The Real Reason Trump Didn't Attend Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sanchez's Wedding After the Amazon Founder's Complicated History With the President
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding guest list included a who's who of billionaires, from Oprah Winfrey to Kim Kardashian, but one name missing was President Donald Trump. White House officials confirmed to The Wall Street Journal in June 2025 that Trump—whose daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner attended Bezos' wedding—was invited to the Amazon founder's nuptials, however, he was unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts. The day of Bezos and Sanchez's wedding, Trump held a press briefing at the White House following the Supreme Court's ruling in the birthright citizenship case, Trump v. CASA. More from StyleCaster The Real Reason Eva Longoria Didn't Attend BFF Lauren Sanchez's Wedding to Jeff Bezos After Accusing Their Other Guest's Family of 'Spewing Hate' Here's if Lauren Sanchez's Ex-Husband 'Knew' of Her Alleged Affair With Jeff Bezos & What He Thinks of the Amazon Founder Now According to The Wall Street Journal, Bezos, who is the founder of the spaceflight company Blue Origin, spoke to Trump at least twice in the month of his wedding, in a push for more government contracts following Trump's social media feud with rival billionaire space company founder, Elon Musk, at the start of June 2025. Blue Origin CEO David Limp also visited Trump's chief of staff, Susie Wiles, at the White House the month of the Amazon founder's wedding. 'The Trump Administration is committed to a rigorous review process for all bids and contracts, prioritizing the best deal for America and leveraging the most advanced and innovative technology,' White House principal deputy press secretary Harrison Fields told the Daily Beast. 'Decisions will be made at the appropriate time, based on thorough evaluation, and will not be previewed in the press.' Many speculate that Bezos' invitation for Trump to attend his wedding was a way to get on his good side as Blue Origin, like many of its rival space companies, relies on government contracts for steady income, credibility, and access to major U.S. space projects. A source told The Wall Street Journal that Bezos 'really' wanted to host Trump at his wedding as a 'charm offensive' in exchange for valuable government contracts for Blue Origin. Trump and Bezos didn't seem to be on good terms during Trump's first presidency, with Trump criticizing both Amazon and The Washington Post, which Bezos owns, and referring to him as 'Jeff Bozo.' Bezos' relationship with Trump seemed to have improved ahead of Trump's second term when Amazon donated $1 million to Trump's inaugural fund. Bezos, along with Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, all attended Trump's second inauguration, sitting in what has become known as the 'billionaires' row.' While Bezos' wedding was attended by Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, the nuptials also featured guests like Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Eva Longoria, and more A-listers who opposed Trump's re-election in November 2024—which could be another reason that the president chose not to attend the event. Along with working with Trump to grow Blue Origin, Bezos and Trump also made headlines in April 2025 when Punchbowl News reported that Amazon planned to display tariffs next to product prices on its website. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt called the report 'hostile and political' and accused Amazon of partnering with a 'Chinese propaganda arm,' in reference to a 2021 Reuters report about Amazon removing reviews on President Xi Jinping's speeches and writing. The president and Amazon founder to have smoothed things over quickly, however, after a reportedly 'pissed' Trump called Bezos, and Amazon released released a statement stating that it had only considered the tariff feature but didn't go forward with it. Trump also discussed the call with Bezos at a press briefing at the time. 'He was terrific,' he said. 'He solved a problem very quickly, and he did the right thing, and he's a good guy.' Lauren Sánchez will talk about her heritage at any time of day. The former journalist, who is now going to marry one of the richest men in the world, Jeff Bezos, talked about how culture will be at the forefront when raising their family together. The Amazon founder and the aviation entrepreneur are having their grand wedding in Venice, Italy. The two keep their relationship under wraps, but Sánchez shed light on how he's a big influence on her life. 'He's so happy, he inspires me every day, he makes me a better person every day; he's the most loving human I know,' she told the Wall Street Journal. More from StyleCaster Here's if Lauren Sanchez's Ex-Husband 'Knew' of Her Alleged Affair With Jeff Bezos & What He Thinks of the Amazon Founder Now The Real Reason Trump Didn't Attend Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sanchez's Wedding After the Amazon Founder's Complicated History With the PresidentSánchez has also opened up about how she wants their blended family to embrace her side of the family with different traditions. Lauren Sánchez is a third-generation Mexican-American. She is really proud of her Latina heritage and openly celebrates her culture alongside friends like Eva Longoria. In a joint interview for The Hollywood Reporter, the actress and former journalist gushed over their tight bond over their heritage. 