Kuantan boy reported missing found safe in Chukai
Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said Anas Baihaqi Miqdad Johari, 13, was spotted at the house at about 7am based on initial investigations and information from the family.
'The police have conducted investigations and interviewed the boy's family members who live in Kuantan and we are still conducting further investigations to find out how the student could have reached the location,' he said.
He told reporters after the monthly assembly of the Pahang police contingent headquarters here today which was also attended by his deputy Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob.
Yesterday, Kuantan district police chief ACP Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu was reported to have said the teenager was reported missing after leaving home without the family's knowledge, believed to be because he refused to return to the college hostel.
Meanwhile, Yahaya in his speech said the police had seized various types of drugs worth more than RM84 million with 4,839 arrests in the first four months of this year.
He said the amount increased compared to the same period last year, where only RM8.2 million worth of seizures were recorded while the total number of arrests was 4,810.
'A total of 190 cases were charged under Section 39C of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 from January to April this year compared to 220 cases for the same period. The police also succeeded in busting four drug trafficking syndicates involving six arrests through Ops Indera,' he said.
In addition, he said that the Commercial Crime Investigation Department had opened 817 investigation papers involving losses of RM26 million with the Kuantan district recording the highest number of 333 investigation papers.
Meanwhile, Yahaya said in the first quarter of 2025, a total of 8,183 accident cases were reported with 146 cases being fatal accidents.
'During the same period, a total of 99,840 summonses were issued compared to 63,194 summonses in 2024. The total compound collection was RM1.35 million for 2025 compared to RM1.39 million in the previous year,' he said.

The post also lists live access and data for sale at US$19,999 (RM84,645) in cryptocurrency.

14,146 held for drug offences this year

Of the total, 7,196 individuals had been charged in court for various offences under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, he said. DCP Mohd Alwi said 4,498 investigation papers related to drug trafficking and possession were also opened during this period. He added that another 7,938 investigations were conducted for drug abuse offences under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, while actions were taken against 251 individuals under Section 39C(1) of the same Act. 'The arrests were the result of continuous operations and intelligence-led enforcement efforts, targeting traffickers, distributors and users across the state,' he said during a press conference at the North Seberang Perai police headquarters' centralised evidence storage facility in Jalan Kedah yesterday. Earlier, DCP Mohd Alwi witnessed the disposal of 120.9kg of seized drugs worth about RM2mil. The drugs included 19.75kg of heroin and monoacetylmorphine, 53.57kg of cannabis, 2.9kg of ketamine, 42.61kg of methamphetamine and 2.1kg of various psychotropic pills. He said the substances were seized during 5,265 investigation cases handled by the state Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) between 2010 and 2024, covering five districts in Penang.

Works minister denies viral RM26mil gratuity payment letter
KUALA LUMPUR: Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi has denied the authenticity of a letter dated July 28, 2025, which went viral on social media, purportedly from the ministry regarding a gratuity payment to an individual. He said that the letter was fake and was never issued by the ministry or himself. "The ministry never issued any official invitation for such a gratuity payment ceremony. As such, I advise the public not to be deceived by such documents, which clearly contain elements of fraud and impersonation," he said. He said the ministry is working closely with the authorities to investigation the matter. The public is urged to verify any suspicious documents or communications allegedly from the ministry through its official website at or by calling the official hotline. Earlier, a letter had gone viral on social media claiming that a gratuity payment of over RM26 million was supposed to be presented to the next of kin of an individual at a ceremony to be held at the ministry tomorrow. - Bernama
