Emmerdale confirms huge Charity story as Cain is left in shock

Metroa day ago
Desperate to help granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), Emmerdale's Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) is about to make a very impulsive and life-changing offer.
Shortly after her cancer diagnosis, Sarah underwent an operation that left her devastated. There was a complication in surgery and as a result, she had to have a hysterectomy.
Due to this, Sarah can no longer carry a child. The development was so badly timed as just a few days prior, she was getting excited with friend Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) about her IVF process, and how it finally felt like becoming a mum was a dream within reaching distance.
Unable to grow a small human of her own, Sarah broke down to Cain recently. He felt terrible over the fact Sarah is only in this position because of an illness she has no control over, and became determined to help.
This was when Cain suggested surrogacy. It's certainly not the same as giving birth to your own baby – but it's one of the few options Sarah has left.
In upcoming episodes, Charity approaches Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) and asks her to be Sarah's surrogate. She is overwhelmed by the request, and Charity later senses that she isn't all too keen on the idea.
As Victoria chats to Robert (Ryan Hawley), Moira (Natalie J Robb) can't help but wonder if Cain is pushing aside his grief for Nate by focusing on Sarah's surrogacy. More Trending
After learning about Charity's chat with Vic, Sarah is furious that her Gran went behind her back. With Cain's efforts to find a surrogacy turning out to be a scam, Sarah resigns herself to the fact she will never be a mum.

Noticing how heartbroken her granddaughter is, Charity then impulsively decides to carry the baby for her.
When Cain finds out, he berates Charity for wanting to keep Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) in the dark about it.

Debbie makes a huge decision in Coronation Street as Ronnie is left reeling

Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney)'s recent dementia diagnosis on Coronation Street was a massive shock for a person who prides herself in being a strong, successful businesswoman. Debbie initially kept the diagnosis a secret, not wanting her family and friends to change the way they viewed her as she came to terms with the news. 'She wants to keep it to herself for as long as possible,' Sue Devaney said at the start of the storyline. 'She's going, 'I've been diagnosed with this, so how am I going to cope with it? I'll find out how I cope with it and then I'll tell my family.' She's gone about it that way.' Eventually Debbie had to open up to her loved ones about what was wrong, after she collapsed and Kevin (Michael Le Vell) and Abi (Sally Carman) wanted to take her to hospital. Telling the truth eventually allowed her to mend her relationship with Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan). Debbie had pushed Ronnie away, making out that she didn't love him, because she couldn't face him how their relationship might change in the future as her illness progressed. Ronnie has reassured her that he's going nowhere and is ready to be by her side to face whatever comes. This is due to be put to the test in upcoming episodes, as Debbie makes a massive decision which could potentially affect their future for a long time to come, without talking to Ronnie about it first. Ronnie and Debbie are keen to buy number 6 Coronation Street, the former home of Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King). They aren't the only couple interested, however, as Carla Connor (Alison King) and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) also have their eye on the house. Debbie is furious when she discovers that Carla has put in an offer, which has been accepted and she takes action. Ronnie is appalled to hear that Debbie has retaliated by placing a 'crazy' offer for the property, far above what it's worth. He begs her to retract the offer, but she stubbornly refuses, reminding Ronnie that she's a successful businesswoman and she knows what she's doing. More Trending It's Ronnie's belief that Debbie is so desperate to get the house because she wants to be on hand for her brother Kevin as he goes through more cancer treatment. Viewers know that Kevin is actually cancer free and his treatment has worked, after Dr Gaddas (Christine Mackie) congratulated him on the news. But he's still pretending to be ill because he's afraid Abi will leave him for his brother Carl (Jonathan Howard) otherwise. Eamonn Holmes and Fiona Phillips' real relationship off screen as star admits thing she 'hated'

