Doctor Odyssey Delivers Another Pregnancy Shocker

Doctor Odyssey Delivers Another Pregnancy Shocker

Yahoo28-03-2025
While nobody puts baby in a corner, if you're Ryan Murphy, you're putting at least two babies on a ship.
Shania Twain has returned to ABC's Doctor Odyssey as horny widow Heather, and just as we expected, she and Captain Massey get pretty cozy.

Only minutes into Episode 12, the pair share a hot-and-heavy moment during Cougar Week — respectfully rebranded 'Sophisticated Ladies Week.' Though we don't actually get to witness Captain Massey making Twain's Heather feel like a woman, the seaman assures us the tryst was 'fire,' as the kids say. (Aye, Aye, Captain!)
And apparently that much heat doesn't just deliver drama, intimacy and intrigue, it also harnesses the power to conceive a whole baby! Despite saying she's in the throes of menopause, Heather tells Massey she has defied nature and is now a mommy-to-be.
You might be asking, 'But… how?' Avery, too, seems to share your skepticism, considering Heather's age. The nurse triple-checks Heather for plenty of health conditions that could result in a false positive pregnancy test. But our horny widow is the pinnacle of health — her pregnancy is real!
How does Massey respond to the big reveal? Better than Max and Tristan did when confronted with news like this! The Captain immediately reassures Heather that they're on this journey together. And later, when Heather experiences spotting and fears she has miscarried, Massey accompanies her to the infirmary. She ends up being fine, and Massey vows to use this opportunity to be a present father. (Does this mean he'll soon be departing the Odyssey?!)
In terms of Avery's own pregnancy, we don't have any updates. The father is yet to be revealed, and both Tristan and Max are still fumbling around trying to prove they each have what it takes to be Daddy Dearest.

Maggie Q Shares How Nikita Burnout Steeled Her for Taking Ballard Lead, Teases Reunion With Noah Bean

