NI winger excited to link up with former Aberdeen team-mates at Scottish League One side

The 37-year-old winger has signed a one-year contract at the Buchan club, which is located just 30 miles north of Aberdeen where he spent the majority of his career.
McGinn made 358 appearances for Aberdeen across two spells at Pittodrie, winning the League Cup with them in 2014, and played the majority of his international football during that time as well.
The former Dungannon Swifts star, who also had stints with Derry City, Celtic and Dundee, returned to Northern Ireland with Glentoran in 2023 but spent last season on loan at Greenock Morton.
Now, despite interest from the Swifts in a reunion, he will return to northern Scotland where he will link up with former Aberdeen team-mates Peter Pawlett and Cammy Smith.
"Delighted to be back up in the north of Scotland in Aberdeenshire, back to where I played the best part of my career and enjoyed my football the most,' said the 72-times capped winger, one of the Kings of Lyon from Euro 2016.
"It's great to join a club with ambition and off the back of a promotion last season. I'm familiar with the players such as Peter Pawlett and Cammy Smith, and of course Jordon (Brown, manager), who I played with at Aberdeen also, so I'm looking forward to getting together with the group.'
Brown commented: "Niall needs no introduction and we are delighted that we have been able to add him to the group. He is a top pro who hasn't played at a lower level than the Championship in Scotland and has shown a commitment in moving back over to Aberdeen still with a top attitude to succeed.
"When we were aware of this opportunity it was one we couldn't pass up. The experience and goal threat Niall brings having been full time his whole career will be crucial in helping our young group and ticks that areas in particular where we were focused on improving.
"I'm sure we will all look forward to welcoming him to Balmoor.'

Hulkenberg shows true colours after beating Lewis Hamilton to first-ever podium

Nico Hulkenberg finished third at the British Grand Prix, earning him a spot on the podium in his 239th start as the German finished 5.07 seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton Nico Hulkenberg has jokingly apologised to the Silverstone crowd after he secured his first podium finish, beating Lewis Hamilton to third place at the British Grand Prix. Hulkenberg began his F1 career back in 2010 with Williams, but had to wait until his 239th start for a first podium. The German finished just 5.07 seconds ahead of Hamilton, who had to settle for fourth and has now surpassed his longest wait for a podium finish. Hamilton has not been in the top three since finishing second in Las Vegas 14 races ago. ‌ And Hulkenberg light-heartedly apologised to the crowd for denying Hamilton a spot on the podium in his home race. "It feels good. It's been a long time coming, hasn't it? But I always knew we have it in us, I have it in me, somewhere," Hulkenberg said after the race. ‌ "What a race. Coming from virtually last, doing it all over again from last weekend. It's pretty surreal, to be honest. I'm not sure how it all happened, but obviously crazy, mixed conditions. "It was a survival fight for a lot of the race. I think we just were really on it with the right calls, the right tyres in the right moment, made no mistakes - quite incredible. "I was in denial until probably the last pit stop, but then when I heard we gapped Lewis quite a bit with the one extra lap, I was like, 'ok, this is good, this is some breathing space.' But then he was catching quite quickly, so the pressure was there. "It was an intense race but we didn't crack, no mistakes, and obviously really, really happy with that. I was thinking that he's going to give it all in front of his home crowd, and I was like, 'sorry guys, but it's also my day.' I had to stick my neck out. I'm super happy." Although Hamilton missed out on a podium finish at Sliverstone, fellow Brit Lando Norris won his home Grand Prix for the first time and was absolutely delighted with the victory. "It is beautiful," Norris said after the race. ‌ "Apart from a Championship, this is as good as it gets in terms of feelings. Incredible race, stressful as always but the support from the fans made the difference, so I have to thank them. "The main thing is don't f*** it up, that is rule number one. It might never happen again, hope it does, but these are memories I'll have forever. "As far as being a stressful race, it's as stressful as it gets. A round of applause for Oscar as he put in a good race, he was fast. Credit to him and of course McLaren, to win at home is pretty amazing."

Joe Rothwell is relishing the chance to work under Rangers boss Russell Martin again after the midfielder sealed a permanent transfer from Bournemouth. The 30-year-old, who still had a year to run on his Cherries deal, has moved to Ibrox for an undisclosed fee and signed a three-year contract. New Rangers signing Joe Rothwell played a starring role in Leeds United's title-winning season | Getty Images 'I am delighted to have the deal done and be here,' Rothwell told Gers' website. 'It is brilliant. The size of the club speaks for itself and as soon as the interest was there it was an immediate 'yes' from me. 'With Russell coming in too it made that decision a little bit easier because working with him in the past and I know what type of guy he is and how he wants to do things. That was an even bigger pull for me, but the club speaks for itself.' Rothwell did not get the chance to play in the Premier League under Martin as he instead joined Leeds on loan from Bournemouth last season, but he enjoyed more glory at the Elland Road club – whose chairman Paraag Marathe is also now Rangers' vice-chairman – by playing 39 matches in the Whites' surge to the Championship title. 'He is a player who we thoroughly enjoyed working with during my time at Southampton,' said the manager. 'His leadership, professionalism and quality were a huge asset. He is joining on the back of two promotions so helps bring a real winning mentality to the group. We are excited for Joe to join up the squad, get to know his teammates, and help make the group stronger.' Gers sporting director Kevin Thelwell added: 'We are thrilled to secure Joe's services as we continue to strengthen the squad this summer. 'He has a wealth of experience in the game having performed strongly over a number of years at various levels in England. 'We believe he has the right temperament and quality as a player to be a strong addition to the squad and look forward to seeing his impact.' Lando Norris' mum's adorable message in emotional moment after British GP win

Lando Norris has won the British Grand Prix, finishing ahead of Oscar Piastri and Nico Hulkenberg, and the McLaren driver shared an emotional embrace with his mum after the race Lando Norris shared an emotional moment with his mum after winning the British Grand Prix for the first time. The 25-year-old was delighted with his first F1 victory on home soil and embraced his mum, Cisca, after exiting his car as she told him: "I love you so much, enjoy it." Norris finished ahead of his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri, while Nico Hulkenberg finished third and earned a podium finish for the first time in his 238th attempt. Reflecting on his victory, Norris said: "It is beautiful. ‌ "Apart from a Championship, this is as good as it gets in terms of feelings. Incredible race, stressful as always but the support from the fans made the difference, so I have to thank them. ‌ "The main thing is don't f*** it up, that is rule number one. Hulkenberg was also delighted with his third place finish, stating: "It's been a long time coming hasn't it?! What a race, coming from virtually last, doing it all again like last weekend. "Crazy conditions, survival mode all race. We were really on it, no mistakes. Today, I was in denial until the last pit stop and then I heard we gapped Lewis so I thought okay, breathing space but then he was closing. "The pressure was there, intense race but we didn't crack. I was thinking he was going to give it all in front of his home crowd but sorry guys, it is also my day!" ‌ Piastri, meanwhile, was not happy after he was handed a 10-second time penalty for a safety car infringement. "I'm not going to say much, I'll get myself in trouble," Piastri said after the race. "Congrats to Nico, that's the story. Apparently you can't brake behind the Safety Car anymore, I had done it for five laps before but I'm not going to say more, I'm going to get myself in trouble. I still like Silverstone even if I don't like it today."
