Yankees quietly gave Juan Soto his AL Championship ring Friday in a hallway
According to The Athletic's Tyler Kepner, Aaron Boone made his way through the ballpark's bowels while the Mets took batting practice and the buzz built inside Yankee Stadium. In the tunnel between the clubhouses, with pallets of water and hot dog buns stored against the walls, Boone carried the rings in a Yankees shopping bag.

Boone first stopped to greet Mets pitcher Clay Holmes and coach Desi Druschel, both former Yankees, handing over their 2024 American League Championship rings. Then Juan Soto emerged alone.

Boone handed him the box. Soto opened it and admired the ring. Soto, after all, was a big part of getting that ring for the Yankees.
But now he was a Met and most of the 47,000 fans at Yankee Stadium Friday were waiting to boo and jeer Soto. He bolted the Bronx after one glorious season to play for the hated crosstown rivals. Or to play for the $765 million, which was somehow worse for the fans.
There was no video tribute Friday night, something the Yankees had decided back in spring training. There was just plenty of vitriol for Soto.
It could have been an awkward moment on the field if the Yankees had honored Soto with a ring in front of fans. They settled for a quiet, understated exchange between a manager and the superstar.

Aaron Rodgers reveals how mysterious wife's 20-year-old sister influenced $13.6 million Steelers decision
Aaron Rodgers is spilling some tea on his mysterious wife's family. The new Steelers quarterback, who has been notoriously tight-lipped about the identity of his significant other, spoke openly about his in-laws in a feature published Friday by The Athletic, specifically how his wife's 20-year-old sister offered her input on his one-year, $13.65 million contract with Pittsburgh. 'I was taking orders from my (new) sister-in-law, Mia,' a smiling Rodgers said, according to the outlet. 'She's 20 and she's the brains of the family; you just have to ask her.' Archie Carpenter/UPI/Shutterstock Rodgers, 41, has been enjoying his newlywed era after revealing in June he's been married for a 'couple of months.' The four-time league MVP stirred marriage buzz that very same month when he was photographed wearing a black band on his left ring finger after putting pen to paper with the Steelers. Advertisement '… Every team that I talked to, I said, 'Listen, if I play, I'm not going to take a ton of money. I've made a ton of money. I don't need the money,' Rodgers told The Athletic. Rodgers revealed in December 2024 that he was involved with a woman named Brittani following high-profile romances with retired NASCAR driver Danica Patrick and actress Shailene Woodley. 5 Aaron Rodgers has been involved with a woman named Brittani as of December 2024. 'My private life is my private life and it's going to stay that way, and I'm with somebody who wants to be private, and if and when she wants to be out and there's a picture, she'll choose that,' he said in June on 'The Pat McAfee Show.' Even though his wife has remained out of the spotlight, Rodgers has continued to gush publicly about his 'rock.' '… To have that person that unconditionally loves you behind the scenes, there's no better feeling in the world, and I've got the most incredible wife.' Rodgers has his wife's support as he readies for his first Steelers season. He is coming off two less-than-memorable seasons with the Jets after an 18-year career in Green Bay. Rodgers, who has hinted the 2025 campaign could be his last, will face his former Jets team in Week 1.