The fact of the matter is, kicking butt as TV's Nikita kicked Maggie Q's butt — and more than a bit. Even so, that four-season initiation-by-fire wound up preparing the actress to headline Ballard, Prime Video's Bosch: Legacy offshoot premiering Wednesday, July 9 (with all 10 episodes). More from TVLine Countdown: Eric Dane Weighs In on Team's First Big Loss - and Who Is Most Affected by It The Terminal List: Dark Wolf Drops First Trailer Ahead of August Premiere on Amazon And Just Like That Just Gave Us a Tiny Sex and the City Easter Egg - Do You Remember Her? Ordered to series in November, the new entry in the Bosch TV universe finds Detective Renée Ballard running the LAPD's new cold case division — a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit that operates out of an inglorious basement and is saddled with the largest case load in the city. The Ballard cast also boasts Courtney Taylor (Insecure) as Samira Parker, a wary ex-cop who returns to the force at Ballard's behest; John Carroll Lynch (Big Sky) as Thomas Laffont, Renée's former partner who un-retires to help her out; Michael Mosley (always Castle) as Ted, a reserve officer who is assigned to the unit to keep an eye on Ballard; Rebecca Field (All Rise) as Colleen, an enthusiastic (and eccentric) volunteer; Victoria Moroles (Teen Wolf) as Martina, the team's savvy legal intern; and Amy Hill (Magnum P.I.) as Ballard's spunky grandma, Tutu. In the TVLine video above, you can watch Maggie Q open up about the aforementioned Nikita burnout; below, you can find my complete Q&A with her about Ballard vs. Bosch mantras, the characters to watch for, and more. TVLINE | I stumbled into a rewatch back in May, and you wouldn't believe this: In Episode 4, the president deployed the National Guard to Michigan, the governor's wishes. Can you ?[Laughs] Well, also people didn't believe that 'designated survivor' was a real thing. They thought [the concept] was made up, and it actually isn't. TVLINE | When you and I spoke about it eight years ago, you suggested that was a solace at the time for some Absolutely. TVLINE | Harry Bosch famously says, 'Everybody counts, or nobody counts.' Is that equally true for Ballard, who is trying to get closure for people by solving cases that are five, 10, 20 years old? That is the line for Bosch, and something that I feel is true for most detectives. In Ballard's world, [her mantra] is, 'Dig down,' right– TVLINE | Ergo the tiny shovel on her key she keeps reminding herself to truth-seek, to keep going, keep digging. Even when you think you've dug enough, go further. I think she's just getting to 'Everybody counts, or nobody counts,' because in her eyes, everyone does count, especially in the Cold Case Unit, and especially these families that are waiting for closure and whatever peace she can give them. It's a great motivation for her, for sure. TVLINE | In that respect, is this almost a more 'pure' version of a detective character to play, because of that motivation? I think so. It's weird, because with cold cases there's no obvious urgency, and yet there is — because there's still a family waiting for answers, and they're waiting for you to care enough to continue to 'dig,' as we talked about. We get to explore a lot of that with victims' families in the show, we get to see what they go through and how long they wait, and what that does to their lives. These real-life detectives, a lot of what I've gotten from them is that they take that very personally, the family that's waiting for answers, and so yes, I think it does lend itself to this 'purity' of desire to help relieve that. I've seen that in many homicide detectives, as well as cold case detectives. TVLINE | Renée has an eclectic assortment of individuals working with her there in the basement. Which character dynamics are you most excited for people to see?Oh, gosh…. I love them all, in such different ways. Obviously the friendship with Parker, and the history that she has with Laffont and his care for her…. The way that she's trying to balance these volunteers is just bananas for her, because she's never had to lead a motley crew of people through something that's actually very serious. They're underfunded, forgotten… there are all these things that she's up against. TVLINE | ' don't tell me you think your psychic' [as she tells one volunteer].[Laughs] Isn't that the best? It's like herding cats, you've got to rein these people in. They all have good intentions, but that doesn't mean they're on the right track, so Ballard has to pull together all of these personalities — coming from ego, coming from their heart, coming from retirement…. Her trying to balance all of that makes for some levity in moments, but it also gives you some sympathy from the perspective of a person who is just trying to make everything work. It's not as easy as it looks! TVLINE | I wasn't keeping track of the casting, and boom, there in the first episode, Noah Bean walks in as a councilman who's riding Ballard to solve his sister's murder case. What was it like reuniting with your co-star?Oh, I love Noah. He's such a quality actor. There were three people they were considering for that, and I may have told them that I really enjoy working with him and that he'd actually play the role perfectly. And he did — he knocked it out of park and he got the role. He's featured in the trailer, so a lot of people started going, 'Wait a minute, Nikita and Ryan Fletcher are back together?!' [Laughs] That was kind of cool. TVLINE | Was Shane West a runner-up for the role?He was not. [Laughs] Shane West as a city councilman is a little less believable than Noah Bean. TVLINE | Which of your past TV roles do you wish you'd gotten to play longer?[Thinks a minute] None of them…? I was burnt out. I enjoyed Nikita so much [but] after four years, I was so burnt out, because I approached it with movie energy, I approached it very idealistic. I was so naive to think that I was going to be able to carry the show for 10 months [out of the year], and know how to do that. One of the producers, he had worked on Buffy [the Vampire Slayer] for seven years and saw what [Sarah] Michelle [Gellar] had gone through. He sat me down and said, 'Maggie, do you know what you're in for?' And I'm like, 'I'm a hard worker! I have a great work ethic!,' thinking I could just will it and give everything. The reality is I was too young to know how to pace myself, and where to give and where to pull back. Now that I'm older and I've been No. 1 [on the call sheet] several times, I have the patience and the wisdom to know how to do that. With Ballard, it's been invaluable, because without that [experience] I would never know where the push and pull began and ended. TVLINE | That's what , that being the 'The' in a title — , — can be my goodness. The one-hour drama is the hardest job in Hollywood. It is really, really exhausting. Countdown: Eric Dane Weighs In on Team's First Big Loss — and Who Is Most Affected by It

