Gaston Reyno wants to take BKFC event to Uruguay: 'It would be a dream come true'
Gaston Reyno looks to close out his career on home soil. Gaston Reyno has one wish: to close out his fighting career in his hometown of Montevideo, Uruguay. Reyno, a former Bellator fighter and current UFC Spanish commentator for Latin America, returns to action this Saturday at BKFC 78 at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Fla. Reyno sees this bout against Milton Volter as an opportunity to shoot his shot with the big bosses and make his case for the promotion to pay a visit to Uruguay. "I would love to close out my career at the Antel Arena," Reyno told Hablemos MMA in Spanish. "When the UFC went to Uruguay at the Antel Arena, I couldn't fight. I had a contract with another company (Combate Global), and we tried everything, and we couldn't make it happen. ... I still have Antel Arena in sight. I've never fought at home. The only time I've fought at home was at Punta del Este, which is home but not home. In Punta del Este there are more Brazilians and Argentinians than Uruguayans. I want to fight in Montevideo and I want to fight in that arena. "If I win, and win well, I'm going to grab that microphone, look at Feldman and Conor McGregor and tell them that I want to take BKFC to South America. BKFC has never gone to South America, how is that possible? They did seven events in Asia. They did an event in Dubai. They had an event in a bull fighting arena in Marbella, an amazing event. How come we don't have an event in South America? I'd love to open that door from Uruguay. I'd retire on top. Reyno, 39, is arguably the most well-known MMA fighter to come out of Uruguay. Although no longer fighting in MMA, Reyno still feels the backing of his country. He's confident BKFC could sell out the Antel Arena just like the UFC did in their first and only trip to Uruguay. "Tonga" wants to fight on home soil before he calls it quits. It doesn't matter who it's against. "If I fight a monster and I get broken, who cares, I don't care about the result," Reyno said. "I don't want to be champion, become a millionaire. I'm happy with my life. I live commentary. I love where I work. I'm in love with my wife. I love my son. I adore the city I live in. I'm a happy man. I just want one thing: Share a night with my people in Montevideo, Uruguay. It sounds cliché, but it would be a dream come true. It would be the closing of my career."

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Angels: Game time, pitching matchups and more
Diamondbacks at Angels, 6:38 p.m., Apple TV+ Diamondbacks RHP Ryne Nelson (5-2, 3.39) vs. Angels LHP Tyler Anderson (2-6, 4.19). At Angel Stadium: It's a battle of two former University of Oregon pitchers, both from the Las Vegas area. Nelson, like most of the Diamondbacks' rotation, has pitched well of late. He's given up five combined earned runs over his past five starts. He's won three of those five starts (two no-decisions) and is coming off a win over the Royals in which he pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run on four hits. ... Nelson has started only one other time in his career against the Angels, earning a win. ... Anderson hasn't won a start since April 18, with eight no-decisions and six losses since that day. A longtime former Colorado Rockies pitcher, Anderson is 6-4 with a 4.27 ERA in 19 career appearances against Arizona. Advertisement Coming up July 12: At L.A. Angels, 6:38 p.m., Diamondbacks RHP Zac Gallen (7-9, 5.15) vs. Angels LHP Yusei Kikuchi (3-6, 3.02). July 13: At L.A. Angels. 1:07 p.m., Diamondbacks RHP Merrill Kelly (7-5, 3.41) vs. Angels RHP José Soriano (6-6, 4.00). July 14-17: All-Star break What to know about the Los Angeles Angels The Angels are synonymous with outfielder Mike Trout, an 11-time All-Star and three-time American League MVP. But Trout, like many Angels hitters, is having a down year, and the team is far behind in the American League West. In the AL wild-card standings, however, the Angels are only three games out of the last spot as of the start of play on July 10. Trout, the DH, was batting .233 with 16 home runs and 36 runs batted in as of July 10, and did not make the All-Star roster for the AL. The only Angels All-Star is left-hander Yusei Kikuchi, whom the Diamondbacks are scheduled to face this weekend. Shortstop Zach Neto is turning into a solid major leaguer at age 24, with double-digits in home runs and stolen bases this season.
