Yash Dayal accused of physical violence, misleading woman with promise of marriage: 'Mentally, physically exploited her'
Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Indian pacer Yash Dayal has reportedly been named in a complaint filed by a woman from Ghaziabad, accusing the 27-year-old cricketer of mental, emotional, and physical exploitation under the pretext of marriage. According to a report from India Today, the woman submitted her grievance through the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's online portal, IGRS, prompting the CM's office to seek a formal report from the Circle Officer (CO) of Indirapuram. The Ghaziabad police have reportedly been given a deadline of July 21 to act on the matter; Hindustan Times couldn't independently verify the report. The woman had initially lodged her complaint on June 14, but claimed that no significant action was taken at the police station level. With no progress in her case, she turned to the Chief Minister's office in search of justice.
In her FIR, the woman alleged that she had been in a relationship with Dayal for five years. 'For the past 5 years, the complainant had been in a relationship with a cricketer. The man emotionally, mentally, and physically exploited her by misleading her with the promise of marriage. He introduced the complainant to his family and behaved like a husband, which made her trust him completely,' the FIR reads.
The complaint further alleges that after the woman confronted Dayal about his intentions, she was subjected to abuse. 'When the complainant realized the deception and protested, she was subjected to physical violence and mental harassment. During the relationship, the complainant was also exploited financially and emotionally.' Chat records, screenshots to back accusations
The woman also claimed that Dayal had accepted money from her and alleged he had behaved similarly with several other women. 'Later, it was found that the man was involved in similar false relationships with other girls too,' the statement adds.
According to her, she possesses 'chat records, screenshots, video calls, and photos as evidence' to back her allegations.
The FIR ends with a plea for an immediate and fair investigation. 'It has been requested that a swift investigation be conducted into the matter and that legal action be taken against the concerned individual. This step is not only important for her but also for all those girls who fall victim to such deceitful relationships.'
Dayal, who played 15 matches for RCB in IPL 2025 and took 13 wickets, has yet to respond publicly to the allegations.

Of Munir Ali and shaping cricketing lives
Munir Ali breathes cricket. After helping shape the career of his nephew Kabir Ali, who represented England in one Test and 14 ODIs, and then making Moeen Ali the cricketer he was — World Cup winner and an all-format champion — his current pet project is creating internationals out of his four grandsons. The latest source of pride is 17-year-old Isaac Mohammed who scored a 28-ball 42 against the visiting Indian U-19 team on Friday to leave his 70-year-old grandfather chuffed. 'He's [Isaac] is similar to Moeen, the way he plays. I remember he got out a few weeks ago and his father said 'you could have played the right shot.' Isaac replied, 'if that ball had gone for a six you would have said well played'. So that is the attitude.' As rosy and happy as it all seems now, things were tough for Munir in his early days. Born to a Pakistani-origin father and British mother, Munir worked as a male nurse and did odd jobs even as he completed his coaching badges to nurture the next generation's cricketing aspirations. The race barrier was an added hurdle. 'I remember Bishan Singh Bedi, a family friend of ours, saying to Kabir, 'you need to be 20 times better than the white guys'. He also said 'when you're playing in the team, you have to believe that you're the number one. Think like that and everything comes automatically'.' Moeen followed this advice diligently, going on to represent England in 68 Tests, 138 ODIs and 92 T20Is. But Munir felt his son could have finished with better numbers. 'I always ask the question, why did Moeen bat so low (No. 8, 9)? Why couldn't anybody else bat at No. 8? Why the sacrifice? To accommodate others. But he's still very lucky. He scored 3000 Test runs [3094], 200 wickets [204]. He's one of few who've done that.' Munir, who runs the Moeen Ali Cricket Academy here, said that while his son's success had indeed made it better for children with immigrant backgrounds, challenges remained. Rewari village shuns family of Indian Navy staffer arrested for alleged spying
The residents of Rewari's Punsika village in Haryana on Sunday (June 29, 2025) decided to socially boycott the family of Indian Navy staffer, Vishal Yadav, arrested by the intelligence wing of the Rajasthan Police four days ago on charges of spying for Pakistan. Sarpanch Satyalpal Yadav told media persons that a decision had been taken at a meeting to ostracise the family for 'bringing a bad name to the village'. The young men in the village had also been cautioned to not indulge in any such 'illegal and anti-national activities' in the future, he said. Mr. Vishal Yadav belonged to a well-off family, and was good at both studies and sports, Prem Prakash Yadav, a villager, told a news channel. Mr. Vishal Yadav's family had served the country as his grandfather was an ex-serviceman, and his father an Assistant Sub-Inspector in the Haryana Police, he added. Although the family had shifted to Rewari five years ago, Mr. Vishal Yadav's arrest has caused embarrassment to the entire village, Mr. Prem Prakash Yadav said, adding, 'It still is difficult for us to believe it.' Sunil, another villager, said Mr. Vishal Yadav had not been in touch with the villagers after his family had shifted out. 'We felt bad to learn about his arrest. We interacted with him when the family stayed in the village. To us, he seemed to be a well-behaved boy,' Mr. Sunil said.
