West Bengal LoP Suvendu Adhikari to launch protest for ‘Bengali Hindu homeland', targets ‘infiltrators'
'I will take to the streets after August 15 to demand a West Bengal free of Rohingyas and Bangladeshi infiltrators, as was imagined by Shyama Prasad Mookerjee as the Bengali Hindu homeland,' Mr. Adhikari told local media persons on Saturday (July 26, 2025).
Reiterating his demand for a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in West Bengal, on the lines of a similar exercise in Bihar, the BJP MLA alleged that several Muslim families in the State had married Bangladeshi Muslim women they met on social media, who were subsequently issued 'false Aadhar and EPIC cards' by the State government.
'Many of these Bangladeshi women stayed back with or without visas thanks to Mamata not fencing 540 km of our border. If 50 lakh voters are dropped in Bihar, 1 crore 25 lakh Bangladeshi Muslims and Rohingyas will get dropped in West Bengal,' Mr. Adhikari said.
Domicile certificates
Mr. Adhikari also alleged that the State government had directed district authorities to issue large numbers of domicile certificates. He said he would write to the Chief Election Commissioner of India, requesting that any certificates issued after July 26 not be accepted.
'The Chief Minister's Office of West Bengal directed district magistrates and sub-divisional officers yesterday to issue large numbers of domicile certificates for the districts of North and South 24 Parganas, Nadia, Murshidabad, Birbhum, Malda, North and South Dinajpur and Cooch Behar. They are distributing domicile certificates to Rohingyas and Bangladeshi Muslims,' Mr. Adhikari alleged.
He further claimed that 75,000 Bangladeshi Muslims across eight border districts had been issued Form 6 (application for inclusion in the electoral roll). 'I am warning district authorities of dire consequences if during their door-to-door voter surveys, they accept domicile certificates issued from today, July 26,' the BJP leader said.

Shimla, Jul 27(UNI) Himachal Pradesh Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi has strongly criticized BJP leaders and a few local businessmen in Thunag for allegedly insulting the national flag during a protest against the government's decision to shift the Horticulture College from Thunag to a safer location. Negi defended the Congress government's move to relocate the college, citing the recent flash floods and the risk to students' lives. "It is wrong to run a college in a disaster-prone area just to protect business interests of a few people," he said, adding that students living in rented homes in Thunag had themselves requested relocation due to repeated disasters in 2023 and 2024. The Minister said that BJP workers and a handful of shopkeepers tried to block the state government's decision and even created a scene during his visit to the area. 'They surrounded my vehicle, threw black cloths and a slipper-like object at it, and disrespected the tricolour mounted on the car,' he alleged. 'This act amounts to treason,' he added. Negi also questioned the BJP's silence over the incomplete infrastructure of the college. "Out of the total Rs 270 crore sanctioned, only Rs 10 crore was spent when BJP was in power," he claimed. He said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is personally monitoring the situation and relief work is going on without any resistance from the common people. 'Only some BJP leaders and businessmen are trying to politicize the issue,' Negi said. Negi further targeted BJP leader Dr. Rajeev Bindal, saying, 'The real shameful act is the insult of the national flag, not the relocation of the college meant to save lives.' Septuagenarian Nishikanta Das was also served a notice by the foreign tribunal. Although he appeared produced an Aadhaar card, EPIC and ration card at the hearing, the tribunal rejected these. Ghosh left Assam before getting a notice, saying she did not have the documents Assam govt was looking for.

1 2 Nagpur: In a landmark move to revolutionise early childhood education, India's first Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered Anganwadi was inaugurated in Nagpur district under the ambitious initiative Mission Bal Bharari. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis launched the pioneering project at Metro Bhavan, with several top dignitaries including Union minister Nitin Gadkari, state BJP president and guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and zilla parishad CEO Vinayak Mahamuni in attendance. The pilot Anganwadi, set up at Waddhamna in Hingna taluka, boasts cutting-edge technology such as Virtual Reality (VR) headsets, AI-integrated smart dashboards, and interactive digital learning content. "These facilities — rare even in premium private kindergartens — will be used to teach poems, songs, and curriculum in a highly engaging and innovative manner," said a senior official. What makes this initiative particularly impactful is its aim to bridge the educational divide between rural and urban areas. "This is an emotional resolution to ensure every child learns with joy, curiosity, and confidence," said Mahamuni, adding that the goal is to bring a historic transformation in Maharashtra's early childhood education system. As part of the mission, Anganwadi workers were trained to operate the advanced smart tools. The zilla parishad plans to expand this model by launching 40 more AI-powered Anganwadis across Nagpur district. "Through Mission Bal Bharari, we are committed to giving kids from rural backgrounds same trust, exposure, and facilities that children in metropolitan cities receive at home or in private kindergartens," the CM said. The launch event saw the presence of key political leaders including minister of state for agriculture Ashish Jaiswal, MLAs Krishna Khopde, Pravin Datke, and Sanjay Meshram, along with divisional commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari and district collector Vipin Itankar.
