Coronation Street viewers were taken aback upon hearing the real voice of Gareth Pierce, who portrays Todd Grimshaw, for the first time.
The actor made his first appearance on the soap in 2020, taking over from Bruno Langley, who had portrayed Todd since 2001.

Over the years, Todd has been embroiled in numerous major storylines. From surprising failed romances to numerous feuds, his tenure on the cobbles has been anything but drama-free.

Particularly this year, when he began a romance with Silverton (James Cartwright). However, it was later revealed that Theo was married to Danielle (Natalie Anderson) and they had two children.

Coronation Street favourite sacked on the spot after weird behaviour

Debbie Webster decided to kiss Ryan Connor during Monday night's episode of Coronation Street, but things did not end well when he tried to offer her support. Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) was diagnosed with dementia on Coronation Street some months ago, but on Monday night's episode of the ITV soap, her struggles started to take their toll on other residents of Weatherfield. ‌ The Street favourite manages the Chariot Square Hotel and was at the front desk alongside colleague Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) on what appeared to be a normal morning until things took a surprising turn. When an angry guest started an argument with Debbie over her lack of sleep, the hotel manager fired back at her with a torrent of sarcastic comments that the customer caught on camera. However, Ryan convinced her to delete the footage and when he tells Debbie that he managed to appease her letting her know that his boss is "under a lot of stress" at the moment, a delighted Debbie grabbed him and kissed him. Ryan was visibly shocked and left the front desk for a period of time, but when he returned and attempted to confront Debbie over the incident, she seemingly had no recollection. ‌ When Debbie's partner Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) came to the hotel looking for her, he found Ryan, who explained that she was out but revealed his concerns to him after he researched vascular dementia following her surprise move. He wondered if she had "misread the signals", and confessed that she kissed him earlier that morning but Debbie herself interrupted the awkward moment as she came back to work. Oblivious to what has gone on, Ronnie tells Debbie that Ryan has told him about the kiss but she looked confused for a second and then decided to brush it off as a "friendly smacker". ‌ Things only got worse in for all involved in the situation when Ryan decided to try to diffuse things by suggesting they forget about everything, but an angry Debbie took offence at the fact that others had been discussing her condition and stormed out. Later on, Debbie worried that no one would be able to look at her without seeing her condition and when Ryan tried to apologise to her whilst mentioning her condition again, she decided to sack him on the spot and ordered him to clear out his locker. In the Rovers, she explained to Ronnie that she refuses to see her condition as a "death sentence", but the kiss seemed to have been the least of Debbie's worries as earlier that morning she had caught brother Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) with a split lip and bruises. She soon realised he was in need of financial help and offered to step in. But she mistakenly believed that he only needed a small sum, although in the garage it soon became apparent that the mechanic was in far more debt than originally thought. ‌ Following a threatening phone call overheard by Abi ( Sally Carman), she coaxes the problem out of him and he claims that he is £50,000 in debt to those whom he loaned the money from to keep his business going. A desperate Abi pleaded with Carl to raise the money and admitted that she "couldn't bear" to lose him as their secret affair continued to heat up. But when Carl revealed the full extent of his need to Debbie, she was exasperated he refused to reveal to her what he actually wanted it for. She left the pub, and, moments later, Abi appeared and he reassured her that he was "in the clear" about everything. But that was not the case, as he received a text message demanding the money. For actress Sue, she previously spoke of how "frightened" she was in taking on the dementia storyline and explained to The Mirror: 'I was a little bit frightened. It was a lot of information to process, because it's not like a drama series where you might be doing it for six weeks. This is playing someone with dementia for one, two, three years. So, it was a case of 'can I do it? Am I ready?' ‌ "I don't do things by halves. I'm either all in or all out. I like to research and get the best I can out of a script, so it can consume my life for as long as the story lasts.' Recalling the meeting with cobbles boss Kate Brooks, Sue, 57, added: 'Our first chat was really thorough. She said: 'I love Debbie and I want you to tell this story. It's going to be a heartbreaking journey of emotion and honesty. Sad, hopeful, uplifting and truthful. Will you do it?' 'I went home and didn't sleep a wink that night. I talked it through with my husband. He said 'what would be the reason for not doing it?' I realised it was fear."

Paul Gascoigne leaves hospital and 'doing well' at home as health issue becomes clear

Paul Gascoigne has been discharged from hospital after a scary incident in his home on Friday night, but the 58-year-old ex-footballer is still recovering from the problem Paul Gascoigne has returned home from hospital but is still 'very poorly', according to a close friend. Gascoigne was admitted to hospital on Friday after collapsing at home in Poole, Dorset. The 58-year-old ex-footballer was discovered semi-conscious in his bedroom and was rushed to A&E. He was kept in hospital over the weekend and was understood to have been in a stable condition. Having initially been put in intensive care, he was recovering in an acute ward. Thankfully Gazza is now doing better, with his management telling ITV that he went to hospital "after struggling with a throat condition he has had for a while" and is "back home and doing well". 'Paul voluntarily went into A&E on Friday after struggling with a throat condition he has had for a while,' Carly Saward at the MNT talent agency told the Associated Press too. 'He is already back home and doing well.' Meanwhile, his friend and personal assistant Steve Foster – who found him on Friday – has been visiting Gazza every day and told The Sun: 'Paul is stable now but is still very poorly. 'But it shows how popular and loved he still is by fans everywhere. I can't walk down the street with him without him being stopped – it's crazy.' Gazza has battled with alcoholism and addiction throughout his life, but has been in better shape recently. "He has told friends that he is fine and was going to give an update later today," a source close to the star told The Mirror earlier on Monday. "He has been doing well recently so this was an unexpected setback. 'He had a full three months without alcohol over the summer while he was doing various speaking engagements and looked really well." Gazza won 57 caps for England and played for Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio, Rangers, Middlesbrough and Everton during a distinguished career. But his struggles off the pitch have sadly taken over his life in recent years. Speaking on the High Performance podcast in March 2024, he said: 'I used to be a happy drunk, I ain't any more … I'm a sad drunk. I don't go out and drink, I drink indoors. If I want to make it a bad day, [all I need to do is] go down the pub. If I want it to be a good day, I get my flying rod out and go fishing. 'It's not the drinking, it's the afterwards. Looking at my phone after and seeing 30 messages or missed calls, I know I'm in trouble. But I've been all right. Last year wasn't brilliant, was off and on for a couple of months.' Gascoigne added: 'I try not to get down because the world 's already down enough and when I'm really down, that's when I pick up a drink to cheer myself up. I don't think I let any managers down, or the players or the fans, you know. If there was anyone I let down, it was myself. But more the drinking side of it, when I finished playing.'
