Memphis Tigers Key to the Season
Somehow make this all mesh.Memphis was loaded with veterans last season, with seemingly everything in place to put up a dominant season. For the most part, it all worked. This time around, the schedule is about as easy as can be reasonably asked for, but it'll be a grind if a starting 22 with somewhere between 14 to 16 transfers isn't jelled early on, especially on offense.
Memphis Tigers Key Player
Brendon Lewis, QB Sr.The Tigers desperately need a veteran quarterback to take the quarterback gig by the horns with so many new parts coming in.Lewis was supposed to be the main man for Colorado, and he looked okay as a sophomore with a strong season. He didn't do much in his third season, left for a rough situation at Nevada - the Wolf Pack were starting over. He was great on the ground, running for 1,270 yards and 12 scores in two years in Reno.X CFN, Fiu | CFN Facebook | Bluesky Fiu, CFN2025 Memphis PreviewMemphis Offense BreakdownMemphis Defense Breakdown
Memphis Tigers Top Transfer, Biggest Transfer Loss
Top Transfer In: Sam Brumfield, LB Sr.He might not be as flashy as some of the key skill parts, and there are other vital defenders, but he should blow up on the outside of the Tiger linebacking corps. He made 81 tackles in his first year at Middle Tennessee, 60 last season at Virginia Tech, and now he'll be one of the top pass rushers.Top Transfer Out: Xavier Hill, OG Sr.The Memphis line lost four starters, but not having Hill around is the biggest hit. The 6-4, 318-pound guard was one of the keys to the running game, and now he'll work for Coach Prime at Colorado.
Memphis Tigers Key Game
Tulane, Nov. 7There aren't any conference road games to worry about too much. If Memphis is even close to competent, it should roll through the AAC slate, so beating Tulane for the second year in a row could be enough to get to the conference title game.- 2025 Memphis Schedule Breakdown

Memphis Tigers 2025 Season Prediction, Win Total, What Will Happen
Just how quickly can the Memphis transfers form a cohesive team?If it can do it fast, it should rip through this slate. It's about as easy as it gets in the American Athletic Conference, with no Army to deal with and the three nastiest league games against Navy, Tulane, and USF all at home.Even the one tough Power Four game against Arkansas is in Simmons Bank Liberty.
Going to Georgia State will be sneaky tough, and the home games against the top AAC teams will be fights, but it's Memphis. It'll push through and be deep in the mix for another double-digit win season. But … (whispering) The record will be far better than the team will be.Set The Memphis Win Total At … 8.5Likely Wins: Chattanooga, Tulsa, at UAB50/50 Games: at East Carolina, at Florida Atlantic, at Georgia State, Navy, at Rice, Tulane, at Troy, USFLikely Losses: Arkansas 2025 Memphis PreviewMemphis Offense BreakdownMemphis Defense Breakdown

Pro Football Focus ranks two star Aggies as Top 50 college players

Texas A&M will enter the 2025 season stacked with talent at every position. Still, most importantly, the players at the top of the depth chart bring a ton of SEC snaps to the table, especially across the offensive line and at linebacker. In the trenches, left tackle Trey Zuhn III, left guard Chase Bisontis, center Mark Nabou, right guard Ar'maj Reed-Adams, and right tackle Dametreous Crownover all possess NFL potential. However, Adams represents the entire group due to his elite run-blocking skill set, paired with his violent demeanor and overall toughness, making him a likely first or second-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. This offseason, Adams has been praised by nearly every college football outlet, including Pro Football Focus. Paired with junior linebacker Taurean York, the former three-star recruiting prospects have surpassed their expectations and will be heavily relied upon throughout the 2025 season. This week, PFF released its "50 best players" list, comprised of the site's top-ranked college players heading into the fall. Unsurprisingly, Adams landed at No. 16 and is the fourth offensive lineman ranked below Clemson's Peter Woods (No. 3), Utah tackle Spencer Fano, and Florida center Jake Slaughter. "Reed-Adams dominated in his first year with the Aggies. The Kansas transfer ranked second in PFF overall grade, PFF run-blocking grade and PFF WAA among Power Four guards. He is a powerful player at 6-foot-5 and 330 pounds who can excel in any run-blocking scheme. Reed-Adams led all Power Four guards in gap PFF run-blocking grade and ranked fourth in zone PFF run-blocking grade this past season." Linebacker Taurean York is regarded as the best or second-best prospect at the position behind former Texas A&M commit Anthony Hill Jr., who has since thrived during his last two seasons with the Longhorns. York's instincts and elite run-stopping ability should result in his best season yet as he continues to improve in coverage. Just a three-star recruit, York hasn't let his recruiting profile dictate his college career. He has been a starter in each of his first two college seasons and leads all returning Power Four linebackers with 59 run-defense stops since 2023. His 122 plays with first contact on ball carriers are tied for fourth in the Power Four. York has a stocky build at 6 feet and 235 pounds, and he is an excellent tackler. In the upcoming College Football 26 video game, Adams possesses the highest rating on the team (93), with York tied for third (90). Memphis Football Preview 2025: Can the Tigers Break Through in a Rebuild Year?

You can't call an 11-2 season a disappointment, so let's take it somewhere was frustrating. Memphis football was frustrating, but only because it was all supposed to blow up last his fifth season, head coach Ryan Silverfield had the team, schedule, and talent to go to the College Football Playoff, or at least win the AAC title. But it didn't, and even with all the positives and all of the wins, Memphis flew under the radar. But that's nothing new. X CFN, Fiu | CFN Facebook | Bluesky Fiu, CFN Memphis Offense BreakdownMemphis Defense BreakdownSeason Prediction, Win Total, Keys to SeasonConsidering it's the second-winningest school in the College Football Playoff era that hasn't yet played in the tournament, Memphis continues to go beat Tulane, took down USF, and it even went into Florida State and came away with a 20-12 win, but it all fizzled away with losses to Navy and UTSA. Beating a depleted West Virginia in the Frisco Bowl was nice, but … It was the second-winningest season in school history, and it became an afterthought in a State with the big flagship school going to the College Football Playoff, and with Vanderbilt pulling out one of its most impressive seasons in a long now Silverfield has to keep on grinding out Memphis coach has ever won 21 games over two seasons like Silverfield has. Last year was the program's winningest season behind the massive 12-2 2019 run under Mike Norvell, and there's the bowl thing. Memphis has won eight bowl games, and Silverfield has four of the victories, going 4-0. Norvell was now there's work to do. This year's team is undergoing an overhaul of talent; it'll need fall camp to get all of the pieces together, and as good as Memphis has been, it has to be even schedule works, and there are pieces, but … Memphis Offense BreakdownMemphis Defense BreakdownSeason Prediction, Win Total, Keys to Season © 2025 The Arena Group Holdings, Inc.
