WWE RAW: Gunther-Goldberg Face-Off Sends Crowd Wild, Seth Rollins Defeats Penta
Monday Night RAW saw several exciting clashes in Providence, Rhode Island ahead of the Saturday Night's Main Event.
The WWE RAW was held at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island on July 7, where a host of exciting face-offs thrilled the fans as tempers flew.
Among the highlights was Seth Rollins defeating Penta in a chaotic match, while a high-intense segment featuring Goldberg and Gunther gave the crowd goosebumps as the WWE Hall of Famer took down his opponent ahead of Saturday Night's Main Event.
Gunther and Goldberg came down to the ring and got straight into each other's faces in the most heated moment of the night. Gunther had arrived to say that he verbally ran down Goldberg for two weeks and yet he did nothing. Gunther came up with a strike that was thwarted by a punch from Goldberg, who was about to follow that up with a spear when Gunther escaped and got out. The altercation raised the excitement about the two superstars' bout at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Seth Rollins Overcomes Penta
At the main event for Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins took on Penta in a captivating showdown where the two wrestlers landed heavy moves on each other. Not until the dying moments could they be separated when Penta connected with a Mexican Destroyer, but Rollins grabbed the rope. Then in chaotic scenes, while the referee was not looking, Rollins hit a low blow followed by a Curb Stomp on Penta and secured his victory. Just as Rollins celebrated, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed came out. LA Knight then blindsided Rollins with an attack before rushing through the crowd.
In an intense singles match, Jey Uso battled against Bronson Reed and encountered an opponent desperate to hurt him as Reed threw a chair towards him when he attempted a suicide dive. Even as Uso came out triumphant in the end, Reed pursued his agenda and beat him down with two Tsunamis.
Sami Zayn was attacked by Karrion Kross from behind just as he was making his entrance. Kross also attacked Zayn's injured ribs with a pipe. Zayn, however, was cleared to still compete against Bron Breakker, who tried to break his resilience throughout the match. Eventually, Zayn gave up after Breakker came up with multiple spears and secured his win.
El Grande Americano vs Dragon Lee
El Grande Americano and Dragon Lee confronted each other in another gripping singles match, where El Grande won with a head spear as Lee attempted a high-flying move against him.
Roxanne Perez Takes On Kairi Sane
In a captivating women's showdown, Roxanne Perez faced off against Kairi Sane. Fortunes shifted back and forth in this exciting contest before Sane came out victorious after countering Perez's Pop Rox and reversing into a pinfall for the win. Later on, Raquel Rodriguez tried to take down Sane, but Asuka came to her aid and announced the Kabuki Warriors reunion.

CM Punk, Rhea Ripley reveal chaos behind the scenes in Netflix's WWE: Unreal docuseries
What really happens before a WWE superstar steps into the ring? The new Netflix docuseries, WWE: Unreal, pulls back the curtain on the wild world of professional wrestling, featuring never-before-seen moments, creative chaos, and emotional truths from stars like CM Punk and Rhea Ripley. The show will premiere on July 29. Narrated by WWE Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, the five-episode series explores the creative pipeline that powers Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown, from WWE headquarters in Connecticut to the global stage. CM Punk, who returned to WWE in 2023 after nearly a decade away, told E Online that the show will reveal how a single idea can snowball into a headline-grabbing story. He told the publication that fans will learn the seed of an idea and the genesis of how it all 'goes from headquarters to on the road'. Rhea Ripley added that fans will witness how storylines take shape in closed-door meetings and how creative direction often shifts mid-show due to injuries, audience reactions, or last-minute changes. 'Things can change on the fly. They happen all the time,' said Ripley. Ripley, who vacated her Women's World Championship in April 2024 due to a shoulder injury, knows firsthand how unpredictable wrestling can be. She said, 'You are always stressed going out there. Things do go wrong.' CM Punk, echoing the sentiment, explained that his preparation routine changes depending on whether he is wrestling. He said that if he is wrestling, he will not deadlift the morning of a match. Despite their larger-than-life personas, even the top stars feel nervous before going live, stated another report in Netflix's . Ripley was quoted saying that it is a normal, human thing. She said she listens to music to channel her fierce alter ego, The Eradicator. 'Also, Triple H might give me a pep talk before I go out, that always helps,' she added. The show also spotlights heartfelt farewells, like John Cena getting ready to retire after over 20 years in WWE. Punk says he partly regrets leaving when he did, but it feels better to be back and work with Cena one last time. Punk, according to Tudum, also talked about a storyline that got canned but still gets him thinking; he was once in the running to play Vince McMahon's son from an affair. Punk says he does not want that to be reality, but he wonders how it would have played out. WWE: Unreal is just one of many sports documentaries on Netflix that give you a look behind the scenes, like Quarterback and Starting 5. Whether you have been watching WWE for years or are just starting out, Unreal is supposed to show you the actual drama behind all the staged craziness. Rhea Ripley is married to fellow WWE superstar Buddy Matthews (formerly Buddy Murphy). CM Punk's '31' tattoo refers to his younger sister's soccer jersey number. Rhea Ripley and Buddy Matthews have been married since June 2024.
