Morgan Wallen Jokes He Wishes He Were Drunk for ‘SNL' 3 Months After Being Sentenced to DUI Classes

Morgan Wallen joked that he wishes he was drunk for 'Saturday Night Live' in a promo for his musical guest appearance this week — the irony being that the country star was just sentenced to DUI classes and two years of probation in December after pleading guilty to two misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment.
The bit began with 'SNL' cast member Chloe Fineman boasting that she loves spring in New York City — and that she's currently drunk — at the top of the promo. 'Anora' Best Actress Oscar winner Mikey Madison chimed in that she was drunk, too.
'I wish I was,' Wallen lamented.

In December, the 2024 CMA Entertainer of the Year pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment after he threw a chair from a rooftop in downtown Nashville in April 2024.
Included in his sentence is a week of DUI education and supervised probation for the next two years.
The chair-throwing incident was witnessed by two officers, as well as staff members of the six-story honky tonk bar called Chiefs. Video footage also showed Wallen 'lunging and throwing an object off the roof.' Fortunately, no one was injured by the thrown object.
The 'Cowgirls' singer posted his $15,250 bail and was released the following morning.
He shared this apology to his X account at the time: 'I didn't feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I've touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family and the good people at Chief's. I'm not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility.'
Wallen was previously arrested for public intoxication in 2020.
This weekend will mark the country singer's 'Saturday Night Live' debut. He was scheduled to perform in October 2020, but was replaced after he violated the show's COVID protocols at the time. His new album, 'I'm the Problem,' drops May 16 before he hits the road on a national tour with Miranda Lambert in June.

Jake Gyllenhaal has sold his home in a star-studded NYC building for $14M in an off-market deal

Call it his next chapter. Jake Gyllenhaal, the Oscar-nominated actor who keeps surprising audiences with his range and depth of characters, has just sold his Tribeca home in a former book-binding factory for $14 million, according to city records. The off-market sale at 443 Greenwich St. was first reported by the Real Deal. Gyllenhaal recently portrayed Iago in a buzzy and extra-expensive 'Othello' on Broadway with Denzel Washington that priced out many theater lovers. 4 Jake Gyllenhaal is one of many A-listers who have called 443 Greenwich home. WireImage 4 The condo was crafted from a former book-binding factory — and quickly became home to celebs. Jack Berman The former factory, built in 1882, has been home over the years to a galaxy of stars. Past and present residents include Jennifer Lawrence, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Harry Styles, Mike Myers and Meg Ryan. Renters in the building have included The Weeknd and his then-girlfriend, Bella Hadid. The edifice is presently home to Microsoft heiress Jennifer Gates, daughter of the billionaire Bill Gates and his ex-wife, Melinda Gates, as Gimme Shelter exclusively reported. Gates bought the penthouse for $51 million from Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton in 2023. Gyllenhaal's 2,868-square-foot, fifth-floor home opens with a large entry foyer and features three bedrooms, three baths and a chef's kitchen. He bought the unit for $8.6 million in 2017. Another apartment on the same floor is the only one currently on the market and in contract. It was last asking $13.3 million, according to StreetEasy. 4 The homes kept original building details, such as wooden beams, as seen in this rendering from its original marketing. HayesDavidson 4 The amenities on offer resemble those of a luxury resort. HayesDavidson The building's 53 units feature entry foyers with custom metal wall panels and 8-inch-wide white oak floors. Original details include Carolina yellow pine beams paired with mahogany windows, and antique bronze doors. The sale comes as the building's condo board is suing the developer, Nate Berman's Metro Loft and the architect, CetraRuddy, for $376 million, alleging breach of contract, alleged construction defects and code violations. Metro Loft and CetraRuddy have denied the allegations made in court filings. The case, filed in 2021, is ongoing.

How Erin Andrews, Charissa Thompson balance work and real-life relationships with NFL's biggest stars

