Wrestling legend Gail Kim has been backstage at recent WWE NXT tapings, fueling speculation about her future. The TNA Hall of Famer is one of the industry's most sought-after free agents.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, this week was not the first time she has been at the WWE Performance Center lately. Her visits have been kept very quiet.
WWE's Interest In Gail Kim
The Fightful report notes that when WWE sources were asked about her status, they confirmed she is not officially with the company "as of this moment." However, they did not deny her presence.
The report adds that WWE has been interested in bringing Kim on board since she became available. This suggests that ongoing discussions could be taking place.

Gail Kim Becomes A Top Free Agent After TNA Departure
Gail Kim became a free agent earlier this year. She was fired from her longtime backstage role as a producer and the head of the Knockouts division for TNA Wrestling.

Alex BierensHer departure immediately made her a top name on the open market. It was widely expected that both WWE and AEW would have interest in hiring her for a similar leadership role.
Kim's time in WWE is defined by two distinct, and very different, runs with the company. While she found immense success elsewhere, her WWE career was marked by a historic debut and a controversial exit.
Kim's first run began on the June 30, 2003, episode of Monday Night Raw. In a rare feat, she won the WWE Women's Championship in her debut match, a seven-woman battle royal. However, her reign lasted only four weeks before she lost the title to Molly Holly, and she was released from the company in 2004.
After becoming the cornerstone of the TNA/Impact Wrestling Knockouts division for several years, she returned to WWE in 2009. This second run was largely underwhelming, with Kim being underutilized and expressing frustration with the "Diva" focus of the women's division at the time. Her exit in 2011 became infamous: during a battle royal on Raw, she intentionally eliminated herself in the opening seconds and quit the company.
The Legacy Of Gail Kim
Gail Kim is a trailblazer in modern women's wrestling. She is a former WWE Women's Champion but is most celebrated for her legendary career in TNA.
As a multi-time Knockouts Champion, she is considered by many to be the greatest competitor in the history of that division. Her experience and respected mind for wrestling make her a valuable asset for any company.

WWE star Randy Orton reveals mental health battle: ‘Got to a dark place'
Randy Orton has opened up about the serious mental health problems he suffered while battling injury a few years ago. 'I didn't see us talking about this stuff, but I started kind of getting in my head,' the WWE superstar said on the 'What's Your Story?' podcast with Stephanie McMahon. 'And this is after I met [my wife]. And I have three stepsons, and I have two daughters, and I kind of got overwhelmed… I didn't really want to get into this, but I don't even give a f–k, like what the hell. We're all human.' Orton, 45, said he suffered panic attacks and took antidepressants and anti-anxiety medication around the time of his spinal fusion surgery in 2022, which was potentially career-ending. Getty Images The panic attacks, Orton said, made it hard to fly and difficult to fall asleep — he found himself staying up at night and walking around his yard at night, taking deep breaths. 'I was out for, like, a year and a half and it was like, here's my identity. This is who I am,' Orton said. 'This is like the one thing I know that I'm good at, and I get respect for, and I can't do it anymore. And for like six months, I was under the impression that was it.' It was during that period when Orton said things got especially difficult mentally. 'When I was young, I felt so mentally strong and mentally tough and nothing could shake me. And like, I got to a dark place and I started to revert back to some of my old habits,' Orton said. 'Luckily I was able to kind of nip it in the bud quick.' Woman Meets Shelter's Oldest Dog—Makes Her 'Best Spontaneous Decision' Ever
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A trip to the local animal shelter was only meant for visiting and scoping out potential pets, but a woman folded when she looked into the eyes of the oldest resident. Katie Nelson, known on TikTok as @kaatienelson, went to the animal shelter a week after graduating from college. She told Newsweek via TikTok that she always knew she wanted to adopt a senior pet, but this visit wasn't for that purpose. Or that's what she thought originally. She stumbled upon Astro, a nearly 11-year-old dog, and instantly knew this was her dog. Astro came into the animal shelter as a stray; however, based on context clues, such as his teeth, Nelson believes he was a breeding dog, and the previous owner dumped him. Astro was in the shelter for about two or three weeks before Nelson's spur-of-the-moment decision landed him in his forever home. She couldn't stand the thought of this senior dog spending another minute there, and the next day she returned for him. "I wasn't planning on adopting, but after I met him, I knew I had to bring him home, but I needed a day to get all of our supplies, so I came back the next day to pick him up!" she said. She wrote in the video caption that this became her "best spontaneous decision" ever. She said that "he's been doing great," and people often assume he is only a few months old, as he sports a new, youthful glow. However, he's just a senior dog living his best life in his golden years. "He is loving having his own space and going on new adventures," she said. "It seems like he's acting younger than he was when we first got him!" The dog's transformation from shelter life to being home with Nelson instantly captured people's hearts, and within three days, the TikTok video amassed over 4 million views, 912,500 likes and 4,780 comments. "He's aging backwards with you," pointed out a viewer. Another added: "Stop, you gave him his smile back." A third person said: "Thank you for giving him the life he deserves." On Colbert's ‘Late Show,' John Cena dishes on things to do in his native Essex County, Mass.
That's how one might describe 'Late Show' host Stephen Colbert's occasional 'Community Calendar' segments, during which a celebrity promotes actual events going on in their hometown. (Of course, the guest typically has a new movie or TV series to hype as well.) Colbert has been doing the clever bit for several years, inviting the likes of Colbert's latest guest, in case you missed it, was West Newbury's John Cena. The WWE superstar-turned-actor was ostensibly on 'The Late Show' last week to promote ' First up is a one-night class July 18th at Newburyport's Central Congregational Church called 'Developing a Psychic Sense.' ('How can you learn to be a psychic in one night?' Colbert said, removing his glasses. 'If you knew, you wouldn't need the class.') Next, on July 12th, is an archery-for-beginners course in Amesbury. ('And for everyone nearby,' said Cena, 'a great day to wear your thickest jacket.') There's also a fortune-telling-for-teens class on July 8 at Memorial Library in West Newbury and, on July 20th at the Afterward, in a conversation about ' Next month, Cena will also return as the title character in ' Mark Shanahan can be reached at
