Amazon Prime Video quietly adds one of the 'best horror shows ever'

Metro13-05-2025
Amazon Prime Video viewers are urging everyone to binge-watch a horror TV series that 'deserved more attention.'
Three of the four seasons of Channel Zero are now available to stream on the streaming platform, free for subscribers.
An anthology series, the storylines for all the episodes are based on popular creepypastas (horror content posted on the internet).
Channel Zero's first season was based on cartoonist and performer Kris Straub's Candle Cove.
Starring Parks and Recreation's Paul Schneider and Killing Eve's Fiona Shaw, it centres on a child psychologist who returns to his hometown to determine if his brother's disappearance is connected to a bizarre children's television series.
The second season follows a young woman and her group of friends as they visit a house of horrors, only to find themselves questioning whether it is a tourist attraction or something more sinister.
Channel Zero's third season focuses on a young woman and her schizophrenic sister who move to a city haunted by a series of disappearances and, after suspecting that they may be connected to a baffling rumour, they must work together to discover what is preying on the city's residents.
On X, viewers have hailed Channel Zero as 'one of the best horror TV shows ever made.'
Among them is @soomuu_, who wrote: 'This Series is amazing. Channel Zero No-End House #AmyForsyth#ChannelZero.'
@HorrorAddictX said: 'It's time we acknowledged Channel Zero as one of the best horror TV shows ever made.'
Echoing their sentiment, @ZacBeThompson shared: 'So pumped for #ChannelZero's return tonight. The best horror show on television. Previous seasons have had sharp writing, incredible atmosphere and chilling visuals. Butcher's Block looks no different.'
@RHStavis commented: 'Like wtf is this?! Heartbreaking. #IYKYK #channelzero But also if you don't know, don't sleep on this incredible series..'
@cevangelista also added: 'CHANNEL ZERO, a horror series that deserved more attention.'
Channel Zero is not the only horror TV show to have gripped Amazon Prime Video users.
They are also 'hopelessly hooked' on Australian series Wolf Creek, which has flown under the radar since its initial release in 2016. More Trending
A spin-off of the movie of the same name, the show follows Eve (Lucy Fry), a 19-year-old American tourist in Australia, who is targeted by the crazed serial killer Mick Taylor (John Jarratt).
However, she survives his attack and embarks on a mission of revenge.
Both seasons of Wolf Creek, which initially aired on streamer Stan, are now available to binge-watch on Amazon Prime Video.
On Google, viewers have hailed the horror as 'phenomenal' but warned it was 'not for the faint-hearted.'

Linkin Park refuse to play poignant song live after Chester Bennington's death

Linkin Park have struck a poignant song from their set list in the wake of frontman Chester Bennington's death. The musician died by suicide in 2017 at the age of 41, leading to an outpouring of tributes from fans around the world. The group, known for tracks including Numb, In The End and Faint, went on an indefinite hiatus following their loss, but reformed last year with Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave Farrell and Joe Hahn returning to the fold. Emily Armstrong was announced as their new lead singer, with Colin Brittain joining on drums. They are currently jetting around the globe on their From Zero world tour, but rapper Shinoda revealed that some tracks won't be performed. 'I think we all wanted our show to be really good vibes,' the 48-year-old told the Guardian. 'I want you walking away feeling like, this was such a wonderful, special, fun night.' Unpacking the setlist, he shared that there were hits that he would 'feel weird playing', including One More Light – which was on Bennington's last Linkin Park album. He explained that it was originally written 'for a woman at the label that we worked with who passed away. 'Then after Chester passed, the world decided that it was about him. And so that's just too sad to play.' Shinoda founded Linkin Park in the 90s, along with Delson and Rob Bourdon, with Farrell and Hahn joining shortly after, followed by Benington. They went on to become one of the biggest rock bands of all time, with hits including One Step Closer, Crawling, Papercut and Somewhere I Belong. More Trending The group dropped seven albums together, and one collaboration with Jay-Z, before the lead singer's death in 2017 – which came just months after their One More Light record was released. After a break of nearly a decade, the group announced their return last year, unveiling Armstrong's position as lead vocalist. Following their efforts at the Champions League final in May, the rockers will be bringing their From Zero tour to New York this month ahead of performances in Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, LA and more. From there, they will be traveling through Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil and Mexico before appearing in Sweden, Germany, Spain, Italy and Portugal. Got a story? 'Spine-chilling' horror remake with near-perfect RT rating now streaming

A horror film lauded as 'outstanding' is streaming right now on Amazon Prime Video. The Invisible Man, directed by Leigh Whannell, revitalised interest in Universal's proposed Dark Universe, which was set to bring the classic Universal Monsters back to the big screen. Following the box office flop that was The Mummy, Whannell's 2020 adaptation of The Invisible Man was widely praised by critics thanks to how it tackled themes of domestic abuse. It stars Elisabeth Moss as Cecilia Kass, a woman trapped in a violent and controlling relationship with wealthy optics engineer and businessman Adrian Griffin (Oliver Jackson-Cohen). After finally leaving, it is reported that Adrian has died by suicide. But Elisabeth is still subjected to his terror after it is revealed that he developed technology to become invisible and torment his ex. It grossed a whopping $145million (£107.7m) worldwide against a $7m (£5.2m) budget and received numerous accolades, including a Critics' Choice nomination. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video The Invisible Man boasts a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the critics' consensus reading: 'Smart, well-acted, and above all scary, The Invisible Man proves that sometimes, the classic source material for a fresh reboot can be hiding in plain sight.' In their review, The Times said: 'It uses its serious theme to give extra force to a tale that already has plenty of flair as a pure and simple spine-chiller.' The Ringer wrote: 'A thriller whose mandate is to startle its audience with surface-level shocks while simultaneously subverting expectations in a deeper way, dropping us out of our comfort zone toward some sunken place.' The Jewish Chronicle added: 'Elisabeth Moss delivers an outstanding performance as a woman teetering on the edge of reality in this thoroughly engaging reboot.' 'Whannell expertly plays with our fears: the sudden metallic screech of a dog dish accidentally kicked in the quiet; the house's labyrinthine hallways; the breathing darkness of an empty road,' Seattle Times praised. In 2019, it was confirmed that a spin-off titled The Invisible Woman was in development with Elizabeth Banks set to star. However, she revealed that the film was on hold while Universal focused on a sequel to The Invisible Man. More Trending 'For one thing, what happened was they made an Invisible Man movie, and they're making another one,' she told 'So I think Universal wants to see that through. I'm really interested in the idea that we have, and it is still there, but it's not something I'm actively working on in this moment in time.' Last year, Moss confirmed that developments on the sequel were ongoing, and it was then announced that her production company, Love and Squalor Pictures, was working with Blumhouse Productions on the film. The Invisible Man is streaming now on Prime Video . Got a story?