Fox Sports personalities Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson lifted the lid on their close bond with the NFL's biggest stars following their offseason vacation with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. During a fan Q&A on the latest installment of their 'Calm Down' podcast, Andrews and Thompson didn't hold back when asked how they balance being professional and having 'fan energy' while interviewing the league's megastars. 'I don't,' said Andrews, 47, who is Fox's lead sideline reporter and covered Super Bowl 2025 in February. 'I'm a huge fan of all the guys I cover and I get so excited to talk to them.' 7 Charissa Thompson and Erin Andrews covering Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, as the 2025 game was aired on Fox on February 9. Instagram/Charissa Thompson Thompson, who hosts the 'Fox NFL Kickoff' show and 'Thursday Night Football' on Prime Video, agreed with Andrews. 'I still get really excited for whoever it is,' Thompson, 43, said. 'I remember [Buccaneers quarterback] Baker Mayfield has this crazy, crazy comeback and I totally turned into a fan and that was probably not professional, but I didn't care, that was f–king awesome. I'm a sports fan and dramatic finishes, and no matter who it is — next week, it could be the opposite in terms of who I'm rooting for. 'I like to watch good football and if something good happens for guys we root for and care about, then yeah, I don't care… There is a time and a place, but then you also still need to have the balance of professional cadence.' 7 CeeDee Lamb #88 of the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott #4 of the Dallas Cowboys are interviewed by Erin Andrews after the game against the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium on November 12, 2023 in Arlington, Texas. 'Listen, it's taken us a minute to get where we are,' said Andrews, who is married to retired two-time Stanley Cup champion Jarret Stoll. 'You have to build up credibility… with not only with viewers at home, your bosses and also, the players and the coaches. You can't go into things when you first start with any job like, 'Oh my god!' People will look at you and be like,' You're an a–hole.' 7 (L-R) Charissa Thompson, Tony Gonzalez, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andrew Whitworth, Richard Sherman on set of the TNF on Prime postgame show after a Seahawks-Bears game at Soldier Field on December 26, 2024 in Chicago, Illinois. And it's so true. '… There is nothing wrong with sitting on the [show] desk with Baker after an amazing game or any of these guys and be like, 'Can we just talk about this last play?' It's awesome.' Last month, Kelce posted Instagram photos from his and Swift's offseason getaway with Andrews, Stoll, Thompson and her longtime boyfriend, Steven Cundari. 7 Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift, Charissa Thompson, Steven Cundari, Jarret Stoll and Erina Andrews during an offseason getaway before the 2025 NFL campaign. Andrews and Thompson shipped a romance between Kelce and Swift, both 35, before the couple got together in the summer of 2023. During a previous episode of their 'Calm Down podcast, Andrews and Thompson publicly encouraged Swift to give the three-time Super Bowl winner a chance after he failed to pass along a friendship bracelet at a July 2023 Eras Tour show with his telephone number on it. Swift attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023 before stepping out publicly with Kelce a month later.

MTV Finally Gives Country Music Its Moment

For more than 40 years, the MTV Video Music Awards have ranked one of the biggest and most nights in music. The ceremony has introduced, dropped, and revived dozens of categories throughout the decades, but somehow, in all that time, country music never had a category of its own. Finally, after decades, that's changed. This year, the VMAs debut Best Country Video, a long‑overdue recognition of one of America's most popular genres. It arrives alongside another new honor, Best Pop Artist, in an expanded list of possible winners. Six Nominees Compete for First Best Country Video The inaugural Best Country Video race includes Chris Stapleton's 'Think I'm In Love With You,' Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood's 'I'm Gonna Love You,' Jelly Roll's 'Liar,' Lainey Wilson's '4x4xU,' Megan Moroney's 'Am I Okay?,' and Morgan Wallen's 'Smile.' Country Nominees Appear in Other Races Morgan Wallen is one of just seven artists competing for Artist of the Year, alongside Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, and Taylor Swift. He's also in the running for Best Album with I'm The Problem. Jelly Roll appears in the Best Hip‑Hop category as a featured artist on Eminem's 'Somebody Save Me,' which is also up for Video for Good. Country Stars Outside the Country Category Several country acts earn nominations this year without competing in Best Country Video. Ella Langley is up for Best New Artist. Bailey Zimmerman and Luke Combs share a nod in Best Collaboration for 'Backup Plan (Stagecoach Official Music Video),' while Blake Shelton is featured on Post Malone's 'Pour Me A Drink' in that same field, where they'll compete against heavy hitters like Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, the most nominated artist this year. Decades of VMAs Without a Country Category The VMAs have long been known to feature a revolving door of categories. Some were staples for years before being retired, like Best Stage Performance in a Video, Viewer's Choice, Best Concept Video, and Best Video Game Soundtrack. Others — such as Best Latin and Best K‑Pop — were introduced more recently as MTV responded to changing tastes and global music trends. Somehow, until now, country music never received the same treatment. That's despite the genre's massive sales and streaming numbers, its dominance on the charts, and its own thriving music video tradition. Now, the style, which has been gaining ground recently – even Beyoncé put out a country album – is earning its moment.
