Save £50 on ‘long lasting' Issey Miyake perfume shoppers say is their ‘desert island' scent
A great perfume can be one of the most important things in your beauty arsenal, helping you feel instantly confident and put together with a single spray. Some shoppers have even gone as far as to say that they would consider one perfume in particular their 'desert island' luxury.
The happy customer said: 'If you put me on a desert island and said I can have two luxuries, perfume would be one. Beautiful smell, absolutely love florals.' The perfume that's gotten such high praise is the Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Eau & Magnolia fragrance, with its fresh and floral scent being a big hit.
Although usually priced at £110 for 100ml, The Perfume Shop has now slashed the price of it to £59.99, saving you £50. This price cut makes the 100ml bottle work out cheaper than the 50ml, which is still priced at £64.99 – the perfect time to get more for your money.
There are also some other great perfume deals on at the moment, with Sephora offering up to 40% off its fragrances, including some big name brands like Prada, YSL and Gucci. Elsewhere LookFantastic is running a 50% off sale on selected perfumes for a limited time.
You can get 100ml of Calvin Klein Eternity for Women Eau de Parfum for £44.50 down from £89, whilst the Marc Jacobs Perfect Intense Eau de Parfum has been slashed to a much more affordable price. Usually available for £71 for a 30ml bottle, it's now on offer for £35.50.
The L'Eau d'Issey Eau & Magnolia however has zesty, refreshing notes combined with light florals and subtle earthy tones, making it a lovely fragrance to wear during the summer, although you could just as easily wear it year round. Those who've bought it have also said it's the perfect scent for any occasion, and can be worn both day and night.
It has top notes of bergamot and neroli for that zingy, fresh scent, with heart notes of rose and magnolia to bring soft, feminine floral hints. It finishes with sandalwood at the base to give it some depth.
Other reviews also praised the L'Eau d'Issey Eau & Magnolia perfume, with one writing: 'Wow. Just wow. I love it even more than expected. Everyone compliments me and asks what I'm wearing!!! Awesome!!'
Another agreed: 'Sample, long lasting scent that is not too strong, it's refreshing and light.'
Some weren't as much of a fan of the scent as others, with one shopper saying: 'The smell is alright, but I probably won't be getting anymore since it just really doesn't suit me. I do recommend for others try it out for themselves.'
Someone else wrote: 'This smelled like your typical floral scent! Nothing special about it. Didn't last too long either. Something I would keep in the car or somewhere for a quick spritz but wouldn't be a top pick or everyday wear perfume.'
However others couldn't get enough, writing: 'I really love this perfume, it is perfect for day and night and lasts a long time.'

Karen Pirie, review: no second series nerves for TV tec
**** THIS is only the second series of Karen Pirie, but it feels like Val McDermid's creation has been a member of the Society of Maverick Detectives (Scottish Division) forever. Like some sarky granddaughter of Taggart or a gallus cousin to Rebus, the character is so well-written and performed she is instantly believable - even if she does look like she's off to the big school after summer. Possibly the worst-dressed television detective ever, Pirie (played by Lauren Lyle) is back with her polo shirts, badly cut suits, three for a pound sports socks and - the horror - bum bag. Not even Prada could make that last item fashionable, but with Pirie it's all about the practicalities. Where else would she keep her phone and a spare chip for her shoulder? One thing she can't complain about is career progression. She is now a DI, her second giant leap up the ladder. While in two minds about this rapid rise into management, she does like that title. With more power comes a high-profile case, the biggest there is on the books. In 1984, oil heiress Catriona Grant and her baby son were kidnapped at gunpoint in a case dubbed 'Scotland's John Paul Getty' by the media. (Really? Sounds naff even for the 1980s.) Mother and child were never seen again. When remains are discovered in a quarry the investigation is rebooted with Pirie in charge. She has a whole squad room of helpers, including secret boyfriend DS Phil Parhatka and sidekick DC Jason Murray, aka 'Mint'. Bel the blogger, who spent series one nipping at Pirie's ankles, is back too. By far the biggest obstacle in Pirie's path is Catriona's oil tycoon father, a man used to getting his own way. Played by James Cosmo, the scenes between 'Sir Broderick' and Pirie crackle with tension. The old lion with the still terrifying roar versus a squeak of a lassie. Not that Sir Brodie calls her any such thing: it is left to another character, later in the three-part series, to address the elephant in the room that is Pirie's youth and stature. With six hours to fill, lots of hares are sent running. Slick editing makes the time fly by, while local viewers can enjoy a game of spot the location (bags I the Barrowland doubling as a Kirkcaldy nightclub). The series is not above the odd cliche, starting with moodily lit interrogation rooms (see 24 Hours in Police Custody. Similarly, Pirie and her superior, DCS Simon Lees (Steve John Shepherd) retain the stereotypically surly maverick and shouty boss relationship. Secondary characters are given room to shine, with 'Mint' still the best of the packet as the target of Pirie's teasing. What is clever about Pirie's character, and Lyle's interpretation of her, is that she is surrounded by people yet remains a stranger. She's tough yet not above tears, empathetic yet cold, driven but for what reason? Who is she, really? It's a measure of this belter of a crime drama that we cannot wait to find out.

Kayali's 'yummy' best selling vanilla scents are £12 each in Sephora set
Two 'yummy' vanilla fragrances are available at a bargain price in this deal Sephora shoppers are snapping up the brand's best selling vanilla scents for £12 each in a mini gift set. The 'yummy' perfumes still feature the iconic Kayali bottle design even in the miniature size, which makes them small enough to fit into any bag. Inside the set are two 5ml bottles of vanilla scents from the brand: the OG Vanilla 28 and the more recent addition Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar. The former blends together rich vanillas, warm brown sugar and velvety tonka while the latter is sweeter with candied pear, bubble gum and even violet. The set doesn't include a spray top, much like Penhaligon's £50 Ladies Fragrance Collection, which some shoppers find annoying. The perfumes are available in a 10ml size that does come with a spray top for £28 each. Charlotte Tilbury also has a giftset of three popular scents from her collection, currently reduced to £33.60, which includes spray tops. The set has pulled in an impressive 83 five-star reviews. One shopper said: "I have been a fan of Kayali since the first time I tried it, so it's no surprise that I loved these scents! The vanilla candy scent is one I haven't tried before but I got so many compliments, 10/10!" Another wrote: "Received this in my stocking for Christmas and let me tell you, it smell's incredible! I love sweet yummy scents and both of these do just that! I also love how adorable the little perfume bottles are, great packaging. Highly recommend these! Will definitely be buying the bigger bottles!" Some shoppers were annoyed that the bottles didn't come with a spray, forcing them to dab the perfume on instead. One wrote: "Loves these two, definitely will be getting a bigger size once these run out. I was a bit confused on how to use them because they don't have a spray part the clear top doesn't come off you have to pull the neck off to use it." Our very own perfume expert Jada Jones has tried both scents and said: " Vanilla 28 is a classic warm vanilla and something of an essential in any gourmand perfume collection. It is worth keeping in mind that the perfume is a dark brown colour which can show up on light clothing items so it's best to apply before getting dressed to avoid transfer.
