The silliness of Sacred Heart is about to return.
The "Scrubs" reboot was reported to be in development last year with Zach Braff returning as Sacred heart doctor J.D., but now Variety reports that the sitcom has been ordered straight-to-series by ABC for the 2025-2026 season.
The site also reports that Braff won't be alone when it comes to former cast. Donald Faison will also be returning as Dr. Christopher Turk and Sarah Chalke will be back as Dr. Elliot Reid.

Variety says more former castmates are expected to return for the reboot, with no mention of exactly who else might be scrubbing in.

Cast from the original series who could return include John C. McGinley who played the acerbic Dr. Cox, Neil Flynn of "The Middle" fame who played a janitor known for terrorizing J.D., and Judy Reyes as Nurse Carla.
The official logline for the "Scrubs" revival reads, "JD (Braff) & Turk (Faison) scrub in together for the first time in a long time- medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way."
Tim Hobert and Aseem Batra, both of whom worked on the original series, will serve as executive producers and showrunners for the new show. "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence will executive produce along with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer.
Braff, Chalk, and Faison are also serving as executive producers.
"Scrubs" originally aired on NBC for its first seven seasons before jumping to ABC for its final two. Overall, the sitcom ran from 2001 to 2009, earning itself 2 Primetime Emmys in the process.
While promoting the AppleTV+ series "Shrinking" back in 2023, Lawrence told Variety that a "Scrubs" reunion was "inevitable," though at the time he was speaking specifically of a reunion movie rather than a series.
"In the greatest way, the cast of that show and the writers are so good that they're all working. And the main reason to do something like that isn't the work, it's because we actually love hanging out," Lawrence said.
He continued, "I think it's inevitable that [a 'Scrubs' movie] happens. The joke of it with us is the first time that six months go by that we don't hang out, we'll end up doing a 'Scrubs' reunion."

Season 4 of 'Ted Lasso' Is Officially in Production—and We Have a First Look
The hit Emmy-winning series Ted Lasso has been 'exhumed,' as star Hannah Waddingham put it. The Apple TV+ juggernaut, which was once believed to end after season 3, is officially making its return. Here's everything we know about Ted Lasso's next season. Yes! In March 2025, it was announced that Ted Lasso would return for a fourth season. In a statement about the renewal, per Variety, Sudeikis said: 'As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to 'look before we leap,' in season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it's exactly where they're meant to be.' Here's the official logline from Apple: Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Jeremy Swift, and Brendan Hunt are all confirmed to return. When asked about returning for a fourth season of Ted Lasso, Waddingham said, 'It feels like it was the most beautiful, beloved dog that was buried, and now we've exhumed it, and I am here for it. I was hankering and hankering and hankering and hankering to see where Rebecca had gone, where she was going to. She's my girl. She's in my bloodstream, so I'm thrilled that it's been exhumed.' She continued, 'I can't wait to get involved with that and put my penneth in and go shopping for her looks.' Season 4 will also have a few new additions: Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education), Jude Mack (Such Brave Girls), Faye Marsay (Adolescence), Aisling Sharkey (Jurassic World Dominion), Abbie Hern (My Lady Jane), and newcomer, Rex Hayes. Their roles have not yet been announced. Grant Feely will also join the cast and step in as Ted's son, Henry, a role previously played by Gus Turner. Yes! On July 21, Apple TV+ announced that production was underway. Principal photography began today in Kansas City, and additional filming will take place in London. Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt 'Run in Different Circles' After Rumored Feud
Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt may have a long history since they starred in I Know What You Did Last Summer together in the '90s. But that doesn't mean they've always remained tight. Freddie opened up about the nature of his relationship with Jennifer after a rumored feud between them was recently debunked. During an interview with Variety, Freddie admitted that before reuniting with JLH for the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot, they hadn't seen each other in nearly three decades. 'We run in different circles,' he explained. 'I hadn't seen her since we wrapped the second movie in '98, but we care a lot about these characters, and it was all still there. After we finished that first scene, we had a chance to say, 'Oh, you have kids. And you have kids.'' The Scooby-Doo alum, who has been married to fellow IKWYDLS star Sarah Michelle Gellar since 2002, added, 'Honestly, I think the first scene we share in this movie, where Ray and Julie confront the reality of their relationship, is the best work we've done of all three. I'm really proud of it. Our director, Jenn Robinson, three-dimensionalized these characters.' Per Us Weekly, fans have long speculated that Jennifer had a tiff with SMG after the first film and requested that her character be killed off from the franchise. The Ghost actor debunked the rumor during a 2024 appearance on the I've Never Said This Before podcast, saying, 'I was 18. They were not taking script notes from me, guys.' She also clarified that she was 'totally' friends with Sarah back then, adding, 'All of us were in that experience together and, kind of, figuring it all out and everything. I root for her and Freddie and think it's the cutest thing in the world that they've been married for 100 years, and have kids. It's adorable. It's just been really funny to see all of this stuff that people think.' After the premiere of the latest IKWYDLS movie, Sarah entered the chat in her Instagram comments section to clarify where she and Jennifer stand. 'For everyone asking—I never got to see @jenniferlovehewitt who is fantastic in the movie. I was inside with my kids when the big carpet happened. And unfortunately JLH didn't come to the after party,' she wrote. She added, 'If you have ever been to one of these it's crazy. I sadly didn't get pics with most of the cast. But that doesn't change how amazing I think they all are. Unfortunately some things happen only in real life and not online.' The film's reboot, which stars Gen Z powerhouses Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Jonah Hauer-King, Gabbriette Bechtel, and Sarah Pidgeon, continues in the same timeline as the original 1997 movie. Director Jenn Kaytin Robinson brought Freddie and Jennifer's OG characters back for the legacy sequel and shot down theories that the pair shot their scenes separately amid their longstanding feud rumors. 'They absolutely shot their scenes together. Hope this helps,' Jenn wrote in response to a social media post that sparked a debate between fans of the iconic franchise. TL;DR: it seems like there isn't any bad blood between these scream queens and kings.

