My date was a terrible kisser - but that wasn't the worst part
We had talked and laughed throughout dinner before going to a show.
We spoke about everything, from my disability – I am an ambulatory wheelchair user with chronic pain, as well as autistic and have ADHD – my job, love of musical theatre, and his passion for travel. He even told me more about his family and how he had recently been to visit them for a holiday.
When we got back into my car after my dream date, we continued talking, while listening to music. Eventually he leaned over and kissed me. I'd been waiting for this all night.
And that's where things started to go wrong.
The kiss was bad. Oh god, it was terrible.
It was sloppy, all teeth, as if he'd never kissed anyone before and had no idea what he was doing. He'd clearly never even practiced on the back of his hand.
He kissed me a few more times and I found myself pulling away because it was so unappealing. I was shocked and extremely disappointed; kissing is important to me – I love a snogging session.

I went home feeling unsure. Jay was the best date I'd had in a long time but if he couldn't deliver on the kissing front, I wasn't sure I was willing to compromise.
This uncertainty prompted me to try to find out more about him. Jay had sent me a screenshot of our dinner table reservation, which had given me his full name, so I typed it into the search engine.
His Facebook account popped straight up. And right there, at the top of his feed, was a wedding picture of him and his new bride – from three weeks earlier.
I felt a punch in my stomach, and then I started to laugh. I had been lied to and didn't even consider there to be another explanation.
He was married. And I instantly decided that I was never seeing him again.
I clicked on the picture. There were over 30 comments congratulating Jay and his wife, as well as his replies, thanking them.
The most galling part is that the pictures were taken in the same location he had told me he had been to visit his family on 'holiday'. But that was clearly where he had done his wedding ceremony.
By this time, it was after midnight and I knew Jay would be asleep. So I decided to take a screenshot of the wedding photo with the comments and send it to him on WhatsApp.
'Would you like to explain this?' I wrote. No immediate response.
Lying in bed that night, I couldn't help but look back on the date. There wasn't actually anything he said or did to raise any red flags that he could be married, so I'm glad I was proactive and looked him up.
A part of me was relieved because this meant that I didn't have to kiss him again. In fact, I even felt sorry for his wife.
The next morning, I still didn't have a reply from Jay so I checked his profile and discovered that he had blocked me on everything.
To this day, I have never seen or heard from him. H
The whole experience made me even more cautious about dating than I already was; it made me question others' intentions, whether they are already in a relationship, who to trust, and so much more. More Trending
Yet I knew I couldn't judge all men by that one guy. That hasn't stopped me from asking dates I've been on if they're married.
I try to laugh it off, but it is always in the back of my head that I am being lied to. I am extremely paranoid.
I now know to trust my gut when it comes to bad kissing – and definitely not settle for it.

Scots Tesco becomes home to pet cat who loves sleeping on shelves
The friendly moggy has brought smiles to many shoppers who look forward to seeing him at the Rutherglen store. A pet cat has been bringing joy to Scots shoppers at a Tesco supermarket. The friendly feline, understood to be named Ra, has been spotted posing for the camera and sleeping in boxes at a local Tesco in Rutherglen, Glasgow. In recent months, Ra has captured the attention of customers, with dozens posting their snaps of him in his favourite spots. One local, Stewart Walker, said Ra - who is also known as the Mayor of Burnside - is a "friendly" cat who makes everyone smile. Speaking to our sister title, Glasgow Live, he said: "Ra is such a friendly wee thing. He is no bother and just finds his space in the foyer of Tesco Burnside. "I've driven in early morning when he's been at the wee crossing in the car park and waits until you stop, then he greets you. "If it's warm and sunny he will lie up near the wall next to the ATM sunbathing. "He actually makes you smile. Bumping into the Mayor AKA RA he lifts what could have been a bad day and makes you smile. "Everybody stops to talk to him, and the kids love to see him about. They pet him - he's just so friendly with everyone. "Hopefully, he gets his own Facebook page and becomes an extra member of the Tesco staff. He could be the community champion cat." Another local, Laura, also shared a snap of Ra on social media. She said: "He's such a friendly wee cat. Everyone talks to him. "I see him chill out in the trolleys a few times as well. The trolleys that have the wee seats for kids and he lies in them. "I've even seen him walking across the zebra crossing, and the driver stopped! "He loves the attention. I see him every time I'm there - that's about five times a week."

