Why is KTR holding secret talks with A.P. Minister: Congress

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) media committee chairman Sama Ram Mohan Reddy alleged that BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao was holding secret talks with Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh and demanded the latter explain the intention of these secret meetings.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, Mr. Reddy accused former minister KTR of being hypocritical, stating that the BRS government had neglected farmers during its decade-long rule, and was now trying to defame the Congress government with wild allegations. He challenged KTR to a debate at the Telangana martyrs' memorial here on Monday, questioning his credibility to speak on farmers' welfare.
Referring to the Banakacherla project proposed by the Andhra Pradesh government, Mr. Ram Mohan Reddy emphasised that the Revanth Reddy government was fighting for Telangana's just share in the Godavari and Krishna rivers, while the BRS leader was holding secret talks with the Andhra Pradesh Minister.

Minister Bandi Sanjay Attacks Congress, Alleges Special Treatment To Akbaruddin Owaisi

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar launched a scathing attack on the Telangana government on Monday, questioning alleged special exemptions granted to AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi's family and condemning alleged threats against media houses. Speaking to reporters in Jagtial district after inaugurating Central development projects, the Union minister alleged double standards and demanded a clarification from the Congress-led Revanth Reddy government in Telangana. Bandi Sanjay specifically questioned the Hyderabad Development Authority (HYDRA), stating, "Are the HYDRA authorities demolishing the houses of the poor in the name of encroachments, but giving exemptions to Akbaruddin Owaisi's family, who have built buildings in lakes and ponds and are running colleges and businesses there?" He cited claims by HYDRA that they cannot demolish illegal constructions at Mr Owaisi's college due to the presence of 10,000 students, contrasting this with the demolition of "small houses and huts built by poor people in the Musi river catchment areas, who have no source of livelihood or shelter". "Do only the lives of Akbaruddin Owaisi's family have value? Don't the lives of poor people matter? Are they not human?" the minister asked, accusing the government of turning a blind eye to alleged transgressions by AIMMIM leaders, including non-payment of electricity bills and encroachment. The Union Minister also strongly criticised the alleged preparations by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders to attack the offices of Andhra Jyothi and other news outlets for publishing critical stories. "When media houses are being attacked, what is the chief minister doing? What is the government doing?" he demanded. Reminding Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of the time he was jailed, Mr Sanjay asked, "Weren't you jailed unjustly and denied bail? Have you forgotten all that and now joined hands with them (the BRS)?" The BJP, he said, would "always stand at the forefront in protecting democracy and press freedom". Daring BRS leaders, he added, "Attack the media houses and see what happens. Within two hours of your attack, our BJYM (BJP youth wing) activists will take care of your BRS office and the TV channel in it. Telangana is no longer BRS' fiefdom."

Negligence Leaves Jurala Floodwaters Untapped: BRS Leader Venkataramulu Slams Revanth Govt Over Irrigation Crisis in Nadigadda

Gadwal: Despite early and heavy monsoon rains leading to abundant inflows into the Priyadarshini Jurala Project, the failure to deliver this water to the associated reservoirs under the Nettempadu Lift Irrigation Scheme has drawn strong criticism from BRS senior state leader Nagar Doddi Venkataramulu. In a press statement released on Sunday, Venkataramulu condemned the gross negligence of local public representatives and irrigation officials, holding them responsible for the current irrigation crisis in Nadigadda region. According to the BRS leader, though the Jurala project has been receiving heavy floodwaters, the failure to pump this water to Guddemdoddi Reservoir (1 TMC capacity) and Ryalampadu Reservoir (2 TMC capacity)—which were constructed under the Nettempadu Lift Irrigation Scheme—has deprived thousands of farmers in the Nadigadda area of essential irrigation. He revealed that for the past 15 days, authorities have suspended water pumping operations, citing 'leakage issues,' thereby allowing floodwaters from Jurala to flow downstream unused, instead of diverting them to fill smaller reservoirs like Chinnonipally, Tatikunta, Sangala, and Nagar Doddi. 'This is a clear-cut example of administrative negligence and failure of leadership in the region,' Venkataramulu asserted. Further intensifying his criticism, he pointed out that floodwaters reached the Srisailam Project as early as May 30, yet even after 36 days, the motors under the Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Scheme have not been activated. 'Since the formation of Telangana, this government under Revanth Reddy has used the least amount of Krishna river water,' he stated, alleging that the Congress government is deliberately weakening Telangana's irrigation systems. Venkataramulu made a serious accusation that Revanth Reddy had surrendered 65 TMC of Krishna waters to Andhra Pradesh for the benefit of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, questioning, 'What is the secret deal between you and Chandrababu, Revanth Reddy?' He also highlighted that while a 'crop holiday' has been declared in Mahabubnagar district, water is being diverted to Andhra Pradesh for cultivating a third crop, further betraying the interests of Telangana farmers. The BRS leader issued a strong warning, stating that if irrigation water is not immediately released to fill local reservoirs, ponds, and tanks, thousands of farmers will be forced to march to the Jurala Project and manually switch on the motors themselves as a mark of protest. Venkataramulu called for urgent action from the state government and irrigation authorities to prioritize the water needs of Mahabubnagar district farmers, failing which, a mass farmers' movement would be inevitable. Heavy rains led to floodwaters reaching Jurala, but irrigation reservoirs remain dry. Officials stopped water pumping for 15 days citing 'leakage.' BRS leader blames local MLAs and irrigation department for negligence. Srisailam received floods 36 days ago, but Kalwakurthy pump houses are still inactive. Allegations against Revanth Reddy for giving 65 TMC to Andhra for Chandrababu Naidu. Farmers in Mahabubnagar facing water shortage while Andhra is getting water for third crop. Threat of mass agitation by farmers if immediate action is not taken. This situation highlights the growing dissatisfaction among Telangana farmers, particularly in the Mahabubnagar region, over what they see as systemic neglect and policy betrayal under the current state administration.

Why is Congress protecting the BRS leaders: Bandi Sanjay

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged that the Congress government was protecting the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and siding with the BRS rulers involved in the loot of crores of rupees of public money in the name of Kaleshwaram project, phone tapping and Formula-E cases. 'It is a reflection of the Congress government's incompetence,' he said while speaking to the media in Venkatraopeta village in Medipalli mandal after laying foundation stones for various development works funded by the Central government in Jagtial district on Monday. Taking a dig at the BRS for its threatening tone against the media organisation, Mr. Sanjay alleged that a group of BRS leaders attacked a private Telugu news channel office over a week ago. Now, after a Telugu newspaper published an editorial against them, the BRS leaders were preparing to attack the newspaper and the channel run by the same management, he claimed citing intelligence inputs. 'If the BRS goons who attacked the TV office had been arrested and dealt with strictly, today's situation wouldn't have arisen,' he said. He said the BJP was fully ready to protect democracy and stand by the media. 'Lakhs of our party workers across Telangana will stand in support.' The Minister also alleged that the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) was demolishing the houses of the poor in the name of encroachments, but giving exemptions to Owaisi's college building in the lakebed in the old city of Hyderabad. Mr. Sanjay asked, 'The HYDRAA authorities claim they cannot demolish illegal constructions in Akbaruddin's college because 10,000 students are studying there. But why did they demolish small houses and huts built by poor people in the Musi River catchment areas, who have no source of livelihood or shelter?' The State government owes an explanation over this matter, he said.
