Tegan Kuhns by the numbers in debut with Brewster baseball
Tennessee pitcher Tegan Kuhns made his debut with Brewster in the Cape Cod Baseball League on June 21. He started for the Whitecaps and pitched four innings, recording six strikeouts and 56 pitches (40 strikes).
Kuhns allowed three hits, zero runs and zero walks in Brewster's, 3-0, loss at Yarmouth–Dennis in Yarmouth, Massachusetts.
The 6-foot-3, 189-pound right-handed pitcher appeared in 15 games, including 10 starts, for the Vols as a freshman in 2025. He totaled 40 strikeouts and a 5.40 ERA in 36.2 innings. Kuhn's season high for innings pitched in a game was 4.1 at Alabama on March 22.
The Cape Cod Baseball League was founded in 1885 and is a collegiate summer league located on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.
Ten teams compete in the Cape Cod Baseball League, divided into East and West divisions. In 1985, the Cape Cod Baseball League became the first collegiate summer league to use wood bats.
The 2025 season began June 14 and is slated to conclude Aug. 3.

LAFC loses in Olivier Giroud's final game with the team
Emmanuel Sabbi scored on Vancouver's only shot on goal, Yohei Takaoka made four saves and the Whitecaps spoiled Olivier Giroud's farewell match with a 1-0 victory over LAFC on Sunday night. Giroud started and played 60 minutes in his final appearance for LAFC. The famed French forward is expected to sign with Lille after one disappointing year in Los Angeles during which he was largely an unproductive substitute, scoring just five goals in 38 matches. Giroud had a chance to go out with a bang when Denis Bouanga fed him an exceptional cross while he was unmarked deep in Vancouver's penalty area in the 50th minute, but Giroud volleyed it over the bar. Giroud still left the field to a standing ovation 10 minutes later, but LAFC failed to equalize without him in its first match back from a winless three-game stint at the Club World Cup. LAFC scored one goal in the entire FIFA tournament, but still netted at least $9.5 million for earning the final spot in the field. Back in Los Angeles, its nine-match unbeaten run in league play ended with even more offensive frustration against Vancouver. Takaoka secured his 10th clean sheet for the depleted Whitecaps, who won for just the second time in six matches while falling out of first place in the Western Conference. Vancouver doesn't have key contributors Brian White, Jayden Nelson and Sebastian Berhalter due to Gold Cup international duty. Sabbi scored in the 20th minute with an exceptional effort, starting a counterattack with a midfield steal before controlling Jeevan Badwal's pass in midair on the run and scoring his first goal since April 12. Backup goalkeeper David Ochoa made his first appearance for LAFC in place of Hugo Lloris, who got the day off after playing the entire Club World Cup.

2026 4-star ATH commits to Tennessee over Texas A&M
While head coach Mike Elko and company have been hot on the recruiting trail as of late, the program saw a four-star wide receiver prospect commit to the Tennessee Volunteers over the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday. It was down to the Aggies and the Vols, but when it came time for the final decision to be made, Legend Bey locked in his commitment to become Josh Heupel's 13th member of Tennessee's 2026 class. Bey spent most of his high school football career at the quarterback position, where he threw for 1,444 passing yards and 41 touchdowns. Per 247 Sports Player Recruiting Rankings, Bey is the No. 23 ATH and No. 49 player in the state of Texas. He also ranks as the No. 451 player in the country in the 2026 cycle. He received 36 total offers, including those from Ohio State, West Virginia, Duke, Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Oklahoma State. His elite speed and potential at wideout are why Bey will likely move from his normal position as a signal-caller to catching passes in Neyland Stadium for the Vols in 2026. Crystal ball predictions from 247 Sports had Elko and company with the highest probability of landing his commitment. Still, Heupel's spread offense spoke volumes to Bey in his transition to wide receiver. The speedy track and field star is highly touted for his ability to accelerate and find holes in opposing defenses quickly. His strong arm also makes him a dangerous threat for Heupel to use, with Bey already in talks to throw the ball around some in the Vols' offense. Following the last two days of multiple 2026 commits announcing their future destinations, the Aggies fell from No. 2 to No. 4 in 247 Sports Team Recruiting Rankings. Elko and crew have landed 21 hard commits for the upcoming class, including two five-star and 12 four-star prospects. After months on the trail trying to land Bey, the announcement from the track and field star is disappointing news for Texas A&M and the Aggie fans. There are more athletes on the radar that fans in Aggieland should keep their eyes on, however. Tennessee guard to play for Phoenix in NBA Summer League
Former Tennessee basketball guard Jordan Gainey will play in the 2025 NBA Summer League. He signed to play for Phoenix in the NBA Summer League, taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gainey, a native of Tucson, Arizona, played for the Vols from 2023-25 for head coach Rick Barnes after transferring from USC Upstate. He is the son of Tennessee associate head coach Justin Gainey. During his collegiate career, Jordan Gainey played in 138 games, averaging 11.7 points per game and recording a .358 three-point field goal percentage. During his senior season, he averaged 11.6 points per contest and totaled a .304 three-point percentage. The former Vol helped Tennessee advance to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament in each of the past two seasons, scoring at least 15 points in six of his final 10 games.
