Despite performing well when he took over as starting QB for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season, Russell Wilson found himself on the move again this offseason. Though this will be his third team in three years, the former Super Bowl champion is eager to start this next chapter.
Upon hitting free agency, Wilson found himself heading back to the NFC via a one-year deal with the New York Giants. Following a season where multiple different players got under center, the veteran will look to bring some stability to the quarterback position. Wilson will also be tasked with being a mentor of sorts, as the Giants also drafted their QB of the future this offseason in Jaxson Dart.
Though the writing is on the wall regarding his time in New York, it hasn't affected Wilson's attitude. While on The Tonight Show last week, he talked about how excited he is to be playing for the storied franchise.

"It's super fun I'm excited about it," Wilson said about playing for the Giants. "I love our team, I love the guys that we have. The players, the youth, the hard work that they put in."
Wilson also took the time to praise the cast of offensive weapons around him and his new head coach Brian Daboll.
"Got a great receiver core," he continued. "Got great running backs, line...They want to win, they want to do all the right things to do that. I think Coach Daboll has done a great job. Guy who I believe in, big reason why I came here."
Wilson might not be the superstar talent he once was, but he is still a sound option at quarterback at this stage of his career. In 11 starts for the Steelers last year, he posted a 6-5 record while throwing for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns. Now, he's tasked with elevating a Giants offense with exciting young talents like wide receiver Malik Nabers and running back Tyrone Tracy.

Based on his comments, Wilson seems eager to have an impact for the Giants in 2025. He'll be back with his teammates soon, as veterans are set to report to camp on July 22nd to begin the ramp-up for the regular season.

Tom Brady makes first appearance at Raiders training camp as minority owner

There was a Goat on the field today in Henderson. With the Raiders practicing, they had minority owner Tom Brady taking in the action. Several current Raiders players were teammates with Brady. Including WR Jakobi Meyers, LB Elandon Roberts, DT Adam Butler, LB Devin White, and G Alex Cappa. All five won Super Bowls with Brady, the latter two were on his team in Tampa. For that matter, so was the Raiders GM John Spytek who was the Bucs' assistant GM that year. Brady just retired from the NFL two seasons ago, so there are a good many players on this team who faced him on the field as well. These days, however, he is in an advisory role. As minority owner he literally has a stake in the success of the frnachise. And with his breadth of knowledge and respect as a seven-time Super Bowl champion, he has the ear of Raiders brass whenever they ask for his opinion on adding players. And for the first time -- at least for a media attended practice -- he watched some of those players on the practice field.

Terry McLaurin wants out of Washington, but don't expect a quick exodus. McLaurin, nicknamed 'Scary Terry,' is not pleased with his contract and wants a new one or a trade from the franchise, which has its eyes firmly set on winning the Super Bowl this year. Oddsmakers at DraftKings see it as unlikely that McLaurin winds up being shipped out of Washington, as they've tagged the Commanders with -250 odds to be the team that the wideout suits up for in Week 1 (or whenever he plays his first game). Those odds carry a 71.43 percent implied probability. There are two clear favorites should he be moved, though, according to the sportsbook. The Patriots' odds to acquire McLaurin are +450 (18.18 percent implied), which gives them the second-best chance of any team in the NFL to acquire him. The Raiders are third, with +500 odds to bring in Scary Terry. Every other team looks to be a long shot to pony up enough assets or money for McLaurin, according to the bookies. No other team is lower than 10/1 to get McLaurin. Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin formed a dynamic duo. He scored an impressive 13 touchdowns in 2024 to go along with 1,096 yards as he and Daniels formed a dynamic duo. Washington went to the NFC Championship game last season and is poised to be even better in 2025 after bringing in Samuel and pass rusher Von Miller — although losing McLaurin would limit that ceiling. Micah Parsons requests trade from Cowboys as contract dispute reaches breaking point

Micah Parsons wants out of Dallas while they've yet to come to terms on an extension. The All-Pro linebacker said he personally submitted his request for a trade to Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones on Friday after a lack of communication from the club to negotiate a deal. Parsons explained in a social media post that he no longer wants to play for Dallas, as the club has yet to contact his agent after Parsons and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones discussed a new deal in March. He recalled telling Jones what he wanted, and then left the meeting telling Jones that his agent would be in touch. 'But when my agent reached out and spoke to (ESPN's) Adam (Schefter) he was told the deal was pretty much already done,' Parsons wrote. 'My agent of course told him that wasn't the case and also reached out to Stephen Jones. Again the team decided to go silent. At that point, we decided we would allow the team to reach out to us whenever they decided they wanted to talk. Yet still not a call email or text to my agent about starting negotiation. Up to today the team has not had a single conversation with my agent about a contract. Not one demand has been made by my agent about money years or anything else.' Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones speaks at training camp opening ceremonies at the River Ridge Fields on July 26, 2025. Kirby Lee-Imagn Images Advertisement Parsons appeared in 13 games last season and finished with 12 sacks and 12 tackles for loss. He also made the Pro Bowl for the fourth year in a row. The 26-year-old has reported to training camp but has not participated in on-field work. Parsons is one of the league's best pass rushers and would immediately help any team's Super Bowl chances, should Dallas actually move him.