Kelly Clarkson's mother-daughter duet dazzles fans at Las Vegas residency
Kelly Clarkson is doing Vegas her own way. The talk show host and pop sensation, who is midway through a highly anticipated residency on the strip, invited her daughter on stage during a recent performance for a rendition of "Heartbeat Song," a high-octane crowd pleaser off Clarkson's seventh studio album. "Last night we had a very special guest, my daughter River Rose, joined us for Heartbeat Song. It's her favorite song!" Clarkson wrote on Instagram following the July 18 show. The post featured a photo of the pair touching foreheads on stage mid-song as a packed crowd looked on and captured videos. Kelly Clarkson setlist: All the hit songs powering her Las Vegas residency River Rose, 11, is one of two children Clarkson shares with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, along with son Remington "Remy" Alexander, 9. Clarkson, who recently returned to her NBC talk show after a prolonged absence, is enjoying early success in her Studio Sessions residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. An institution in Sin City, the Colosseum is getting the Clarkson treatment as she plays songs from her newest album and hits from her early days of pop stardom. Kelly Clarkson returns to talk show after unexplained absence "Heartbeat Song," off her sentimental 2015 album "Piece by Piece," took on new meaning with River Rose as backup. In a fan video posted to YouTube, the mother-daughter pair, in matching graphic tees and bell-bottom pants, can be heard harmonizing. River Rose, more timid at the beginning, follows Clarkson's lead and eventually joins in for a more boisterous performance. After the song wrapped, Clarkson treated her daughter to a big hug and kiss on the cheek as the crowd applauded and River Rose disappeared into the wings. Clarkson will continue to perform at the 4,100-capacity theater for shows scattered through July, August and November. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster. The "American Idol" alum said she would bring "the studio to the stage" when she announced the slate of shows and has delivered 10-fold with her trademark blend of down-to-Earth humor and out-of-this-world vocals, all while joking and jamming with her outstanding band that included dual drums, several guitars, horns and strings. Fans of Clarkson's talk show will be treated to a rotating "Kellyoke" cover on the setlist. On opening weekend, she sang "I Will Always Love You" as sung by Whitney Houston and written by Dolly Parton, and Maneskin's cover of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons' "Beggin'."
