"Doesn't even deserve to be in opposition": BJP MLA Mahesh Tenginkai slams Congress over Priyank Kharge's RSS remark
The BJP MLA stated that his party will remain in power for the next 20 years and that no attention will be given to Priyank Kharge's statement.
'Priyank Kharge should think once. BJP is PM Narendra Modi's party, which will stay in power for 20 more years. Your party (Congress) will not be in power. It doesn't even deserve to be in opposition...There is no need to give more attention to his statement', the BJP MLA said.
Following Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge's statement of imposing a ban on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the BJP has hit back at the Congress leader, stating that the minister is 'threatening bans' as he feels that the situation in the country is like the year 1975.
The Karnataka unit of the BJP slammed Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge through an 'X' post. Stating that Kalaburagi, which has been 'ruled' by Kharge for more than 50 years, remains one of the most 'underdeveloped' parts of Karnataka.
'Priyank Kharge, a minister only because of his father's influence, is now threatening bans like it's 1975 all over again. The Congress's alleged 'President/High Command' Mallikarjun Kharge ruled the Kalaburagi region for half a century. Furthermore, the BJP stated that the both Priyank and Mallikarjun Kharge had so much to contribute towards the development of the state, but they spent their time 'chasing fantasies' like banning RSS.
The 'X' post said that Priyank Kharge feels that he can distract the attention of Karnataka people by making such statements, but he has 'failed' in his attempt.
'Mini Kharge, along with his father, had so much to contribute but spent their time chasing fantasies like banning the RSS. And if he thinks making such statements will distract Kannadigas from the Multi Crore Housing Committee scam, he has failed. Just like he did in first PUC', the 'X' post said.
Priyank Kharge on Tuesday slammed Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) over their General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale's statement demanding reconsideration of the terms 'socialist' and 'secular' in the Preamble of the Indian Constitution.
Alleging that the RSS wants to 'alter' the Indian Constitution, Kharge said that these are the same people who 'staged a protest when the constituent assembly debates were going on and burned the constitution'.
Responding to recent remarks made by Hosabale, the Karnataka Minister said, 'Very clearly, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar in his last speech has defined anti-nationals as those who create animosity by bringing in caste, and those people who are going to impede the social, political and economic progress of the country are the real anti-national. Those people who sow the seeds of communal hatred in society are anti-national. So who's doing that right now?...'. (ANI)

No respite as confusion prevails over Delhi fuel ban, orders awaited
After an intense backlash over the recent fuel ban targeting End-of-Life (EOL) vehicles, the Delhi Government yesterday announced that EOL vehicles will not be impounded. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa clarified on Thursday that the government is working on an alternative system to manage vehicular pollution without compromising citizens' rights.'We will not let Delhi's environment be harmed, nor will we permit the confiscation of vehicles owned by its residents,' Sirsa assured, signaling a softened stance after days of confusion and controversy stems from a direction issued under the 2018 Supreme Court ruling that bans diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years in Delhi. A separate 2014 NGT order also bars such vehicles from parking in public spaces. The implementation of this directive recently extended to fuel stations, prohibiting fuel sales to EOL vehicles, a move that was heavily criticised. "If they could revoke it now, why didn't they do so earlier?" he asked, raising doubts about the motivations behind the Leader of Opposition Atishi echoed similar sentiments, branding the BJP as a 'government of U-turns' that acts under public pressure without any consistency or accountability. She pointed out that despite the public statements, no official order has yet been issued to withdraw the ELV fuel ban, further deepening the confusion. Atishi also alleged collusion between the BJP and automobile manufacturers, claiming the sudden push to scrap over 62 lakh vehicles in Delhi was driven by vested commercial interests rather than environmental concern. Demanding transparency, she challenged the BJP to reveal how much funding it had received from car manufacturers and scrap dealers, calling for answers to what she termed a betrayal of public the Delhi government's plea for postponement, CAQM is yet to issue a formal response, leaving fuel station operators in limbo.
