The Jags are now in the driving seat to progress to the next stage after another impressive evening for Mark Wilson's side.
But the third consecutive League Cup win was marred by shocking scenes after full-time.
Both clubs have confirmed that Police Scotland are dealing with an incident which left the young supporter injured.
It's being widely suggested online that young Queen of the South fans were targeted and had their drum nicked by Thistle supporters.
It's claimed one of the Queen of the South fans sustained a head injury in the altercation.
The individual was treated by Partick Thistle's medical team inside the stadium and the club have since admitted that players and staff were shocked by the incident.
A statement read: "Players and officials of Partick Thistle were appalled at the incident that occurred after the final whistle in last night's game with Queen of the South at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill.
"We thank the group of home and away fans that came to the assistance of the young visiting supporter in the aftermath and also thank our first team medical staff who applied treatment in the club's physio department.
"Queen of the South have provided an update this morning and we are pleased to hear that the young person involved is doing well and echo their wishes for a speedy recovery.
"The matter is now in the hands of Police Scotland."
A Queen of the South statement read: "The club are disappointed with the incident that took place after our cup tie against Partick Thistle last night.
"We are delighted to hear that those involved are ok and wish them a speedy recovery. Supporters should be allowed to follow their team safely and we are pleased that the matter is now being handled by Police Scotland.
"Thank you to all the Partick and Queens fans who helped in the aftermath and to Partick Thistle FC for their assistance."

Lennon Miller to Bologna transfer domino that has yet to fall as Celtic told 'truth' about hijack attempt
The Motherwell midfielder is attracting interest from across Europe this summer Bologna are reportedly holding off on a formal bid for Motherwell prospect Lennon Miller as they look to sell on their key stars. The Serie A side and their rivals Udinese are both keen on the £5million-rated teenager - who did not feature in any of the Steelmen's Premier Sports Cup group stage games. Fir Park boss Jens Berthel Askou has admitted he could hand the 18-year-old a first appearance of the season in the Premiership opener against Rangers next Saturday if he remains at the club. And that looks increasingly likely with Gazzetta dello Sport report that Bologna want to offload Dan Ndoye before splurging more cash in the summer market. Napoli and Nottingham Forest are reportedly battling it out for a £43million deal - with the Italian side now pressing pause on an incoming stars as they await a cash injection. That leaves the door open other clubs to snap up the Scotland internatioanal with Udinese and Como among the interested parties - while Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is understood to be a fan of Miller. And despite his dad Lee stating that Miller Jr is keen on a move away from the Scottish Premiership, the Hoops have been urged to push for a deal before it's too late. Former Parkhead defender Charlie Mulgrew reckons the Scottish champions could land the wonderkid for a low fee, telling Go Radio: "I'd love to see Celtic sign Lennon Miller. "I think that'd be a brilliant bit of business. Play him in one of those number eight roles, ease him into the season, and there's no doubt, he'd be one of Celtic's top performers this year if they get him in. 'Imagine him in that position, getting loads of the ball, using that wand of a right foot to dictate games. It'd be class to watch. 'And truth be told, it wouldn't even be that expensive to get him out of Motherwell, especially with them needing to sell.' Robinson hails 'maverick' Idowu and goalscorer Phillips
Stephen Robinson hailed "maverick" Roland Idowu and two-goal Killian Phillips as their St Mirren side secured top place in Premier Sports Cup Group D and a place in the last the Irishman who joined the Buddies permanently this summer after last season's loan from Shrewsbury Town, set up both goals for his fellow 23-year-old midfielder in their 2-1 win over Ayr United."Roland, we played him just off [striker] Mikael [Mandron] and told him to float into those wider areas where the goal came from because it's very congested in the middle of the pitch," manager Robinson told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound."He was excellent. He was involved in both goals. He's a maverick, he's someone who can change the game for us and he's someone we're trying to bring into the game."Him and Conor McMenamin, Jalmaro [Calvin] when he gets up to speed, are boys that can do things we haven't had previously."As for Phillips, who has signed permanently after his loan from Crystal Palace, Robinson said: "We have worked constantly on cutting balls back and making runs and Killian is getting his just rewards and he's adding goals to the other good attributes he's got."The visiting Championship side pulled a goal back in the second half, but Robinson added: "The way we played in the first half, I thought we were outstanding. We got a little bit casual in the second half and didn't do the simple things well."We lose a goal from a set-play and the momentum swings and puts us on the back foot, but we showed the character and quality and we should have gone and finished the game off with three or four more goals."

Only Celtic switch up for Rangers Champions League congestion can soothe Premier Sports Cup fixture headache
Both of the big two being handed home ties against Falkirk and Alloa severely limits the options of then ties can be played Both Celtic and Rangers being handed home draws has given the SPFL a fixture headache. Both entered the League Cup at the second round stage along with the other European qualifiers from the Premiership. But it's the big two's Champions League qualifiers that could throw a spanner in the domestic works in terms of both playing in Glasgow on the same weekend. Holders Celtic are at home to top flight new boys Falkirk while Russell Martin's side host Alloa Athletic at Ibrox on the weekend of August 16/17. Gers take a 2-0 Champions League second round qualifying first leg lead to Athens this week, looking to finish the job against Panathinaikos. Do so, and they will face either Servette or Viktoria Plzen in the third qualifying round. It's not unthinkable that they will book a spot in the playoff round alongside their city rivals, leaving both 180 minutes away from the lucrative league phase. The first legs of those ties will be played on Tuesday August 19 and Wednesday 20, with the Premier Sports Cup fixtures being played the weekend prior. That's still a while away, but it won't be known if Rangers make it before the TV picks for the domestic cup clashes are made. That rules out the Sunday with at least one of them set to play on the Tuesday, and assuming Police Scotland don't go for staggered kick-offs on Saturday August 16, then the most obvious solution at this stage looks like Celtic hosting the Bairns on Friday 15. There is a precedent for both to kick-off on their own respective patches at the same time, however. July 2022 saw the Light Blues host Tottenham Hotspur in the friendly while Norwich City were across town at Celtic Park. Both games kicked off at 3pm on the same day in the same city - which was the first time that had happened since January 1999. Just under 38,000 watched Rangers beat Stenhousemuir 2-0 in the Scottish Cup while over 42,000 were at Parkhead to see the Hoops see off Airdrie 3-1.
