Monaco hold talks with Barcelona's Marc-André ter Stegen
AS Monaco have held talks with Barcelona's Marc-André ter Stegen (33) regarding a move, according to a report from L'Équipe.
The Principality club have cast their net far and wide this summer in their search for a new No.1. Monaco's CEO, Thiago Scuro, confirmed upon the conclusion of the Ligue 1 season that a new goalkeeper was sought after after the current options, Radoslaw Majecki and Philipp Köhn, failed to convince over the duration of the campaign.

David De Gea was considered before he renewed at Fiorentina. Djordje Petrovic and Marcin Bulka have also been linked with Monaco, as have Torino's Vanja Milinkovic-Savic and Trabzonspor's Ugurcan Çakir. The latter represents a more feasible option, financially.
Ter Stegen, who has recently seen stiff competition arrive at Barcelona in the form of Joan Garcia, is an option. L'Équipe even understands that talks were recently held with the German international, whose contract with the Catalan club runs until 2028.

Sarina Wiegman delighted with England performance ahead of Euros opener
Sarina Wiegman was impressed with England's performance but knows there will be stronger challenges ahead after their dominant 7-0 win over Jamaica in their final game before the European Women's Championship. Ella Toone scored a brace either side of Lucy Bronze's header to give England a healthy advantage at the break. Advertisement Wiegman's side flexed their muscles in the second period as Georgia Stanway, Alessia Russo, Aggie Beever-Jones and Beth Mead got on the scoresheet to give England the perfect send-off before they face France in their first game at the Euros next Saturday. 'We played a good game,' the 55-year-old said. 'We were a lot in the final third, we scored seven goals which is really good, created a lot of chances and some moments could have been even more patient sometimes. 'But at the same time, scoring seven goals and more opportunities to score was really good. 'We know next week we have to take our game to the next level. But what we wanted to do was play a good game, entertain fans, getting ready for next week and getting everyone fit out of this game. Advertisement 'It shows we have a good team and have many options and competition going on for positions. Today we had six different players score goals, which is nice going into the Euros and it shows the players can score goals.' England gained momentum ahead of their Euros opener against France (Bradley Collyer/PA) Lauren James climbed off the bench in the second period as she made her first appearance since a hamstring injury in April. It did not take long for her to make an impact as she supplied the cross for Russo's goal shortly after her introduction. Wiegman added: 'We're still building her. She's worked so hard to be here where she is now. At Chelsea first, but then the last two weeks in training camps, she could do every single training session and did really well. 'Now this is the first time she could get minutes and we hope next week we can keep building her going into France. Advertisement 'Also there is a lot of competition going on upfront and in midfield so we've figured out over the last couple days how we will start.' England feared Mead picked up an injury when she went down holding her knee as the game ticked over into stoppage time. Beth Mead overcame an injury scare to score England's seventh goal (Bradley Collyer/PA) The fans had their hearts in their mouths when Mead received treatment on the field, but she was able to get up and carry on before she scored the last goal of the game. Wiegman said: 'It was a hit on her knee. She's OK, she's good. 'Everyone came out fit and healthy so it was just a hard knock. It looked horrible so we were a little bit scared too, but she could even score after that moment.'

Manchester United target Dominic Calvert-Lewin takes to social media to confirm Everton exit
Manchester United-linked striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is leaving Everton on a free transfer. It is still early days in the summer but United have already faced many obstacles in their attempts to sign a new striker. Advertisement Liam Delap was considered the club's preferred option due to his age and affordable release clause, but the Englishman picked Chelsea. Viktor Gyokeres, meanwhile, is waiting for Arsenal and Victor Osimhen is likely to end up in Saudi Arabia due to his astronomical wage demands. However, considering only Everton scored fewer goals in the Premier League last season than United among all the non-relegated clubs, it would be very reckless to head into the new campaign without a new number nine. United's desperate need for a new goalscorer and their limited transfer budget have also led to the Red Devils being linked with a number of low-cost options, including Calvert-Lewin. Earlier this month, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United have 'fully entered the battle' to sign the Englishman upon the expiration of his contract. Advertisement On Sunday, the 28-year-old announced he is leaving Everton this month as a free agent. The ex-Sheffield United man wrote on Instagram: 'After nine remarkable years at this club, I've made the incredibly difficult decision – together with my family – to begin a new chapter in my career.' David Moyes wanted to keep Calvert-Lewin in Merseyside but the parties failed to find an agreement over fresh terms. The England international has had a difficult last few years at Everton due to fitness issues. However, he is still supposedly admired at United, owing to his physicality and hold-up play. If United decide to allocate their funds to revamp other areas, Calvert-Lewin could prove to be a decent stop-gap solution. Follow us on Bluesky: @

Fabrizio Romano Says Arsenal Agree to Personal Terms With PSG, Real Madrid Target
PSG could be preparing for a transfer showdown with Arsenal, AC Milan, Juventus, and Real Madrid over one of Spain's most promising young defenders. However, it's the Gunners who have reached the second stage with the player agreeing to personal terms. Despite boasting one of the best defenses in Ligue 1, PSG's backline is starting to show signs of wear after a long season. Lucas Hernandez is playing but still coming off a serious injury, and while Marquinhos remains a vital leader, he's not quite as explosive as he once was. Advertisement Presnel Kimpembe continues to be an influential presence in the locker room, but his availability remains uncertain in both the short and mid-term. Luis Enrique sees real potential in Lucas Beraldo, though the Brazilian is still viewed more as a depth option than a consistent starter. PSG could miss out on defensive targetOn Sunday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Arsenal have agreed on personal terms with Christian Mosquera. After Valencia rejected Arsenal's initial €14 million bid, the club is preparing a new offer—the Premier League side hope to complete the deal for a fee over €20 million, with talks currently ongoing. Marca has reported that Real Madrid are already weighing their options for next summer's free agents. Arsenal left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly and Mosquera are among the names on their radar. Advertisement Foot Mercato reported that Mosquera is on PSG's transfer radar this summer to continue injecting youth into the center-back position. A key player for Valencia, the Alicante native could be sold by the club to boost its finances. Nonetheless, it seems Arsenal have the upper hand in this race and if they present an offer that satisfies Valencia, then the Gunners will come away with the talented young defender.