'You and I constantly have these conversations that inspire each other. Instead of sending each other memes, we send [reports] about the Latin community not being represented in TV and movies and the media.' 'I know, we send each other white papers. I'll send you a study, and you'll text back, 'I already read it,'' Lauren replied. Though she embraces her heritage at every turn, one thing she regrets is not speaking Spanish. My grandmother, Elsie, and mother spoke Spanish all the time, she said in an interview with Nina Garcia in Elle. 'My mom [didn't teach me because she] told me she didn't want me to have an accent, because she thought that would hurt me. Now I am taking Spanish lessons, and my kids are taking lessons, because it's something I crave.' She also revealed how she bonds with Jeff and his father, Mike, who is Cuban-American. 'We bond and we clash in the best possible way. We live in Miami now, and his dad, Mike, comes over. They make churros on Sunday for the kids. I'm sitting there, and they only want to put sugar on them. I'm like, 'No, no, no, no. You need to put sugar. You need to put cinnamon. Where's the chocolate sauce? I'll put Tajín on it.' It's very interesting how they're both just like, 'simple, Lauren. Simple.' It's little things like that.' She continued talking about celebrating holidays that are close to her heart, 'We celebrate Día de los Muertos together every Thanksgiving. A tradition we have is that everyone makes a dish [in memory of] of someone who has passed away. Then, that night, we all sit around the table, and everyone talks about the dish that they brought and what that person represented to them. It's one of my favorite things to do every year.' Lauren Sánchez Called Out for ‘Terrifying' Rumored Plastic Surgery Procedures Before Her Wedding to Jeff Bezos
Lauren Sánchez is about to walk down the aisle with one of the richest men in the world, and people still seem to be fixated on whether she's had any plastic surgery done. The former news anchor has had quite the transformation over the years. Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos started dating in 2018 and became engaged in 2023. 'We love to be together and we love to work together. We fly together. We work out together. We're together all the time,' Sánchez told the Wall Street Journal about their private romance. The two have been spotted together on red carpets like the Met Gala and the Vanity Fair Oscars Party. More from StyleCaster Jeff Bezos' Response to Rumors He Cheated on His Ex-Wife With Lauren Sanchez-& How Amazon Employees Discovered the Alleged Affair Lauren Sanchez's Net Worth Revealed-Here's How Much She Could Gain From Jeff Bezos After His Ex-Wife's $38 Billion PaydayHowever, Sánchez's recent appearances have raised the eyebrows of many netizens after they saw pictures of her 20 years ago compared to now. Some people have speculated that she's gotten so much plastic surgery that she became unrecognizable. 'She's genuinely so terrifying-looking!' a Reddit user wrote. 'She was gorgeous before surgeries, so I truly don't understand. She ruined her face. I guess it doesn't matter when you nabbed one of the richest men on earth but still. She looks like Jigsaw.' Lauren Sánchez has not publicly confirmed or commented on getting plastic surgery. However, many doctors and plastic surgery experts have pointed out the apparent procedures that she has undergone. During Donald Trump's inauguration, Dr. Koppelman told the Daily Mail that she allegedly undergone a facelift and what gave it away was her ears. 'It's called the pixie deformity. It's actually something you want to avoid in their face lifting because it doesn't look natural, it looks weird,' the doctor said. He also said that she's likely gotten Botox around the mouth, as well as a lesser-known procedure involving permanent lip filler rather than dissolvable injectables, most surgeons use. Just two months before her extravagant wedding with the Amazon founder, plastic surgeons told the Daily Mail that she's undergone even more procedures. Dr Timothy Katzen, a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, told the gossip site, 'With the neck, it gets thinner, you can see it loses fat and sags a bit, but this doesn't happen with other areas. So I think she had something injected into her face – either filler, fat, or cheek implants.' 'She's not showing a lot of signs of aging, and she's 55 years old. So I don't think it's just olive oil and facial creams she's had,' plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie said in an Instagram clip. However, he stressed, 'Although Lauren has had some plastic surgery, I don't think she's had plastic surgery from A to Z. But Jeff Bezos clearly likes it. So as long as they're happy, that's all that really matters.'
