Rod Stewart's touching message to Penny Lancaster after sharing health fears

Daily Mirror11 hours ago
Penny Lancaster, wife of Sir Rod Stewart, has opened up about the heartfelt words her husband expressed following a significant achievement in his illustrious career.
After enduring a particularly tough few weeks, the legendary singer celebrated a momentous occasion last month with his triumphant return to Glastonbury Festival.
Sir Rod's eagerly awaited comeback on the prestigious Pyramid Stage was shrouded in uncertainty as health issues forced him to reschedule and scrap several performances prior to the event.
In the run-up to the festival, he informed his fans via Instagram that he had to postpone and cancel some of his US tour dates, suffering from what Penny referred to as the "worst" kind of flu "you can get."
He announced the cancellation of three Las Vegas shows and one in Lake Tahoe, while his June 12 performance in Rancho Mirage, California, and his June 15 gig in Paso Robles, California, were moved to September 20 and 21, reports Edinburgh Live.
However, in a recent chat with Hello! magazine, Penny revealed that Sir Rod initially feared he wouldn't recover in time for Glastonbury, confessing to her: "I don't think I'm going to be well enough. I tried my voice out, and it's not working."
Defying expectations, Sir Rod Stewart made a triumphant return to Glastonbury on June 29, taking the Legends Slot on the Pyramid Stage by storm.
Penny Lancaster was there to celebrate his performance, describing him as having the "biggest grinning face" and congratulating him with a heartfelt "You did it," as he came off stage.
Sir Rod, not one to hog the limelight, quickly returned the praise to Penny, affectionately remarking: "I couldn't have done it without you."
The couple's romance began back in 1999, following Sir Rod's separation from his former wife, Rachel Hunter. After an eight-year courtship, they exchanged vows in the picturesque Italian village of Portofino on June 16, 2007.
Penny recently shared that Sir Rod had battled through what she termed the "worst" flu, but he's now gearing up to resume his global tour.
Fans can look forward to seeing Sir Rod perform across the US, with future gigs planned in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria later this year.

'Love Island USA' star Yulissa Escobar reacts to Cierra Ortega's sudden departure

Former 'Love Island USA' contestant Yulissa Escobar is addressing Cierra Ortega's departure from the show, calling for compassion over cyberbullying . In a TikTok video posted July 7, Escobar, 27, drew parallels between her experience and Ortega's abrupt removal from the villa in Episode 30. Both left 'Love Island USA' after posts containing racial slurs resurfaced. A spokesperson for Peacock declined to comment to (Peacock is owned by NBCUniversal, TODAY and NBC News' parent company.) 'I know what she did was wrong but we need to stop fighting hate with hate,' Escobar said in the video. 'The cyberbullying has gone to another level.' Following her removal from the show in June after Episode 2, Escobar issued an apology. In her recent video, the former Islander acknowledged that both she and Ortega made mistakes and didn't minimize the harm caused by their words. 'I'm not justifying what I did, I know what I did and what I said was wrong, and I know what Cierra said was wrong and I know it hurt communities,' she said. Escobar emphasized that while she doesn't condone the language used, the online harassment both women have faced crosses a line. 'When I was in that hotel room in Fiji and I was looking at those messages I was getting, I was honestly scared to come home,' Escobar said. 'I was like, is something going to happen to me? Is someone going to do something to me? Because it was just a lot to take in, and even my family was worried.' Now, she's worried about Ortega facing similar threats. 'Instead of sending such disgusting messages to her and her family ... try to educate us,' Escobar said. 'Her, me, I said something in the past that was wrong, she did too, like try to educate people so we can grow as a community.' Escobar expressed particular concern for Ortega's mental health, noting that she doesn't know if the former Islander is 'OK' and saying she wished she could check on her well-being. 'I'm speaking up for everybody in that island, I'm speaking up for Cierra, not because I don't know what she did was wrong … but I just feel for her mental health and I'm scared, I'm worried for her,' she said. Escobar concluded her video with a message of unity. 'We need to stick together, we can't continue this division we need to unite and teach people. That's how we're going to grow as a community, and we have younger generations that are watching this show and we're not teaching them to be better,' she said. The 'Love Island USA' finale is set to air on July 13, with the recent controversies casting a shadow on the season's conclusion. Ortega has not publicly addressed her departure. Her parents issued a statement posted to her Instagram story, both acknowledging Ortega's actions and asking for an end to 'threats' and 'cruel messages.' 'As Cierra's parents, this has been one of the most painful weeks of our lives,' the post began. 'We're not here to justify or ignore what's surfaced. We understand people are upset, and we know accountability matters. But what's happening online right now has gone far beyond that.' The post said Ortega will 'face this with honesty, growth and grace' when she returns from Fiji, where the show is filmed. 'While she'll always be our little girl, she's also a woman, one who will take responsibility in her own time and her own voice,' the post read.

Coco Austin's latest 'micro thong' snaps leave fans stunned in her wildest post yet

On Tuesday, Nicole 'Coco' Austin stunned her captive, combined 14.4M social media following by sharing gratuitous snaps of her famously curvaceous 'booty' which had been specifically 'requested' by fans. The 46-year-old buxom model left very little to the imagination posing in her star-spangled micro-thong bikini on the Fourth of July while poolside in what might have been Arizona as she had stopped by the spa AZ Body Bar in Gilbert on June 27. 'We asked for the back,' Instagram user @gilramz commented with excited emojis. 'We got the back.' Instagram user @peril_la_tigre jokingly wrote: 'The [1999 Sisqó] song says, "let me see your thong" - yours plain disappeared!' 'That booty has to be deemed one of the wonders of the world at this point,' Instagram user @d_bo_fresh marveled. 'Love ya @coco!' And Instagram user @ang6007 wanted a Kylie Jenner-style breakdown of Coco's secret: 'Seriously what are you doing? Fat transfers? No way your booty is getting bigger over 45. Mine has grown in gym and I know fat transfers help too. Keep it real sis.' Back in 2012, Austin appeared on the sydnicated talk show The Doctors where plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon performed an ultrasound to scan for butt implants, and he quickly declared: 'Coco's buttocks are 100% real.' However, in nineties-era modeling snaps the Tarzana-born, Albuquerque-raised bombshell Instastoried on Tuesday, her derrière appeared much smaller and more natural. Coco has clearly undergone the same suspicious hip and rear-boosting tactics as celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.

Chicago's legendary Mr. Beef is popping up in L.A. for one weekend only

If you've been spending the last few weeks simultaneously thirsting over Jeremy Allen White (yes, chef!) and salivating over the on-screen food while watching The Bear season 4, this is the culinary pop-up for you: On Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20, Chicago's own Mr. Beef —purveyors of the iconic Italian beef sandwiches that served as the inspo for the Berzatto family's Original Beef of Chicagoland" from the FX show—will be popping up in Los Angeles for a one-weekend-only takeover. Courtesy of cookware brand HexClad, the Windy City restaurant will be coming to cult-favorite L.A. sandwich shop Uncle Paulie's Deli (8053 W 3rd Street) to give Angelenos a taste of classic Chicago, with Mr. Beef's classic Italian beef sandwich (dipped in homemade au jus, loaded with tangy giardiniera and served on French bread) available for purchase from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. But note, those sandwiches are on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early to get ahead of the anticipated sell-out. Ensuring the authenticity of the world-famous sammie, Mr. Beef owner Chris Zucchero will be on site, as will Courtney Storer, a Chicago native and the culinary director for The Bear. Storer will also be serving her Coco's to Go-Go Homemade Italian Ice. Attendees will also be treated to a complimentary pickle cart sponsored by HexClad, and will be able to grab limited-edition merch of the Mr. Beef pop-up. Long before The Bear fans were crushing over fictional chef Carmy Berzatto, the very real Mr. Beef was serving up Italian beef sandwiches in Chicago's River North area, since all the way back in 1979. This is the second year in a row that the no-frills Chicago restaurant has brought its Windy City wonders to the West Coast, with a Mr. Beef pop-up having come to Uncle Paulie's last summer as well.