Another EastEnders couple ripped apart as wicked Cindy causes more trouble
Wicked Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) wreaks further havoc on her son Peter Beale's (Thomas Law) relationship with Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) in EastEnders next week. The couple have had their ups and downs in recent months, having been torn apart as they processed their newborn son Jimmy's sight impairment in very different ways. Amid their turmoil, Lauren kissed former flameZack Hudson (James Farrar), who himself had been through the emotional wringer thanks to his feud with the Mitchells over son Barney (Lewis Bridgeman). So far, their clinch has remained a secret. Enter Cindy. Next week, sinful Cindy gets a hunch that something is going on between arch enemy Lauren and Zack – and wastes no time in using it to her advantage. It comes as Lauren and Peter start to get closer again, as she turns to him for reassurances about Jimmy's diagnosis. Lauren later finds Peter taking a guitar lesson from Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) after finding out that his playing helped soothe Jimmy. Jay gives Peter some food for thought when he advises him to stop looking back and move on with Lauren and their children. Meanwhile, Cindy spots Lauren and Zack sharing a hug, and goes to ex Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) with her suspicions that they are having an affair. As Lauren and Peter enjoy a family picnic together in the Square gardens, they bond as they tell their other son Louie about Jimmy's blindness. However, Cindy soon arrives and makes a huge accusation, which eventually forces Lauren to admit that she kissed Zack. Things are tense the following day when Lauren and Peter receive a set of results about Jimmy's blindness that confirms it has been caused by a genetic mutation, not Lauren's opioid addiction. More Trending As they take the news in, a row breaks out – and with tempers flared, Peter later takes his anger out on Zack and hits him. But Lauren and Peter soon have much bigger things to worry about when they return home and find that Louie and Jimmy are both missing. What has happened to the young brothers? Vinny horrified as major Emmerdale legend overhears private moment with Kammy
A new friendship for Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) turned to confusion on Emmerdale recently when Vinny got carried away and tried to kiss his friend Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah). Kammy is confident, relaxed and reckless – all the things Vinny isn't, basically. So when they spent an afternoon getting revenge on a delivery driver who'd made some pointed comments to Vinny, he was swept away by the excitement and fun they were having. He leaned in to kiss Kammy, who didn't reciprocate. They then tried to brush the whole thing off as being a joke. 'Kammy isn't bothered about the kiss, he more feels for Vinny,' Shebz Miah confirmed. 'Kammy's so relaxed. Kammy's so confident in his sexuality. It's more that he wants to offer a helping hand, because it's a very tricky situation now that Vinny's in. We've got Gabs on one hand, then all the other stuff in Vinny's life and how does it affect that?' With Vinny's wedding to Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) coming up soon, Vinny is now feeling incredibly anxious about what happened with Kammy, particularly after Gabby insists that Kammy is on the guest list for the wedding. When Vinny has to take Gabby's car to the garage to be serviced, he can't avoid Kammy any longer. As they talk, Gabby passes by on the phone with Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and there's a glitch in the call that means Laurel can hear everything Kammy and Vinny are talking about. It's not long before Laurel demands a private word with Vinny and he's naturally nervous about what Gabby's step-mum might be about to say. Knowing that Gabby has previously had her heart broken when former fiancé Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope) jilted her on their wedding day after admitting he was gay, Laurel is obviously worried that history could be about to repeat itself. For Vinny's sake as much as Gabby's she begs him to consider carefully whether he's absolutely sure about the relationship with Gabby. She says if he has any doubts, he shouldn't go ahead. Rosie Bentham told us that potentially Gabby would be more devastated if this wedding didn't happen than she was with Nicky. More Trending 'I think this one would hit even deeper because it is someone that she genuinely has feelings for and has developed a very strong connection with,' she reflected. 'I think if Vinny is questioning things and really struggling, some communication needs to happen. But this stuff with Kammy, I don't know how it would be initially received.
