 3, PADRES 2 MIAMI — Jesús Sánchez hit a two-run homer and 2022 NL Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara pitched seven innings with four strikeouts as Miami beat San Diego. San Diego tied things up in the fourth inning after a throwing error from catcher Nick Fortes advanced Luis Arraez to second, and Manny Machado drove him in with a single to left field. The Padres' run was swiftly put to an end, though, after a double play finished the inning with the score tied at 1-1. Matt Shaw and Pete Crow-Armstrong hit solo shots for Chicago, which entered tied with Milwaukee for first place in the NL Central and the best record in the majors. MARLINS 3, PADRES 2 MIAMI — Jesús Sánchez hit a two-run homer and 2022 NL Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara pitched seven innings with four strikeouts as the Miami beat San Diego. Padres' pitcher Dylan Cease (3-10) struggled with control early, walking Miami's first two batters before Augustín Ramírez got the Marlins on the board with a single to center field that drove in Xavier Edwards. The Marlins came back when Sánchez hit his ninth home run of the season on a fly ball to right field in the bottom of the fifth inning, putting Miami up 3-1. Cease retired the next two batters to escape the inning but was pulled heading into the sixth.