Fiona Phillips and Eamonn Holmes presented GMTV together for almost a decade and were known for their great bond but it seems everything was not as smooth sailing between them behind closed doors. During Eamonn Holmes' nine year stint on the GMTV sofa, he presented the morning news alongside his former co-host Fiona Phillips. The presenting duo worked together on the ITV show from 1996 until 2005 when the Irish host made his exit, saying it was "right to move on". Fiona, 64, and Eamonn, 65, shared a close bond with the GB News presenter saying he would 'particularly miss their friendship' when he left as Fiona replied: "This is our ninth year together. I will miss him more than words can say." However, behind closed doors, the pair's relationship was not as smooth sailing as it seemed with Fiona recently confessing that Eamonn "wasn't the easiest person to work with". ‌ As the mum-of-two reflects on their time working together, here's the low down on their rocky friendship, starting with Fiona revealing the things that used to really irk her about working with Eamonn, the Mirror reports. ‌ Fiona Phillips accuses Eamonn Holmes of 'taking over' in interviews When Eamonn made his GMTV exit, he said: "What a privilege it has been to wake up the nation over the years with stories that affected all our lives. I've covered every type of story imaginable at GMTV and it's the right time to move on." Fiona joked she had spent more time with Eamonn than her own husband, GMTV boss, Martin Frizell, but recently told the Mail it "felt like a new opportunity" for her, having claimed she felt side-lined as his co-host. She also told the Mail that Eamonn "wasn't the easiest person to work with". ‌ She added: "For years, if there was a big interview to be done with a politician, Eamonn would lead the conversation and I was supposed to chip in with a few questions near the end - and I hated that." Bitter pay dispute Fiona and Eamonn were an iconic duo on the ITV show between 1996 and 2005 and had a lot of loyal viewers who enjoyed tuning in to watch them present together. However, Fiona has now claimed she was a "relative pauper" compared to her colleague, who she said was paid "significantly more" than her. ‌ Writing previously in her column for the Daily Mirror, she said that despite being hailed as 'the Queen of Breakfast Telly', she was 'a relative pauper in relation to my on-screen King, Eamonn Holmes.' She also claimed that her co-star received perks she wasn't deemed worthy of. She said: "Monetarily I was well adrift of my on-screen partner who also had 'perks' that I clearly wasn't deemed worthy of.' ‌ Eamonn in huge bust-up with Fiona's husband Eamonn and his ex-spouse, Ruth Langsford, reportedly had a huge row with Fiona's husband, Martin Frizell, who was the boss of GMTV. ‌ ‌ The row began after they were asked to host former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon with a Christmas bauble live on air ahead of the 2019 General Election. Martin reportedly asked Eamonn and Ruth to hand over the gift, and in exchange Nicola would give the two a traditional decoration. However, the Northern Irish presented did not like the idea and reportedly argued that presenting gifts would break strict impartiality rules for broadcasters in the weeks for the big election. ‌ A source told MailOnline: "Martin exploded, saying he was the editor and he decided what happened on the show. "He then refused to go to Eamonn's dressing room for the pre-show meeting with the presenters. "The producer was having to run back and forth between the news room and the dressing room to convey Eamonn's fury to Martin and Martin's fury to Eamonn."

ITV confirms 'incredible' period drama is finally ending after 11 years

Fans of one of ITV's longest-running dramas have been left 'heartbroken' after it was confirmed that it is finally ending after 11 years. The period detective series Grantchester starring Robson Green has long been a fan favourite, with the 60-year-old starring in the show from the very beginning along the likes of James Norton, Tom Brittney and now Rishi Nair in the lead role. But while both he and Nair will be returning as the crime-solving leads Geordie and Alphy in season 11, it will also be their last outing in the Cambridgeshire village. Commenting on the news of the show drawing to a close, Green said on Instagram: 'From the very beginning, I have had the incredible fortune to be part of this extraordinary team of talented, passionate, and dedicated individuals who have become more than colleagues. 'They have become family. I have made friendships forged through shared laughter, challenges, and triumphs. 'The bonds we've formed extend far beyond the camera lens, and I know that they will endure long after the final scene within the Grantchester world has been filmed. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey. 'It has been an honour to share in the magic of Grantchester, and I am forever grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the love that this journey has given me. I hope I made you proud.' Emma Kingsman-Lloyd, Executive Producer for Kudos, also said: 'We are absolutely delighted to be returning for another series of Grantchester adventures. 'After eleven incredible series, and the most wonderful experiences with a fantastic cast and crew, we have decided to bid a very fond farewell to our favorite crime fighting duo. 'Audiences are in for the most ambitious and thrilling series yet – Geordie and Alphy are going out with a bang!' Meanwhile, Nair commented online: 'It's been the greatest honor to step into the world of Grantchester and be part of a show with so much heart. 'Over two seasons — and now as we begin filming our third — I've had the privilege of telling stories that mean so much to so many, and I'm deeply thankful for that. 'As we begin filming this final chapter, I do so with a full heart and endless gratitude — for the memories, the friendships, and the incredible journey we've shared. To the entire cast and crew — thank you for your unwavering support, love, and warmth that you all bring onto set every day. 'Working alongside you all, and more importantly getting to know you, has been a true privilege and joy.' Writing on X, @barelytolerabIe said: 'Grantchester ending is bittersweet- it's had an incredible run! 11 seasons! High quality episodes! I'm still holding space for what could have been on other shows.' @nycev also wrote: 'This is one of the most wonderful shows… I watch each episode at least two times and sometimes three times. All excellent – actors, writing, setting, story.' @cherrie_vibes added: 'Nooo please this is devastating. This was my comfort show. We need a Leonard spin off!!!!' In addition, @lindakirk55 commented: 'A final season???😭😭. It's such a great show with great cast and storyline it should not be gone.' More Trending Grantchester Season 11 will see Alphy learn about his past and the other life he could have led, making him question who he is and what he believes in. Geordie is also offered the chance to finally be in charge, but it could also mean the end of his crime-solving days. The show's creators also teased that some 'huge decisions will be made'.