The following contains spoilers from the July 2 episode of Prime Video's . Task Force Hurricane weathered a big loss this Wednesday. More from TVLine Ironheart Boss Talks About [Spoiler] Finally Joining the MCU, and Where/If Finale Cliffhanger Will Get Resolved The Terminal List: Dark Wolf Drops First Trailer Ahead of August Premiere on Amazon Étoile Cast Shares Disappointment About Ballet Dramedy's Cancellation, Wants to 'Celebrate the Fact That It Existed' Yes, Prime Video's Countdown last week opened with — and was set in motion by — the murder of a DHS agent, played by guest star Milo Ventimiglia. But in Episode 4, the task force assembled by Special Agent in Charge Nathan Blythe (Euphoria's Eric Dane) — comprised of LAPD detective Mark Meachum (Supernatural's Jensen Ackles), DEA undercover vet Amber Oliveras (All Rise's Jessica Camacho), LAPD gangs unit officer Lucas Finau (Young Rock's Uli Latukefu), and FBI agents Evan Shepherd (The Flash's Violett Beane) and Keyonte Bell (The Boys' Elliot Knight) — sustained a personal loss when DHS intelligence offer Damon Drew (The Chosen's Jonathan Togo) died from the gunshot he sustained outside the dance hall where Meachum had unknowingly come face to face with prime target Volchek. 'Officer Drew… Damon… died in surgery,' Blythe shared with the team in the cold open, after getting the bad news from the doctors. 'They said he lost too much blood. They did everything they could, but….' Afterwards, Blythe brought Shepherd with him as he delivered the death notification to Drew's wife Cora (Dexter: Original Sin's Amanda Brooks). Later, back at HQ, he reminded the team of who Drew was, and how now was not the time to fall off Volchek's scent. 'Damon Drew was a man who loved his family, his job, his country…,' Blythe noted. 'He knew the pressures and the dangers, and the relentlessness of chasing down threats who wished to do harm to the United States… and he did so with grace and determination.' Blythe suggested that the task force had already disrupted Volchek's plans, and as such, 'Now is not the time to retreat.' Rather, 'I'd like us to focus and be the elite task force I know we can be. Can we do that?' The team implicitly nodded en masse, but how will Blythe himself hold up? After all, the little we'd gotten to know about Mason was via glimpses of him coaching his late son's Little League team, or through brief heart-to-hearts with longtime friend Blythe. Speaking with TVLine, Eric Dane affirmed that his team leader 'absolutely' will be the one most impacted by Mason's death. Speaking in character, he reminded, 'I had worked with Drew for a while, I knew his family, I knew his child, I knew his history….' As asked by their boss, Meachum, Oliveras et al indeed kept their nose to the grindstone and — with a clever assist from Shepherd, who realized she favored POI Mihail's co-ed daughter — leveraged the man who shot Mason into setting up a meeting with Volchek. Alas, the team staking out the tarmac that night was duped by a stand-in for the elusive terrorist. Ugh. In the wake of that setback, Blythe told the team, 'Every investigation I've been a part of has had its peaks and valleys. This is a valley, for sure, but we're going to find this guy, and we're going to stop him.' He then invited Cora, who was on hand for the installation of a plaque in Agent Mason's memory, to inspire the team further. 'I wanted look you in the eye and tell you that what Drew would want, what I want, is for you to finish what he started,' she said. What did you think of Episode 4, the aftermath of Mason's death, and the airport fake-out? Want scoop on , or for any other TV show? Hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs acquitted on most serious charges in split verdict

Hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been found guilty of two of the five charges he faced in his racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking trial. On count one of the five-count indictment – racketeering conspiracy – the jury found Combs not guilty. On count two – sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, pertaining to Cassie Ventura – the jury found Combs not guilty. On count three – transportation to engage in prostitution, also pertaining to Ventura – the jury found Combs guilty. On count four – sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, pertaining to the woman identified by the pseudonym "Jane" – the jury found Combs not guilty. On count five of the indictment – transportation to engage in prostitution, also pertaining to "Jane" – the jury found Combs guilty. Combs faces a maximum prison sentence of 10 years for each count of transportation to engage in prostitution. Following six weeks of testimony presided over by U.S. District Court Judge Arun Subramanian that saw the prosecution present 34 witnesses and the defense present none, the jury of eight men and four women deliberated just over two days days before reaching their verdicts. Tune into ABC at 10/9c Wednesday for an ABC News special, 'Verdict: The Diddy Trial,' on the Sean 'Diddy' Combs trial, and streaming next day on Hulu and Disney+. Subramanian said he will decide whether Combs get released today. He said that the decision might take some time – including giving the lawyers time to write letters arguing for and against release – but that it will happen sometime today. Prosecutors asked for a 'few hours.' Comey said the government plans to pursue 'significant incarceration' for Combs. Court is adjourned for now. Combs got down from his chair and knelt on the floor after the verdicts were read, appearing to pray while some of his attorneys embraced. Marshalls then escorted Combs out of the courtroom while some spectators in the gallery cheered and applauded. MORE: Everyone who testified for the prosecution in the Sean 'Diddy' Combs trial Combs was initially indicted in September 2024 on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking by force and transportation to engage in prostitution. A superseding indictment in March 2025 included additional allegations of forced labor under the racketeering conspiracy count, while another superseding indictment the following month added an additional charge of sex trafficking and one of transportation to engage in prostitution Federal prosecutors accused Combs of using his many businesses, and the people he employed to run them, to conduct a criminal enterprise to illegally coerce women into sex and conceal his alleged illicit conduct to protect his reputation. The alleged activities included "sex trafficking, forced labor, interstate transportation for purposes of prostitution, coercion and enticement to engage in prostitution, narcotics offenses, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice," according to the indictment. In addition to the racketeering charge, the indictment also included two separate counts each of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution, both involving two alleged victims. Combs' attorneys countered that Combs may well be a violent man – one who indulges in unconventional sexual conduct, abused illegal drugs and committed domestic violence – but he wasn't part of a broader criminal organization. 'This case is about those real-life relationships, and the government is trying to turn those relationships into a racketeering case,' Combs' attorney, Teny Geragos, told jurors in her opening statement. 'The evidence is going to show you a very flawed individual, but it will not show you a racketeer, a sex trafficker, or somebody transporting for prostitution.' MORE: Sean 'Diddy' Combs rejects plea deal ahead of sex trafficking trial The prosecution called 34 witnesses over six weeks of testimony, beginning with Combs' former girlfriend Cassie Ventura, whom Combs was seen physically assaulting in a widely circulated hotel surveillance video from 2016. Other witnesses included two alleged Combs victims who testified under the pseudonyms "Mia" and "Jane," as well as two male escorts to testified that they were paid to participate in so-called "freak-off" sexual encounters with Combs, Ventura and other alleged victims. The jury also heard from witnesses to alleged abuse and sexual acts, and a forensic psychologist who testified regarding why people often remain in abusive relationships. One of the most high-profile prosecution witnesses was Scott Mescudi, aka rapper Kid Cudi, who testified that he was told Combs allegedly broke into his home and had someone set his car on fire after learning that he was dating Cassie Ventura. Combs previously denied any involvement in the car fire. The defense, which twice during testimony unsuccessfully asked the judge to declare a mistrial, called no witnesses before resting their case on June 24, just two hours after the prosecution rested theirs, electing only to read additional evidence into the court record. Combs told the court at that time that he did not wish to take the stand in his own defense. Federal prosecutors the following day told Judge Arun Subramanian that they were no longer including attempted kidnapping and attempted arson as underlying crimes in the alleged racketeering conspiracy charge against Combs. Instead, prosecutors signaled that they would push sex trafficking and forced labor as primary predicate acts that the jury could find to convict Combs of racketeering conspiracy. Defense attorneys had argued that no evidence was presented directly tying Combs to the arson that damaged rapper Kid Cudi's vehicle. Defense attorneys also argued that the alleged kidnapping of Combs' former employee, Capricorn Clark, by Combs to confront Kid Cudi was far removed from the heart of the case. Federal prosecutors did not elaborate on their decision in their letter to the judge. The prosecution delivered a nearly five-hour-long closing argument on Thursday, June 26, summarizing 28 days of testimony and evidence. The defense spent four hours the next day presenting their summation, followed by the prosecution rebuttal. Deliberations began on Monday, June 30 after Judge Arun Subramanian gave the jury their instructions. On Tuesday, the jury told the court that they'd reached a verdict on four of the five five counts with which Combs was charged, they were unable to reach a verdict on the first count -- racketeering conspiracy -- prompting the judge to instruct them to continue deliberations. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
