Linkin Park Reaches A Career Landmark For The First Time
'In the End' is the song that started it all for Linkin Park, so it makes sense that the tune remains the most popular in the band's discography. Even after decades of smashes and successful albums, no other cut has been able to top 'In the End' in the Grammy-winning act's catalog, as people all around the world continue to buy and stream the track.
The single, which somehow appealed to everyone from the most intense hard rock superfan to top 40 pop lovers, helps Linkin Park reach a new milestone on one of Billboard's worldwide tallies this week.
'In the End' Hits a Milestone 100 Weeks
'In the End' has now lived on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. for 100 weeks. That list ranks the most consumed tracks all around the world — excluding streams and sales coming from American listeners — as it aims to paint a picture of what the rest of the planet is listening to.
This moment is a first for Linkin Park, as 'In the End' is the band's only tune to rack up triple-digit stays on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Following behind the introductory single is 'Numb,' which is now up to 81 weeks on the tally, a figure it adds to once again this time around. 'The Emptiness Machine' follows in third, with only 43 appearances on the same roster.
'In the End' Never Hit the Top 40
Despite its longevity, 'In the End' has never managed to crack the top 40 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., though it has come close. Last fall, when Linkin Park began to roll out music from its then-forthcoming comeback album From Zero, 'In the End' rocketed to No. 42, which remains its all-time high.
The hard rock tune originally arrived in October 2020, when Billboard's global rankings were still brand new. This week, it dips slightly to No. 70, falling just one space.
Linkin Park Scores Multiple Worldwide Wins
'In the End' also ranks as Linkin Park's sturdiest hit on the Billboard Global 200. On that ranking, the cut reached 100 weeks less than a month ago. At the moment, it sits just two spaces behind where it lands on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S.
Linkin Park fills a trio of spots on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. at present, as 'In the End,' 'Numb,' and 'The Emptiness Machine' all find space. 'In the End' is also a hit in America, as it rises on the Alternative Streaming Songs chart and holds at No. 1 yet again on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs tally.

Kelly Clarkson Duets With Daughter River Rose on ‘Heartbeat Song' During Vegas Residency Show
Kelly Clarkson turned her Friday night (July 18) performance at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace into a family affair. During her Studio Sessions residency gig, the talk show host and pop superstar invited 11-year-old daughter River Rose out to join her on stage for a very special duet. In an Instagram post of the mommy-daughter moment, Clarkson wrote, 'Last night we had a very special guest, my daughter River Rose, joined us for 'Heartbeat Song.' It's her favorite song,' alongside an image of her kneeling down on stage to touch foreheads with her eldest child. Snuggling up to the tween — who, like her famous mother was wearing dark wash jeans and a bedazzled T-shirt — Clarkson told River Rose she looked 'super cute' before revved the band up to play the lead 2015 single from her seventh studio album, Piece by Piece. River Rose hung in there like a champ, doubling Clarkson's vocals and swaying along in unison as she smiled and belted out the song, even holding a big note at the end that made the singer smile proudly. Staring into each other's eyes and touching foreheads, mother and daughter landed the plane while joyfully singing the chorus in unison. 'This is my heartbeat song and I'm gonna play it/ Been so long, I forgot how to turn it/ Up, up, up, up all night long/ Up, up all night long,' they sang, bouncing in place together as the band dropped out and the two sang the chorus one more time while giving a sweet boop finger tap to each other's foreheads. In a testament to a life lived with a pop star mom, River Rose gave the crowd a sassy power pose after hugging Clarkson, who asked the crowd to 'give it up for River Rose y'all, c'mon!' before planting a kiss on the tween's cheek as she walked off. Back in 2023 during her first Vegas residency run at the Bakkt Theater, Clarkson first told the crowd that 'Heartbeat Song' was River's favorite, bringing the then 9-year-old out on stage to belt the tune out. 'She's been jamming to this song since she was a baby,' Clarkson told her fans back then. In addition to River Rose, Clarkson shares son Remington 'Remy' Alexander, 9, with ex Brandon Blackstock. Clarkson will be back on stage at the Colosseum on Friday (July 25). 'They were just so uncomfortable with what it was that they chose a ton of things to complain about,' Shinoda explained. 'They're pointing in 10 different directions saying: 'This is why I'm mad, this is why the band sucks.'' 10 Linkin Park in the press room at the 48th Grammy Awards in 2006. Collaborator on New Justin Bieber Album 'Swag' Says He Was ‘Mad Cool'
Putting aside whatever speculation, rumors and chatter surround Justin Bieber in recent months, one thing remains certain: his talent as a musician is undeniable. Going one step further, the process of working with Bieber has largely received high praise from those collaborating on his albums. That fact stood true again on Bieber's newest album, Swag, which features collaborations with several names and various artists. This includes Cash Cobain, whose debut studio album, Play Cash Cobain, was released in 2024. During an interview with GQ, Cobain spoke about the process of working with Bieber and explained how the duo came together to create the song "Swag." Cobain revealed that he messaged Bieber after the 31-year-old showed love by posting his song Trippin on a Yacht. 'I wrote bro like, 'We got to get some work in,'' Cash recalls. 'So I'm like, all right, boom—took bro's number down and then we was chopping it up for, I don't know, a couple days.' Cash said that Bieber reached out to him when he was in New York and met the pop star at his house, where there were several producers, rappers and artists. The 27-year-old rapper then detailed to GQ what the creative process was like working alongside Bieber, calling him "mad cool." 'You might think Justin Bieber would be on some other s---, but bro is mad cool. It was just natural...' Cash recalls, saying that Bieber was very loose in communicating a specific vibe that he was shooting for when making the song. 'He was just like, 'Swag. Swag, bro.' He on some swag s---. That's [all] him right there.' Cash went on to praise Bieber's first song on the album Swag, saying that the first song stood out to him, calling the beat something he's never heard anyone "really try to emulate." Bieber's 21-song album features credits to a few well-known names, including 2 Chainz for background vocals on "Yukon." The same song gives credit to Eminem as a composer-lyricist, but as Billboard details, that stems from an interpolation of a line from Eminem's "Untitled," a song on his 2010 album on New Justin Bieber Album 'Swag' Says He Was 'Mad Cool' first appeared on Men's Journal on Jul 17, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword
