When The Craft hit the big screen in May 1996, it was far from your average teen horror movie. With its dark and edgy narrative laced with a touch of witchcraft, it quickly gained cult status.
The film starred Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, and Rachel True as high school misfits who form a coven. The plot revolves around Sarah Bailey, a new student at a private Catholic high school, who befriends three outcasts involved in witchcraft. Together, they use magic to enhance their lives, but things soon spiral out of control.
Fast forward nearly 30 years, and many of the cast members have transitioned from teenage turmoil and spell-casting to unexpected new careers, including directing award-winning shows, lending their voices to animated sitcoms, and even tarot reading. Here's a look at where they are now, according to the Mirror US.
Robin Tunney (Sarah Bailey)
(Image: Publicity Picture)
Robin Tunney portrayed Sarah Bailey, the newcomer whose inherent magical abilities make her an ideal fit for the coven. Before The Craft, Robin had already made an impression with roles in Encino Man in 1992 and Empire Records in 1995. Her performance in 1997's Niagara, Niagara bagged her the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival.
After The Craft, Robin's career took off with significant roles in films like the 1999 action thriller End of Days, and 2000's Vertical Limit. She also made a name for herself on the small screen, starring as Veronica Donovan in Prison Break from 2005 until 2006, and as Teresa Lisbon in The Mentalist from 2008 until 2015.
More recently, she graced the screen in Netflix's Horse Girl in 2020 and took the lead in the ABC series The Fix in 2019, although the latter was axed after just one season. Robin has been in a committed relationship with interior designer Nicky Marmet since 2012, and they share two children.
Fairuza Balk (Nancy Downs)
Fairuza Balk's depiction of Nancy Downs, the film's main antagonist, perfectly captured the downward spiral of a troubled teenager into insanity. Post-The Craft, Fairuza continued to take on unconventional roles, featuring in Almost Famous in 2000 as Sapphire, a role that earned her a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. She also contributed her voice to animated series like Family Guy and Justice League.
Beyond her acting career, Fairuza is heavily involved in the arts, participating in music and visual art projects. She keeps a low profile, often sharing her artistic pursuits with fans via social media.
Neve Campbell (Bonnie Harper)
Neve Campbell portrayed Bonnie Harper, a timid girl whose transformation following a beauty spell leads to vanity. While The Craft showcased her talent to audiences, it was her portrayal of Sidney Prescott in the Scream franchise that cemented her status as a scream queen.
Neve returned to her role in several Scream sequels, including the fifth instalment which hit screens in January 2022. Her performance in 1997's Scream 2 bagged her the MTV Movie Award for Best Female Performance.
Beyond the horror genre, she featured in the drama series Party of Five and films such as The Company in 2003 and Skyscraper in 2018. Off-screen, Neve is a mother to two boys, one of whom she adopted with her partner, actor JJ Feild.
Rachel True (Rochelle Zimmerman)
Rachel True's portrayal of Rochelle Zimmerman addressed issues of racism and bullying, making her character's journey particularly poignant. Post-The Craft, Rachel made appearances in shows like Dawson's Creek and Better Things, while also exploring her interest in mystical arts.
In 2017, she started working as a tarot card reader in Los Angeles' Echo Park area. Speaking to Dazed Digital in 2019, Rachel shared her struggles as a black actress in Hollywood, which led her to establish her own tarot business at House of Intuition in Los Angeles. "Hollywood made it clear I was not the leading lady but her quirky best friend," she said.
Rachel has since authored True Heart Intuitive Tarot, a guidebook to tarot that comes with a 78-card illustrated tarot deck and 22 memoir essays about her "mystic-minded Hollywood life." She continues to act and was cast in the second season of Harlem.
Skeet Ulrich (Chris Hooker)
Skeet Ulrich took on the role of Chris Hooker, a charming but deceptive love interest. That same year, he gained fame for his portrayal of Billy Loomis in Scream, a role he reprised in Scream in 2022, and again in Scream VI the following year.
From 2017 to 2021, Skeet was a regular on The CW's Riverdale as Forsythe Pendleton 'F.P.' Jones II. His other television roles include Johnston Jacob 'Jake' Green Jr. in Jericho, and LAPD Detective Rex Winters in the Law and Order series. Off-screen, Skeet is a father of two and continues to pursue acting roles in both film and television.
Christine Taylor (Laura Lizzie)
Christine Taylor brought to life Laura Lizzie, a racist bully who becomes the target of Rochelle's revenge spell. Christine is perhaps best known for her parts in The Brady Bunch Movie and A Very Brady Sequel, as well as being the wife of actor and director Ben Stiller.
In 1998, Christine landed the role of Holly Sullivan in The Wedding Singer. A few years later, she starred alongside her husband in Zoolander. She has since appeared with her husband in films such as Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Tropic Thunder, and Zoolander 2.
The couple, parents to two children, parted ways in 2017 after a 17-year marriage. However, Ben revealed in 2022 that they had reconnected during the pandemic, having moved back in together. He shared that their separation allowed them to value their marriage more, while Christine expressed that their time apart facilitated personal growth and ultimately fortified their relationship.
Breckin Meyer (Mitt)
Breckin Meyer portrayed Mitt, one of Chris Hooker's friends who mocks the coven. Following his breakout role as Travis Birkenstock in Clueless in 1995, Breckin's acting career has continued to thrive.
His notable film credits include roles in Road Trip, Rat Race, and Garfield: The Movie, and most recently, Unpregnant. He has also lent his voice to Robot Chicken since 2005.
Cliff DeYoung (Mr Bailey)
Cliff DeYoung played Sarah's father, a caring but clueless parent oblivious to his daughter's magical powers. Cliff has featured in more than 80 films and television series, including Harry and Tonto in 1974, The Lindbergh Kidnapping Case in 1976, Centennial and Blue Collar in 1978, Shock Treatment in 1981, Glory in 1989, Suicide Kings in 1997, and Wild in 2014.
He has made guest appearances on shows like Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The West Wing, and The Young and the Restless. Cliff has been married to Gypsy DeYoung since 1970.
Assumpta Serna (Lirio Santana)
Assumpta Serna portrayed Lirio Santana, the proprietor of an occult shop who provides guidance to Sarah. Assumpta has acted in 20 countries and six languages, earning over 20 international awards.
In addition to acting, Assumpta is also an educator and author. She has penned two books on acting techniques and offers courses on communication and leadership.
Together with her husband, actor Scott Cleverdon, she created the first university Master's course for actors focusing on Screenacting. Through their Fundación First Team, they have taught more than 4,000 students across six countries.
Helen Shaver (Grace Downs-Saunders)
Helen Shaver played Grace Downs-Saunders, Nancy's mother. In the mid-1990s, Helen transitioned into television directing, having directed over 50 shows.
She has won three Directors Guild of Canada Awards, one Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directing - Miniseries or TV Film, two Canadian Screen Awards, and three Women's Image Network Awards.
She was nominated for an Emmy Award for directing the 1999 television movie Summer's End and made her big screen debut with the drama film Happy Place in 2020. In 2004, Helen was honoured with a place on Canada's Walk of Fame.

Millie Bobby Brown oozes confidence in bikini after slamming 'bullies'

Actress Millie Bobby Brown rose to fame as Eleven in Netflix series Stranger Things, going on to star in Enola Holmes - she's also created her own beauty brand and is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF Actress Millie Bobby Brown stunned in a series of bikini shots, after the 21-year-old was forced to hit back over cruel trolls who picked apart her appearance. Millie looked incredible as she posed for her golden-hour shots while sunning herself on the sand. The Stranger Things star, who married Jake Biongiovi in a private ceremony in May 2024, wore a green and blue paisley print two-piece as she posed in front of the ocean. She posted the three photos on Instagram, with some beach-related emojis. ‌ The comments section was filled with adoring praise from friends and fans. Her beauty brand's account wrote: "An absolute icon," while reality star and socialite Paris Hilton replied with a heart-eye emoji. ‌ Millie has been subjected to intense and cruel scrutiny over her looks on social media, despite her young age and always looking ten out of ten. The young star shared a moving Instagram post earlier this year, after she was cruelly judged for how grown up she appears. In an almost three-minute-long video, the actress reflected on her career and the difficulties of growing up in the spotlight. She called out various articles written by journalists who had criticised her body and face, drawing attention to the unrealistic expectations placed on women in the entertainment industry. In the clip, posted in March, Millie sat makeup-free as she said: 'I want to take a moment to address something that I think is bigger than just me, something that affects every young woman who grows up under public scrutiny.' Later, she read out article titles which had questioned her looks, including one mentioning the comedian. Millie sadly said: 'Little Britain's Matt Lucas takes savage swipe at Millie Bobby Brown's new 'mommy makeover' look, written by Bethan Edwards, amplifying an insult rather than questioning why a grown man is mocking a young woman's appearance. This isn't journalism. This is bullying.' ‌ After sharing more about the criticism she was facing, Enola Holmes star Millie concluded: 'Let's do better. Not just for me, but for every young girl who deserves to grow up without fear of being torn apart for simply existing.' Matt responded to Millie just four hours later, explaining his meaning and apologising for causing offence. On Instagram, he wrote: 'Dear Millie, I just saw your post and wanted to respond, and provide some context. ‌ "Nearly 25 years ago I co-wrote and appeared in a sketch show called Little Britain. There was a character in it called Vicky Pollard, who had blonde hair and always wore a pink top, and in the photo you had blonde hair and wore a pink top so I pointed out the similarity by posting one of her catchphrases. "I thought you looked terrific and I was mortified when the press wrote that I 'slammed' you, firstly because that's not my style, and secondly because I think you're brilliant. I would not have posted it if I had thought it would have upset you but I realise it has and for that I apologise. Matt.'

Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause slams Golden Bachelor Mel Owens over comments

Chrishell Stause took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the upcoming season of The Golden Bachelor, after the show's leading man Mel Owens shared his dating preferences Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause has hit back at the Golden Bachelor after he expressed a preference for women under 60 without 'artificial hips.' The 43 year old reality star didn't hold back in expressing her thoughts on 66 year old Mel Owens' criteria for his ideal woman. 'We love the Golden Bachelor because of how wholesome it is,' the Selling Sunset star penned in her Instagram Stories on Thursday, adding, 'This type of energy will ruin it.' ‌ The drama unfolded when Owens, a former NFL player, discussed the casting process for the women who would compete for his heart on the MGoBlue podcast released on June 4. ‌ In a tale recounted on the episode, the ex-linebacker shared the story that ruffled Stause's feathers. During a meeting with The Bachelor producers, Owens disclosed: 'They ask me, 'What's your preference?' So I just said [ages] 45 to 60, just being honest,' he admitted. However, while dining with the show's executive producer, he reconsidered and stated, 'You know, if they're 60 or over, I'm cutting them.' When reminded of the show's title, The Golden Bachelor, Owens recalled being told, ''You can't use the word cut.' 'I go, 'Well, that's an NFL term,'' he responded. He then outlined his additional expectations for the women. 'Try to stay away from the artificial hips and the wigs, you know, that kind of stuff, right?' Stause isn't the only one voicing her disapproval. A multitude of franchise fans have expressed their strong opinions on his comments. ‌ 'Based on his podcast interview I won't be watching or supporting. We need to stop supporting men who think they're so great that they won't date women their own age. This bloke needs to go back home,' one fan penned. Another said: 'I'm done with this franchise if you move forward with him. Have some respect for women.' A third commented: ''This is so sad. I can't believe TPTB knew this man didn't want a golden lady and cast him anyway. So misogynistic to say no wigs or women over 60. Please replace him for someone who appreciates women of a certain age, which is the entire point of this show.' Chrishell is known for her role on Netflix's Selling Sunset and her cast mate Nicole Young has just finished filming the latest series of the Netflix hit - and she spilled a number of filming secrets to the Mirror including her feud with Chrishell. ‌ Nicole, 39, first appeared on the reality series in 2022, joining in season six. Since then, fans have watched as she has sold some of the hottest properties in California. But it's been her ongoing feud with fellow realtor Chrishell Stause that has had viewers invested. Now, in an exclusive chat with the Mirror, Nicole has spilled the tea on what goes on behind the scenes and explained her view of what happened between her and her co-star. Nicole claimed the cast have "zero control" over what they film, or who they film with. She told us: "We have zero control over what we film, who we film with, or what topics of discussion are 'needed' by production for each filmed scene. ‌ "Unfortunately, we are held accountable by the public for what is and isn't filmed or shown, but that has never been something we have any control over." Opening up on the on-screen drama with Chrishell, she went on to claim: "Chrishell is incredibly astute at manipulating people and representing herself as a perpetual victim while being a snarling wolf in real life. "The most current feud between her and I that plays out in season 9 is a result of me finally snapping back to her constant and continual jabs and baseless accusations while holding up a mirror to the deep-rooted real source of her issues."

'I tried to watch Netflix on my fiance's iPad but what I found ruined my life'

A woman has been left devastated after uncovering a disgusting family secret. A young woman has been left disgusted after uncovering a life-changing family secret. The discovery has rocked her relationship with her partner, mum, and young brother. The 24 year old opened up about the devastating situation in a post on Reddit, where she shared that she and her fiancé had been together for several years. ‌ The couple knew each other from growing up in the same area and she told how her partner's good rapport with her mother was important, given her "real-life Rory and Lorelai from Gilmore Girls" bond with her mum, reports the Mirror. ‌ Posting on the social media forum, she wrote: "My fiancé and I have been together since we were 17 and 18 years old. Honestly, he was always kind, handsome, funny and everyone used to say I was so lucky to have the whole package. "I felt so lucky too. He always treated me with love and respect, so this makes everything just so shocking for me. I have always had a good relationship with my mum. "It has always been her and I against the world. My dad died in an accident when I was little. My mum dated guys on and off and they were usually cool but nothing really passed the early stages." However, the dynamic dramatically changed when, four years prior, her mum, then aged 42, announced an unexpected pregnancy. The daughter explained: "Although she was sort of dating someone recently (I didn't meet the guy but knew she went on dates) it still was a big shock. She never thought she could be pregnant at her age (she had me when she was super young - an oopsie) and I can tell she was stressed and worried. ‌ "I decided to support her since she has always supported me and tried to reassure her. She then had my brother who is now three years old. I have a close relationship with my brother, I have helped take care of him since he was born and I just love the little guy." She shared that her fiancé also stepped in to help entertain her young brother, taking him out for ice cream, to the playground, and to the swimming pool during the summer months. "Nothing was weird - he was just my then-boyfriend spending time with my brother and me," she added. However, her world was turned upside down when she borrowed her fiancé's iPad to watch Netflix after her laptop died. ‌ She said: "At some point during binge-watching a series on Netflix, my laptop died and I was too lazy to go get my charger, so I just took my fiancé's iPad. I know the password but honestly never used it before. "The iPad logged in and I got a bunch of messages pinging (I guess he hasn't used it in a while too?). Anyway, this got my attention and I went to check it out and I found everything. My mum's number wasn't under her name but I recognised the number and verified it with my phone. ‌ "She was telling him she felt guilty and that I should know. He said he also felt guilty but couldn't lose me and they f*cked it up. "She said that it was unfair for my brother to never not know his dad, and that if he could live having his son around not behaving like a dad but a brother-in-law. I broke down. What the actual F!" Digging deeper, she found several photos of her mum pregnant, her brother as a newborn, and other snapshots of his early life. She confessed: "I couldn't any more. I cried for what seemed ages and I waited for my boyfriend to come back home. I wish I was one of those women who can pretend and get things together before confronting the cheater but I can't. ‌ "He came back later that night (around 11.30pm) and I just handed him the iPad with the conversation opened and watched his face turn pale. I demanded an explanation, when? how? why? and he was reluctant at first, but knew he had to answer. Apparently, a few years ago while I was away with some friends (girls' trip), my fiancé and mum had dinner together. "This isn't strange since he has been part of the family for so long, sometimes my mum and fiancé would eat together at our place even if I was busy with sports or out - I did the same with his parents. Somehow (unclear how since he couldn't explain it well) one thing led to another and they ended up sleeping together. ‌ "They felt guilty but apparently not guilty enough because they slept together two or three more times, using the excuse of meeting up to discuss how to tell me. Apparently, when my mum got pregnant they stopped sleeping together and decided to not tell me, since my fiancé 'loved me and couldn't lose me' and my mum didn't want to lose her daughter." Horrified, she ended the engagement and, at the time of posting, she had not yet discussed the ordeal with her mother. She moved in with a friend and is seeking therapy because she feels unable to cope with the situation by herself. ‌ In her confusion about what steps to take next, the woman has sought guidance from online communities. She confessed: "I feel bad for my brother since I really love him, but I can't be around him now, I just can't. "I feel like it would remind me of all those times we talked about having kids, I would be his baby mama, only baby mama, we talked about this future since we were 17 years old, so I want to puke every time I think how I was actually taking care of his child with someone else, while still having those dreams. I wanna puke." Reacting to her story, one social media user expressed: "Damn. Just damn. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Seems like hell on Earth. You've got everyone here's support and keep doing you! You're doing great already and just keep moving forward, wishing you the best!". ‌ Another advised: "The best thing to do is to get into counseling, you'll want to mentally prepare yourself for the inevitable. You said it yourself, they most likely will try to confront you at either work or when you're out and about and the last thing you want is to be caught off guard and not be ready to handle that confrontation on your own!". Another user empathised: "Omg you poor thing. Betrayed by the two people, you should be able to trust the most. They are both just so disgusting. "I can never understand when you read about mothers or sisters doing this. Your mother is absolutely vile. Lowest of the low. Your ex is just trash. "You are so much better than either one of them. My heart just hurts for you. You deserve a much better mother than the one you got. Please never speak to or forgive either one of them. Cut them both dead."
